Location , in the old town close to the grotte and resturants. Great pool, charming staff, good breakfast. Big balconies.
Beds typically hard as is the case in many northern Italian hotels.
The air conditioning wasn't working. I asked at the reception and she said it was because it was raining. The other day it wasn't, but it still didn't work. Also, the mini-bar didn't cool, the vent from the bathroom didn't work, the safe had no key or place to put a padlock and there were actually bugs, alive, on the mattress. Plus I put a sign of do not disturb, because, without a safe, I had to leave my money and gadgets on the room, and they ignored it and entered, Luckily, nothing was stolen. And, as they charge you when you book and do not offer cancelation, my hands were tied.
It is situated right in the city center. And location is perfect. Rooms are small. It is alright for a short stay. Furniture in the rooms is old. Service is good. Brecfasts are also not bad
Small room. Old furniture
We asked, and paid for, a room with a balcony and view of the lake. We were on the third,(top) floor and the balcony was quiet, private, and had an excellent power operated sunshade.
We found the bathroom to be very small and the shower screen to be very poor quality for a four star hotel
The position of the hotel is fantastic. Cleanliness is very good. It was comfortable enough but no atmosphere unfortunately.
The staff weren't over helpful. The single glazed balcony doors shook whenever a door was shut so much so you thought it may shatter. The shower was over the bath which isn't a problem but the shower curtain didn't contain the water so the bathroom floor was flooded. The swimming pool looked clean but the loungers around it didn't look too welcoming. The hotel needed a total refurbish - it could be fantastic but of course the rates would therefore escalate!
Pool area was good and the hotel is in a great location. Breakfast on the sun terrace was lovely.
Hotel needs a refurb, very outdated a musty smell all over hotel.
The location made a very good base able to access Verona (Opera) by coach easily. Venice easyby train
Choice of breakfast could be more varied
Management & Staff, Location, facilities.
I couldn't stay longer, but I have just returned for a second visit!
Cleanliness Position in busy old town but quite peaceful. Walled garden pool
Hard uncomfortable beds Broken plug sockets No hot options for breakfast
Grait for family
Musty lift and room. two single beds pushed together as a double. Wall paper coming off the wall. Rotten door frames. Old chairs, table, fridge and pictures. No towels at the pool. The fact that this hotel was listed as a four star hotel and was also listed as such by booking.com.
Location View Air con Good car park The resident cat
The drive into old town Old fashioned Noisy kids in pool area Warm mini bar
I was very happy to discover the Hotel Broglia. It is located in the historical park of Sirmione and it has parking an a pool. The WiFi is without restrictions and it works quite well. Breakfast is full of choices and it is served in a nice big room. The rooms and hotel are a little "tired" but they are clean and functional. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel. Car: The hotel will leave your name at the guard post at the entrance of the village.
all was OK.
Dear Broglia, Thank you for making our time in Sirmione so special! Everything was perfect! Amazing location, helpful staff and cozy atmosphere. Valentina and Elena, you are the best! Thank you))) Tutte le strade portano a Broglia:) July, 2011 June, 2014 A presto!
Position of hotel was great. Nice breakfast. Hotel had lots of character
It is located in the old town -- a little challenging to drive to, but it's located in a wooded area close to the town shops and cafes, the spa and the Roman ruins. Our room had a view of the lake. They had parking on the property for our car. Nice public facilities for dining. Beautiful pool area.
No English language television stations (CNN, BBC). The wi-fi was a little weak.
Fantastic location in the middle of sirmione old city beside lots of restaurants and bars. Lovely pool area. Good selection for continental breakfast. Bedroom fairly basic but comfortable.
Driving to / from hotel is quite tricky going through busy narrow streets but you get used to after a while, best to travel early in morning or later in evening. Hotel was very quiet so not much atmosphere.
Nice pool, ok breakfast, nice location.
Hotel is old and shabby, needs to be renovated soon, it is absolutely NOT a 4-star hotel anymore, as it might have been at 70's. Now it is max.2+ stars, not even 3... By car it is very difficult to drive through old town, should be avoided, because narrow streets are crowded of walking tourists. Fridge didn't work, air conditioner didn't work properly and bathroom was very old-style.
The Hotel Broglia is a wonderful place to stay when visiting one of the loveliest areas of Italy. The staff could not be more welcoming or helpful. The buffet breakfast is very good, with fresh fruit, prosciutto crudo, breads etc etc. The location is perfect for wandering around Sirmione. Nice swimming pool.
Getting to the hotel requires navigating the very narrow street of the centro storico of Sirmione, which can be filled with tourists. Nothing the hotel can do about this, but just drive very slowly and carefully.
Hotel Broglia is a small hotel, but plenty big enough for our group of 17. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always fresh. The hotel is just a few metres walk from shops/restaurants etc. Short walk to ruins or ferry. Ideal location
good facilities helpful staff and a good lacation
The hotel is very "tired" needs updating
The staff were very helpful and the room was great. It did not have a lake view but was still great.
Air con did not work, but not a major issue.
Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Sirmione - would definitely recommend, especially if you want to visit Aquaria (the spa) as it is 2 minutes away!
The breakfast could have been better for the price of the room, but was still very nice.
