Palazzo Starace Relais is a small and intimate guesthouse set in the heart of the historic center, overlooking Piazza Tasso.
Score from 173 reviews Excellent
In spite of its central position in the historic centre this small hotel is everything you would need. It is quiet, clean and comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff. There are several original unique features in this converted monastery and a very friendly cat!
Location on a walking street in center of Sorrento. Comfortable room with balcony. B&B type hotel with only 9 rooms, 3 on each floor. Very good breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Skimpy towels and soap, but all else great.
Loved everything about this hotel.. Staff were great.. Location was fab, close to shops and restaurants.. Just a great little hotel.. Will def return next year..
The hotel was clean, uniquely decorated, and located in a central area.
The staff wasn't as welcoming or helpful as we came across at other places we stayed.
Location in the old town, near the coastline, the shops, the train & bus station, great breakfast and big room
No complaint !
Perfect location - close to the main square and easy to find. Helpful staff
Great value for money hotel in a fantastic location. Staff were very friendly and even upgraded our room to a larger family suite. Would recommend to anyone.
Right in the heart of Sorrento action, the house cat Litz, friendly staff.
Hotel was difficult to find first off.
The staff were incredibly friendly, the hotel was clean and well presented and the rooms were a good size (ours had a balcony as well so our room was very airy). The location was ideal for those wanting to explore the streets of Sorrento and it was only a 5 minute walk to the balcony overlooking the sea and the lift down to the sea front.
We opted out of breakfast as it was primarily cake. The location also meant that occasionally you could hear loud people in the street. The wifi was good in communal areas but not very good inside the rooms. The glass-paned staircase also made me feel slightly nervous! (Pros highly outweighed the cons though)
We loved the personal attention the staff gave us. They were always on hand to help with any requests. The room we had was big and spacious, with a walk-in wardrobe attached to the bedroom. We did not have a balcony, but we did have a big sunroof which let lots of light in. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside on the patio. The glass stairs were also quite unusual and great! Overall, thank you for a fantastic stay in beautiful Sorrento!
The continental breakfast was a bit limited. There were only two types of cereal on offer. The fruit however, was delicious and I did enjoy fruit and yoghurt every morning.
A very small hotel - 5 rooms? The glass staircase was very impressive. Lifts worked ok. Breakfast was good Staff helpful.
Great location. Rooms were modern and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Has a room available to freshen up if you have a late flight.
Room was next to the dining room so was noisy. Was woken up by the bell from the church that was located opposite form the hotel.
the proximity to all the attractions and sights of Sorrento and the helpfulness from all the Staff
the glass stairway
the shower was a little uncomfortable
The staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was lovely and spacious and the central position in Sorrento was perfect. Thanks for a great stay!
Great breakfest. Friendly cat.
Never cleaned out the dishes In the kitchen area. That could produce roaches.
The friendly staff, they were always helpful. Close to wedding venue, reception and restaurants and bars If I could give 6 stars I would.
Could not find a thing that I did not like
We liked people at the front desk, especially Giovanni. He was so nice, helpful in every way. We loved the room. We also enjoyed the breakfast. The best part about the Hotel is it's location. Close to Plazza Tasso, all the restaurants, the port to go to Capri and all the shopping areas. It was quiet even though the room faced the street. Would recommend it as a base for seeing the Amalfi Coast and the Island of Capri.
The A/C had only 2 options - very high or none. Was not fixed during our stay.
Location , women staff,cleanliness,balcony,
Air conditioning wasn't working and we were not given any compensation for it. Triple room was a double with an extra bed crammed into it. The room was much smaller than it appeared online.
The receptionist Angela was very helpful in assisting us with a situation we had in making many telephone calls on our behalf
Location great walking distance 10 min from train station. Quiet room when we shut the window, room clean and large. Nice ensuite. Staff helpful. Close to restaurants and marina- there is some walking but achievable.
Wifi was very slow. Breakfast not included in the price but paid 10 Euro fo 2 persons probably not that tasty, but it was convenient.
In the heart of Sorrento. Pleasant staff. Very modern inside...loved it! Very, very clean...not to worry about that here. Loved the balcony and would sit out there in late afternoon / early evening before heading out to dinner.
Located next to a church that rings the bells everyday at 7:00 am and about 5:00 pm....very annoying and obnoxiously loud...not the hotel's fault. If your ok being up by 7:00 every day, which we were it did not bother us...the late afternoon ringing was annoying as i would try to nap before going out to dinner.
Location is fantastic in the old part of Sorrento. I had a great value last minute deal and was put in a family suite the first night and then into a single room thereafter... understandably so as they had a family to accommodate. Sorrento is beautiful and you can explore the streets, find a place to sit and people watch.
