“Stayed in one of the apollo's apartments, 500m from the hotel. Superbly situatuated - 25 metres from cavour metro station, 10 minutes walk from colosseum, good value restaurants in area. Large-roomed apartment, adequately furnished. Double and single bedrooms very comfortable. Lift to all floors.”

Hotel Apollo is in Via Dei Serpenti, the most characteristic of Rome's Monti district. The Coliseum is a 5 minute walk away, and nearby Cavour Metro Station is one stop from Termini. The spacious rooms offer an LCD TV with satellite channels and air conditioning. The style is functional, with wooden furniture and soft carpeted floors. Apartments are also available. Buffet breakfast at Apollo Hotel includes fresh fruit, croissants, cheese, yogurt, and cold meats. It is served on the roof garden overlooking the city. We made a reservation on this hotel based on the reviews we saw and we were soo happy to find out that they were all true. We did not stayed in the hotel itself but in a 3 bedroom apartment. We loved it! It was clean, centrally located, full of places to eat (within a very short distance) and just what we needed. When visiting Rome again for sure we will stay in this hotel.

We stayed in the 3 room apartment(not located at the hotel) The location of the apartment (5 min walk from the Colosseum and 20 meters from the Cavour metro stop) was perfect. The room is newly refurbished and was extremely clean. This was a great place w/ easy access to the majority of tourist attractions in Rome and I would defiantly stay here if ever back in Rome. My only two complaints were: the directions we were given to get from the hotel to the apartment could have been better and the water pressure in the shower was non-existent. Those two things were far outweighed by the positives.

We stayed in the 1-bedroom apartment located next to the Hotel Apollo. The best thing about this hotel is location-- very close to the Colosseum and the Forum (10-15 minute walk to Colosseum). The apartment was spacious for our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids on sofa bed, 1 in crib). The terrace of the apartment was nice. The staff of the hotel is very gracious and friendly, though some do not speak very much English. Though our stay was good overall, I feel like I need to tell others about a few shortcomings: -- There was water damage on the ceiling in the living room, and more significantly in the bathroom, causing mold to grow. The bathroom had a musty/moldy smell. This would be a definite problem if you are allergic to mold, and frankly, it was unsightly. -- There was dust/wood shavings that regularly fell from one of the beams in the living area (a pile would re-appear after cleaning on the furniture underneath). Was it termites? -- The fridge did not work when we first arrived, though this problem was addressed quickly. Overall, the apartment is in a great location and is a great space, but needs some improvements.

The family running this hotel make the difference. Unlike other hotels we stayed in Rome earlier, we experienced here a genuine friendly interest, helping attitude and personal service. If you add to that the great location and real Roman surronding (less touristy than expected) and cleannes overall, you have a perfect case to come back. I can highly recommend the place for those in search of Roman touch and good value for money.

Good location - near Colosseum and the apartments we stayed in were right next to the metro - Cavour. Very clean . Very nice restaurant opposite our apartment where we ate every night - ie 3 nights . It was frequented by locals and hardly any tourists , so we knew it was good. We stayed at the apartments owned by the Hotel Apollo , some 300 yards or so from the hotel - which required us to drag our cases down the road and around the corner . Apartment had limited facilities ie especially in terms of the kitchen. It was advertised as a 3 bedroom apartment but this it wasn't the case as it was a two bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the lounge , which meant that we either had to leave the sofa bed down every day so we had no where to sit or make the bed up everyday which was bit of a hassle.

The location was directly across from the Via Cavour train station which was excellent. No coffeee maker in the room and when we arrived it would have been nice if the hotel would have escorted us to the apartment. We had a difficult time finding it.

Hotel Apollo is located within walking distance from the train station (approx. 15 min) and down the block from the Colosseum which is great. The hotel is around the corner from Via Nazionale and it's easy to navigate the city from here. The hotel and rooms look as though they have been renovated recently which I appreciate - a new elevator and a very clean room and bathroom. The breakfast is a typical Italian-style hotel breakfast (pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee/juice) which suits me fine, but if you expect something more you might be disappointed. Our room faced the front of the hotel and the street. Since we were staying during the weekend the street noise was a little intense, but it can be remedied by closing the window or tiring yourself out during the day seeing all Rome has to offer.

Stayed in the Apollo appartments, about 400 metres from the hotel. A great location about 25 metres from cavour tube station. The appartment was first class with great facilities. As it snowed over the weekend it was nice to be in a warm cosy environment. The area was full of good eateries, All major sites were walkable. The hotel owner was very pleasant and helpful.

Its right near the colosseum which is great and there are some nice restaurants and cafe's near by. The room was a good size and we were comfortable. The breakfast gets old quick, I would have liked some more variety and if you get there later in the open time frame to eat there is almost no food left and the hotel does not bring out more.. Very noisy, you can hear everything that occurs on the street.

The location was excellent ! Close to the colosseum, forum and to the metro station Cavour. Even Trevi was walkable as was Santa Maria Magiore. The breakfast was lovely - hot crossiants, coffee, cold meats, juice all served on the rooftop. The rooms were clean and the bathroom had new fittings and fixtures. On the whole this was a great find ! The bathroom was a bit too small especially the shower box and the towels were very thin. There were mosquitos in the room but they didnt have any mosquito repellants like Good night/All out. The hotel should have them just like the others in Florence/venice where we stayed. It would be good if there was tea/coffee in the room. But these were no major problems so I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers.

The hotel is centrally located and is very fairly priced. It is in a quiet neighborhood with several nice restaurants in the immediate area. Breakfast is served in a garden area on the roof and is very complete. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and a tv with largely Italian channels (go figure). Would definitely stay there again. Nothing to complain about - a nice hotel in the heart of Rome.
