Hotel Aurora  

The Hotel is located in a beautiful spot! The room was large overlooking a beautiful lake and mountainside-- Italian and Swiss Mountain on the Horizon. There was a veranda outside our room from which one can sip some wine and snack on delicious cheese. The staff were supportive re- assuring and wonderful. It was a short drive away to Belagio and Como. Both very beautiful towns. One can take Ferries and visit beautiful estates. Despite the windy narrow road, the location is overlooking beautiful Italian and Swiss Mountains. The hotel also has a restaurant that served wonderful food and made it easy to eat in. The prices were reasonable and the staff very attentive.

Hotel Aurora, like other hotels in Italy should include mode of transportation to the location. And directions coming from the south and the North. We drove, but as we were touring we discovered that there was a train from Milan to Como and a bus from Como to Lezzano and Belagio. Also to be included is a list of good local restaurants around the Hotel. During October, many already closed for the season and others are located in little hamlets located within those little towns. They are hard to get to in the dark of nights when the restaurants are open.

This place was fantastic. I am certainly going to stay again. The views were breathtaking, the food is the best cuisine I have ever eaten and the wine was like nectar. We didn't want to leave! I would recommend this place to anyone

The staff went out of their way to make sure we had all the information required to enjoy every aspect of the hotel and surrounding area. They made you feel like part of their family.

Very friendly, respectful service. All staff, including those at the restaurant were aware of the nationality of each guest and responded accordingly. It was an excellent base from which to explore Lake Como. Restaurant superb, with a good range of local dishes at good prices. Hotel clean, welcoming and comfortable.

We stayed in a mountain view room, but I would recommend paying the extra for a lake view. The room was basic, but perfectly comfortable and only a stone's throw from the lake. The attached restaurant hovers over the water and serves great pizzas. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, hospitable. A family run business so I felt very at home. The restaurant served good food. The bar was welcoming. Great location in a small village. Easy to get to by bus and easy to get to other towns on lake como either by ferry or bus. I felt so relaxed and because the staff were so nice all the guests were relaxed and friendly, I felt very at home. I would strongly recommend this hotel and if I went back to lake Como I would stay here again.

I had a single room and so I had a single bed. The room was quite small and I was expecting a double bed

We like to be away from the tourist hubs so this was a good choice for us. The village of lezzeno is 7 km from the nearest commercial tourist town of bellagio (a place which didn't impress us much). This means you need to have a car or be willing use the bus. Boats stop about 6.30pm. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable but fairly basic. If you want something a bit fancier ask for one of the rooms in the new block which are very very nice. However, what the old part of the hotel lacks is more than compensated by the staff and owners with their laid back, but friendly and helpful approach to their guests. The breakfast is also impressive with a gluten free selection. Laundry facilities are very modern, though expensive at €10 for wash and dry. It can get busy at weekends as they also run a wakeboarding school, but this is highly entertaining! One thing not to miss is hiring a boat through the hotel, they will arrange it all. For you and the boat will be delivered go the hotel.

The only real criticism is that the sunbeds and the sundeck need upgrading.

Excellent service, excellent location, genuinely great place! Waterski and watersports facilities on the doorstep. Good restaurant, with fresh light food as well as pasta and pizza. All staff are personable and friendly, willing to help out with whatever they can... Great value for money. Loved it!

They could facilitate swimmers there a lot better... It is a beautiful place to swim but the ramps are very slippery as is the 'beach'. The pontoons are usually busy with boats coming and going and are quite high for less agile people to get out onto. A separate swimmers pontoon would make it excellent!! (Beds could be a bit more comfortable as well, however that is a common complaint right across Italy... Really struggled to find a comfortable bed anywhere)
