The hotel is excellent. I stayed with my husband for 4 days in July. The air conditioner is excellent even when it's very hot outside. The rooms are very, very clean. Impeccable! The staff is not only very kind but also very helpful. They gave us a lot of tourist information that is not very easy to find in all Italy! They gave us very good advice on places to eat at very good prices and very good quality meals. They also gave us good advice on how to reach Capri, the Amalfi coast (Positano, Amalfi), Pompei, etc. Breakfast is also very good. They make the best espresso and have a great variety of croissants. It was a wonderful hotel. If we have to go back to Sorrento we will stay again in hotel Angelina. Another advantage is that it is very close to the train station, so if you come from Naples you are only 3 blocks away from the station and the surroundings are very safe to walk even at late hours. You are also very close to downtown Sorrento. You can walk (10 blocks) or take the train (1 stop away, 2 min ride). I recommend this hotel 100%.

The staff were very helpful. Paulo greeted us in a friendly manner and was helpful in arranging forward travel arrangements. I left a pullover behind and they chased after me to the train station to give it to me.

What would be something to remark about this place is his owner, Paolo and his Father. Paolo is very helpfull, he would not care about spending his time to give us some advice, and all his advice about restaurants we liked so much, so , he really knows where to eat good for a fair price. Breakfast was very good , we could choose between different types of coffee ( american, capuccino ,etc ) . They had everything, except ham and cheese. The hotel is close to the beach, if you intend having a sunbath, or swim. The garage of the hotel have a good size, which was a suprise for the standards in south Italy. I would definately stay again. Two things, that was not a big trouble at all, but is something that some guests would bother is the size of the room together with the bathroom and some noise that you can hear from the other rooms or the corridor. I think it is because walls arent thick enough. But I cannot complain, I had a very good night , in all my nights ( 3 ) .

This is a very good value hotel for the area with an interesting mixture of guests. The owners and staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. We chose it for the price. We knew that it had no pool but we also knew that we would be out all day so that wasn't a priority for us. There is no restaurant but the owner was able to recommend some good inexpensive ones locally. They are also happy for you to eat your own food on the terrace. Very small shower room

Paolo and his father were fantastic! They helped us with everything. The rooms where clean and tidy and the location was really good. Walking distance to the train station that takes you to Sorrento, Almalfi, Pompei, Naples and Capri ferries. Would definatley recommend it. We booked 2 nights and ended staying 4. Breakfast was really good and they recommend some really good resturants :)

Paolo, the owner and host was fantastic. He is very knowledgable about where to eat if you want real Italian restaurants where the locals eat, where to go for sightseeing, leisurely activities, etc. Great info about Capri, train schedules, etc. There is a lovely shady terrace where we would meet each afternoon for a drink before going out, or after coming in - there were 6 of us travelling together. It is not a luxury hotel by any stretch, but all the basics are provided. It's on a quiet little side street, just outside of Sorrento where the pace is slower and the noise level is practically zero. I highly recommend this if you're budget conscious and looking for a true Italian experience.

As many reviews said, Paulo takes care of any details to make sure guests' stay at Hotel Angelina as at home. As a solo traveler, I can easily travel in Sorrento area everyday by public transports. I think I will stay there again next time to Sorrento.

Prices good, rooms comfortable and clean, relatively quiet at night / little disturbance. Manager very helpful and friendly. Takes trouble to get to know guests and to provide helpful info re Amalfi coast, Pompei, etc. overall I had a very enjoyable stay. At least 1 good restaurant within 5 mins walk Not many local facilities in the town (st Agnelo), but only 1 metro / circumvesuviana stop from Sorrento (3-4 minutes train ride - with trains approx every half Hour). Also walkable - 35 mins walk to centre of Sorrento, Hotel is approx 5 mins walk from station

Nice hotel, excellent location - you can use public transport to get everywhere (train to Pompei, city bus to port) and walk around the city in the evening. Paolo at the reception is very friendly, helpfull, speaks fluent English and treat his guests like a family members! You can receive useful recommendations from Paolo regarding sightseeing and restorants with delicious food for reasonable prices. Just ask! Breakfast is more rich that in other hotels. You may also take your own food for breakfast if you don't like "Italian style breakfast" :-) This is really good hotel with excellent treatment!!!

It had a comfortable and unpretencious decor. The towels were changed daily and it was in a quiet location. The staff were helpful, but could have helped with the luggage when leaving the hotel, going down the steps. The breakfast was plentiful and the tea/coffee/drinks served in the evenings was delightful. It had a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Lovely to look out over the orchard when having breakfast and most rooms look over it as well. Nothing significant. Wifi in the bedrooms would have been good, rather than going downstairs into the sitting room.

Paul, the guy in the reception, is very helpful. The hotel is not close to the sorrento train station but very close the the station one stop before sorrento if you travel from Napoli to Sorrento. We realized this fact on the train back to Napoli. The restaurant Paul recommended is wonderful. We have all our dinner there.

In a quiet well lit location off main street with good access to train and buses. Good value for money with a generous breakfast. The father and son were very helpful with local knowledge of restaurants, transport and places to visit. Happy to accomodate early morning departure. The rooms were rather tired but clean, and fine as a budget base in the Sorrento area.

Very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Paulo and his father Torino run the hotel. It is better if it is family-run, better attention to guests and their comfort. Their own friends drop by to chat, so that is good. They make you coffee every day and chat. Paulo is fabulous at details for sites in the area. Don't worry about schedules, he will tell you when the ferry goes to Capri, how to get there, bus and train schedules are posted on the wall. Don't stress about anything as Paulo will help you with it. Breakfast is downstairs in an indoor area with open sides, fresh and pleasant. Decent breakfast. Peppinos restaurant is good and reasonable. Paulo will tell you where it is, close by. Large outdoor patio, shaded and cool. Hotel surrounded by orange trees. Paulo and Torino helped me all the time with my luggage. There is also a rooftop terrace, very big, if you want the sun. Excellent value for money. No wi-fi in rooms but there is downstairs, so you can bring your laptop and sit on the patio. No elevator. But there is help with your luggage. It is near the station, prob 5 min walk. One stop away from Sorrento station. Take the train from Napoli, easy enough.

A perfect base for exploring the area. Quiet area, close to bus stops and rail station and within reasonable walking distance of Sorrento centre. Paolo and his father were pleasant, helpful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them - Paolo's English is excellent and his advice on local restaurants, options for transport and the best times to visit attractions was both very welcome and very comprehensive. The hotel was spotless throughout, our room was comfortable and the public areas were welcoming. Breakfast was served from 0700-1000 and consisted of cereals, bread, croissants, spreads and fresh fruit, with plentiful tea, coffee and fruit juice. We cannot fault the Hotel Angelina and thoroughly recommend it. Nothing to dislike whatsoever.
