Very good,

“ The breakfast was marvelous . The rooftop dining experience was romantic and the view spectacular! ”

The Hotel Barberini takes its name from the renowned piazza set just across the road, featuring Bernini’s classic Tritone fountain. This luxury hotel is set in Rome’s most exclusive neighborhood. Housed in a prestigious 19th century building, the Hotel Barberini is an elegant and glamorous choice for an unforgettable stay in the Eternal City. It offers comfortable guest rooms which combine classic design with modern amenities. A definite highlight of the Barberini Hotel is the panoramic breakfast room providing views across Rome’s enchanting historic center. The famously chic Via Veneto is just a few steps away as are a number of monuments and attractions including the Trevi Fountain and the Quirinale Gardens. The metro stop is only a few yards away. However, the hotel’s convenient location means that most of the city’s sights are within walking distance. Lovely hotel with fantastic location to all the sights. Everything is within walking distance with some great restaurants and cafes all very close. The room we had, had a great curtain to separate us from the kid's beds.

Very close to Spanish Steps, Trevvi Fountain, Via Veneto (all about 5/10 min walk)and walking distance to Colosseum/Roman Forum (15/20 min). Bit of a walk to Vatican, but still walkable. Metro is a minutes walk away. Termini train station is about 10-15 minutes walk away. When we checked on internet the price for train ticket to the airport was 9€, but when we tried to purchase tickets from the self- serve ticket machine there was only a first class option at 14€ each. Still cheaper than taking a taxi to the airport (which would be 48€), and train ride was only 30 minutes. Nice restaurant around the corner of hotel at a reasonable price. Hotel is ok if it's just a bed you want in a central location. Did not have any desire to spend much time in the hotel. Rooms looked quite romantic in the photos, but they're not. Hotel does not have a restaurant. The 'bar' is just a couple of tables. Rooms are not very soundproof, and are a bit tired, carpets are worn. Water marks on side of bath when we arrived and still there after 4 nights, some mould around the bottom of the shower glass panel. They kick you out of the breakfast room shortly after 11am closing time even though they still have lots to do and us sitting there would not be in their way. It wasn't as if they were ready to leave but couldn't because we were still there. I could understand if that was the case. We had a business card from the shuttle service that took us from the airport to the hotel (20 € each for two of us = 40€) which said that going back to the airport with them would be a discounted price of 35 €. We asked the hotel to call them for us but they refused because they have their own shuttle which costs 50 €. There is no such thing as service with a smile in Rome. In restaurants be prepared to have bread put on your table and charged for whether you want it or not, even if you don't touch it, even if you ask them to take it away. Same with olives. They'll just stick it on your table and charge you for it. Wouldn't mind so much if the bread was nice. Its not. Overall the food in Rome is not nice and not cheap and not fresh. Everything they sell is either cooked from frozen or pre-packed foods. For the prices they charge I would expect better quality. The price of hotels and restaurants in Rome are the same as in uk, but the quality and service is nowhere near as good. Romes 4 star hotels are what would be 3 stars in England. So you would be getting 3 star quality at 4 star prices. I would not visit Rome again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Location is perfect. We stayed for 7 days and only had to take the subway once. Everything interesting in Rome is within 20 minutes walk. Rooms are relatively large and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing - awesome view from the 6th floor dining room! Highly recommended. Excellent value for $

It was convenient to many of the sights. The hotel transfer back to the airport was economic and convenient. The shower threatened to overflow if you had more than a light shower. The single room had a very small shower with a curtain that clung to you. It was usually an uphill walk back to the hotel.

Good location, close to metro and many bus lines, easy walk to Fountain Trevi and Spanish Steps, many restaurants close by. Room is small but nicely decorated, with matching wallpaper, curtains, and bed cover. Sound proofed and very clean. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Wifi signal is very weak in the room, very slow and hard to log on from time to time. The room is very small, with no sitting area, just a desk with a small flat screen TV on top, and only one chair! For the price of this four star hotel, I would expect a much bigger room with more facilities. We booked airport transfer from the hotel for the last day, thinking it would be more reliable, but big mistake! The driver was late for more than 20 minutes! He didn't even apologize for being late, just said: traffic was bad. Next time I would just call the taxi.

The breakfast room had a great view of the city. I found that the people at the front desk would answer questions...but they were very short with their answers....not all that friendly. Also, the shower that was in our room had mold in the folds of the shower door.

The room was very well designed. It was a small room, but did not feel small at all. It was very comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was attentive and friendly. They spoke English very well. The location was great - lots of choices of restaurants nearby. The hotel had a perfect blend of an old building and old style with a clean and crisp update. There was nothing I did not like about the hotel.

Location was great. Nice Rome location in Trevi neighborhood near bus stop. Lots of businesses and restaurants in the area. A great location for a visit to Rome. Staff was very accommodating and everyone spoke English. Hotel serves a fantastic breakfast (included in rate) on the roof-top and a late afternoon snack. Well kept. Rooms were on the small size- our friends' room was just bigger than a large closet though ours was adequate for a few days visit.

My friends and I enjoyed the hotel. The view from our room was wonderful. The breakfast was fine, the staff was perfect. We liked our double room a lot. We chose this hotel due to the description and reviews of the other guests. We are grateful to all the staff and the booking com. The single room of my friend was too little and she was disappointed and upset. The price for the single room was much more expensive then the double room and she didn't expect her room to be so small for the money she had paid.
