The Hotel Barberini was a real find. Located just a short walk from most everything we wanted to see. The staff were excellent and did much to help us with whatever our request -- always going above and beyond. The restaurants they suggested were out of the way, real world places with food that was fantastic -- so good we went back to some of them twice! It is a quiet neighborhood, just one block off the main road, in a beautiful setting.
Our only complaint was the Wifi -- and believe us, they worked hard to fix it. Once the problem was figured out (on day 3 of 3 unfortunately) it worked swell after that. Otherwise we had to go upstairs to the breakfast room, or down to the lobby, for it to work well -- and it did. I know there have been comments previously made about the wifi, but I have a feeling that should not be a problem any longer. There are routers on every floor and they can handle the load. Besides, you are in Rome to explore and have fun! Which we did to the fullest.
Lovely view at Breakfast. Helpful staff. Really easy to walk to most of the sights and some good eateries nearby.
Bit too much traffic noise for our room (front 1st floor). Rooms are compact.
The staff and location
restorane at breakfast and restorane staff the most positive thing about the hotel.
fighting for wi-fi, no connection to internet the bost time of my stay ( 6 days)
Central location. Two of the hotel staff very nice...the gentleman from Sardinia and the porter, both very helpful. The other front desk employees were rather rude. Full breakfast selection with a very scenic view from the top floor of the hotel. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.
Rooms very small, not much space to open up a suitcase. This hotel does not have a restaurant, it only serves breakfast. We tried several times to book the spa (sauna and hot tub) and on the last night when we finally had it reserved, the front desk man gave us different stories from 1. We double booked, you have to wait until later because someone else is there, 2. You never reserved the time, and 3. They are doing us a favor and letting us use it after hours. Mind you after hours meant after 10 pm. We took the third option because we had been wanting all week to use the sauna. The hot tub was probably not as clean or disinfected as it should be because the next morning we woke up with stuffed sinuses and goo in our eyes....something we had not experienced the entire stay until using the spa. The wifi is NONEXISTENT! The signal was weak in the lobby and nothing in the rooms. For 3 of the day's the Internet was down and we would have to go to other coffee shops or restaurants to check the Internet. Extremely annoying! Really not worth the price...nice hotel facilities overall but too many little things that do not make it worth the time or money.
The location is perfect for a Rome visit - everything is near and can be attended by walk. All the shops and good restaurants in the surroundings as well.
Wifi connection quite poor in the rooms.
Breakfast, breakfast room view
The location is perfect! walking distance to main city center, restaurants and metro. Breakfast was also good from quality, variety and also the external view! Personnel is very friendly and service oriented.
The bed was not good enough and also room set up as we asked for a double bed room but they offered only a two single bed one. Room was pretty small.
View over the city from the breakfast room at the top of the hotel.
Didn't like to be charged for use of the wellness area when it's not stated on the website. However it's reasonable priced for having the area reserved for yourself only (2 hours).
Traditional feel and breakfast on the roof. Comfortable room spoilt by lack of air conditioning.
Room too hot and not happy that air conditioning unavailable in Winter..told to open a window which feels like inviting all of Rome to drive through your room! Staff generally good but promised to suggest somewhere to eat on Christmas Day but never did despite reminders.
staff, cleaness of the hotel , location &breakfast
The worst staff with nightmare service attitude here have, the most sound-proof nothing room here have, the worst wifi here have.....how can match such a so called 4 star hotel n 5.5 star high price,ILL-MANNERED& UNFRIENDLY SOME STAFF MAKE THIS HOTEL NOTHING!
Breakfast is OK but the view front the 6th floor every morning worth a lot (Close to Metro (main line (Few minutes from Trevi (short walk
only location, nothing else
everything else, small & very tired room, awful smell in wardrobe (we couldnt even use it), AC not working at all!! Inaccurate cleaning which needed to be called to clean the room twice + they threw away my eye cream. Breakfast selection was not 4 star standard. Wifi had no connection near bed area, only room entrance & bathroom. Airport transfer car was very dirty and smelly (AC not working properly), although the driver lady was nice. Stayed in room 401. Will not book again and will not recommend this hotel.
They had a problem with their POS when we try to pay and the stuff treat us really bad when we explained that we already have a hold on those money. I had to call to the bank and explain what happen to cancel the payment. They already have all the details on my card. Anyway, everything else was ok, small rooms, but I expected to this. Breakfast was good, view from the restaurant very nice. Everything in the center was close. We walked to all the attraction points.
- proximity to metro, bus, spanish steps, trevi fountain, main station - breakfast and breakfast room - clean room and clean bathroom
- tiny room
Loved the location, helpful staff and lovely room
we liked everything!
6th Floor breakfast/dining room view over Rome Spa area (when available) Location Staff Breakfast
Twin beds pushed together and classed as the Double that I booked. Poor wifi. Rooms advertised as soundproof but are no such thing. Padded, yes, but also paper thin. Spa area not available because management took it over for a meeting all week.
Walking distance to sights and shopping. Close to metro. Nice view from breakfast room. Nice room
Some problems with wifi connection. Hard bed.
Location - breakfast room - breakfast - staff
No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Excellent location, breakfast room with view on Rome, a very friendly night shift reception employee. Immediate swap of room after complaining and service taking care of moving our luggage. Luxury car (same cost as regular but usually old or small taxi) to the airport.
First room: small room with no option to open the window above the kitchen ventilation with a smell...
The stairs,otherwise everything was great
We loved our room, the location is great.
We needed an electric kettle in our . room
proximity to everything including the tube station breakfast on the terrace
WIFI playing up refurbishment works on premises
