Hotel Ariston  

The location was perfect, relatively near the attractions.

The room is not a fancy hotel, but it could be better. The masters bed was just a double joined together, so we kept on falling in between the beds cushions.

The hotel was decent--clean and comfortable, if bare. Good location near the center of the city.

The toilet didn't work either of the two nights we stayed there, despite the fact that we told the staff multiple times. The staff were generally pretty unfriendly, and even hostile when we told them about the problem.

The location is great and the staff were friendly enough for the most part.

For the price this was the definition of bare bones. The rooms were small, and they don;t give fresh towels or fresh sheets except every 4 days. I'm surprised we didn't have to pay a bed-use fee. There were lots of amenities listed that just aren't there...or if so require more money. For example the tv in the room had stripped and exposed wires and clearly hadn't worked in years....arguably not a "major" problem however it is a pretty clear statement on this hotel's owners' attitude ...in other words it's obvious they just don't care. This might not be the most expensive hotel in Florence, but having recently stayed in every major city in Italy this is not good value for money. It was essentially an overpriced hostel.

Well situated, about 10min walk from the duomo. Staff was very friendly,i arrived earlier than planned andthey were eager to accomodate me.

We came home at approx 10:30 and it took about 15 minutes for someone to come open the front door for us.

Great Location. Big room. The receptionist was friendly and attentive. She saw we had two big bags and were booked for the third floor but changed us to the first so it would be easier on us. We also had no problems with getting wi-fi on the first floor. It worked quite well, in fact. They came everyday to clean and restock towels no matter what time we left the hotel.

Bathroom was tiny (my knees touched the wall when sitting on the toilet). No elevator. Breakfast was not very nice. It consisted only of bread, jam, corn flakes, and croissants. There was one toaster for bread to be shared among all the guest which was annoying at times. Large amount of dust under the bed.

Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Especially, a staff named Saleem!

Truly amazing location (only 5 min walk from Duomo). Very friendly, helpful stuff. Budged friendly: at the given season (april) were the prices best-in-category.

Hotel refused on multiple basis the Visa card that was previously accepted by all other hotels, also used for other payments at the same time. Payment takes place (unlike most of other hotels) at the very beginning of the stay, and they were cancelling the card-payment made through booking.com - never hapenned to me before! Also, the referred "external private" bathroom, was located in common coridor, crossing other guests, which was not really a pleasant experience.

Hotel staff is very helpful. Especially Salim who gives breakfast is very friendly.

The room we stayed first night (room nr 201) was very bad. The bathroom was the smallest one I have ever seen. Then we changed the room. Beds are not comfortable and old.

The room was large enough for 4 but beds were very uncomfortable and street noise made it hard to sleep. Also, no elevator made getting luggage up and down from 4th floor room very difficult.

Perfect location, fairly helpful service.

Smelled like urine as soon as we walked into the lobby. Gave us two twin beds disguised as a bed for a couple...nope. Confusing bathroom arrangement. Bidet in bedroom. Furniture and fixtures falling apart.

Hotel Ariston was a budget friendly hotel which we knew pretty much what we were paying for. It's essentially a place to sleep. That being said - it was a nice location in regards to a few of the bars/restaurants nearby. The location was absolutely fine.

It was exactly what we expected for the price. We didn't spend any more time in the room than we needed to.

Staff was friendly.

Toilet didn't flush. Fan and tv didn't work. Shower was not separate from toilet. Bed was very uncomfortable.

Our room was in the top of the building, so get there without of lift was terrible, beside it the walls small wet

Gute Lage

Cold rooms (heating does not work correctly), cold water and bad service for the totally overpriced rooms (very bad price-quality)

The night concierge is a bit rude

I like the location, only 3 min walk to the duomo.

Firstly, there's no elevate. My room couldn't access to the wifi. The corrider is quite narrow. Moreover, the area seems not quite safe.

Location - this hotel is within easy walking distance of the railway and historic sites. There was free Wi-fi in the reception area however we were able to pick it up most of the time in our room on the 2nd floor. Our stay was during an extremely hot week of August, with temperatures in the 38 to 40 range. Overnight temperatures were frequently still in the 30's. There is no air-conditioning at the hotel however, we had a large ceiling fan which helped to make things bearable. The bathroom was small but we considered it adequate. The breakfast was very basic but enough to get you going on a day of sight-seeing - we didn't go to Florence to have breakfast! This hotel was very reasonably priced compared to many others.

There was no lift and we were on the second floor - not a real problem for us as we are fit at 56 - it might be a problem for others to get there bags up and down the stairs. Management did ask us to view the room though before committing.

Too hot, smokey atmosphere (from downstairs rooms) and poor breakfast. Lots of mosquitoes.

Location is very good. Florence is so lovely ... The reception is 24 hours.

I regretted having chosen a room with bathroom outside even if it was private.

The hotel was clean. Just a little bit of a walk from the centre (25 mins to half an hour) Small place and good for cheap price.

Good location, very spacious and very clean room.

Breakfast cost 3 euros and was just ok.
