Hotel Calabona

Ondanks dat we een speciale boeking hadden werden we geüpgraded naar een mooiere kamer. Vriendelijk personeel

Schijnbaar gebruiken ze op heel Sardinië geen glaskit want het glas in de deuren naar het balkon rammelen enorm waardoor het onnodige herrie veroorzaakt als jij of je buren naar het balkon gaat.

Dicht bij een hangplek van jongeren, daardoor veel lawaai in de nacht

Locatie is op zich prima, maar het is ongeveer een kwartier tot 20 minuten lopen naar het centrum. Hotel heeft een eigen strand, dit is erg klein, lopen naar het grote strand in Alghero is zo'n half uur lopen. Checkout-tijd is 11 uur, maar goede mogelijkheid om aan het eind van de dag nog te douchen als je pas later vertrekt. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

Als je uitslaapt en de hotelkamer na 13:00 uur verlaat, wordt de kamer die dag niet meer schoon gemaakt. Je kunt bij de receptie dan wel schone handdoeken vragen maar voor een vier sterren hotel zou dit niet mogen. Hotel is vrij eenvoudig en dus eigenlijk vrij prijzig. Airco werkt niet optimaal. Fohn lijkt op een stofzuiger en werkt niet optimaal.

We were upgraded to a sea view room with a balcony which provided us with magnificent views. The staff were cheerful and helpful.

This hotel was classed as 4 star which it is not. Very tired with poor facilities and vastly overpriced.

It was clean, the madrasses good and the staff in the restaurant very friendly

Your website, and staff, tells you that the rooms has a wonderful seaview. It may be correct, but only for a few rooms.

The staff were really accomodating and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and basic, but perfectly adequate and cool. The showers were excellent.

The beach was a bit small and could have done with a tidy up.

The staf were excellent and after getting used to the slightly rustic accomodation we really warmed to the hotel. The breakfast sat overlooking the bay of alghero was simply stunning not to be missed -would definitely do it again

The rooms were a bit dark and cramped but that was part of the charm of the place - it wasnt the classic big chain hotel which could have been in any major city

Friendly staff and the rooms are well cleaned. The hotel keeps a overall very good standard (compared to many other hotels). Rooms a fairly recently renovated in a plain, but functional style - But the bathroom (which is half-way renovated) lack the same standard as the room itself, but okay. Better taps, porcelain, lighting and look & feel of the bathroom. I would recommend this hotel to others!

Three suggestions: 1) Beds are hard, especially for a tall nordic guy of 186 cm and ditto weight. 2) More protein food for breakfast? Grained bread? Etc. 3) What about a mini bus shuttle to/from the airport (which is very common in other countries)? This hotel is far out on the country side. I think this would give the extra advantage / edge over other 4 star hotels!! Even catch customers from the 5 star hotels! The public transportation is crap, and there are few and far between taxies - we had to wait for over an hour to get a taxi to the airport (even if we called several times to the taxi-company). We could have lost our flight, but we made it. I think we would have paid about 10 Euros p.p. for a trip from the airport.

All the staff were lovely - really friendly and very helpful. They were knowledgable about local events, restaurants and excursions and very polite. The room was big clean and had a balcony with a view of the pool and the sea. The room was simple rather than luxurios but more than sufficient. It was after all only a standard double so I imagine the superior rooms are more luxurious.

Nice rooms and nice surroundings. Very quiet and relaxing. It was very clean and well maintained.
