Good location, near the center of Siena and with parking facilities. Friendly staff.

The air conditioner didn't work well. In a deluxe double room there was no drawer space which was very inconvenient if staying for more than 1 night. Seemed to be more than the 10 minute walk they advertised from Piazza del Campo.

Very Helpful and courteous staff! They spoke English well. Rooms were great. Beautiful view spacious all the amenities! Even a terrace bar on our floor overlooking sienna!

Just the fact that one had to do a little walking mostly uphill to get to sienna but it really wasn't that bad and it was to be expected!

Clean close to the city.

The noise in the room from the street was excessive and the room had a peculiar smell

7th floor terrace bar had an incredible view of the countryside. German woman at the front desk was very helpful when there was an issue with our bill. Hotel staff were very helpful in storing my group's luggage and in getting our coach into the back of the hotel.

The shower in my room did not have any door on it, so it made it difficult to shower without getting a lot of water on the floor.

The staff were very courteous, polite and friendly with suggestions on where to go and helped create a really special honeymoon for us. The suite was fabulous with double bath and double shower, very spacious, excellent views and complimentary wine upon hearing it was our honeymoon. Service was top notch!

Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Location of the hotel in the walls of the city. Very good breakfasts and the roof terrace with an evening Prosecco is just the icing on the cake!

The underground garage, especially with a large rental car, can only be described as a challenge. However, undercover parking in Siena is really a bonus. Our second and third stays, so we knew all about this.

Location and parking.

Fantastic staff - always cheerful and helpful. Comfortable rooms with new furniture and marble bathrooms. Excellent breakfast included in the price of the room. Good location - only a ten minute walk to the Campo. On site parking is a bonus for those who have a car. All together, a superior experience - I would definitely return. A solid value for the money.

The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful; our room was lovely, with a private balcony, and the hotel has a rooftop patio/bar where one can sip white wine while gazing off at the Tuscan countryside. Hotel Athena is tucked inside the old city walls of Siena, yet has clean, modern bathrooms and other features like a big flat screen TV that I originally thought was a nice mirror on the wall. It's within walking distance of all the sights of the Medieval city. Great comfort, aesthetically pleasing, and conveniently located.

The moment we arrived we were greeted with friendly helpful staff, hotel well located with everything a traveller needs in the accomodation.. I would recommend to everyone who wants good service and good location....................

The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There is a beautiful terrace at the top o the hotel with a fantastic view.

You can hear the traffic as it goes by, but there isn't too much of this and after about 11pm there is hardly any.

My room had no view, but instead I got better internet connnection. The atendants where very nice. Breakfast was very good.

The location was not bad at all, but a little far from the main attractions of Siena, and to get there one has to face ups and downs of this hilly city of Toscana.

Great location, a short walk from all the city has to offer. Suzanne at the front desk should be the "poster" image for truly excellent customer service. Property left little to want...a great place to stay in Siena.

Only minor negative was the up-hill walk to get into the main part of the city.

The Hotel Athena was perfect as it was just inside the city walls of Sienna so allowed us to walk to everything but use our car for day trips. But the highlight of the hotel is the staff, who were without exception some of the most customer service focused individuals we have ever encountered. To a person, they were helpful beyond what is typical. They went above and beyond and above again at every request that we made! The room was clean and lovely and bright. Their terrace was a lovely, unexpected oasis after a day exploring. I would highly recommend this location to anyone!

- It was clean and functional and the welcome was warm.

- the lack of airconditioning. I booked a room on the basis of the description which included air-con. The staff refused to turn it on, because it was the wrong time of year.

Quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff on reception.

Better sound-proofing required. Noise from corridor easily heard in bedroom. Breakfast disappointing. Coffee and fruit juice from machines was awful. Croissants poor quality. Felt like costs cut too far.
