The location of the hotel was excellent, just a couple of blocks from the Piazza della Signoria and within easy walking distance of the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable and offered satellite TV with several English channels (not that we watch a lot of TV but it was nice to be able to catch up on the news at the end of the day). Breakfast was very good, the typical continental fare offered at most European hotels. The bathroom was fairly large, had a good amount of counter space and a nice big shower. I also noticed that they had several electrical outlets in our room, most hotels I have stayed in around Italy and Europe in general have very few outlets. I definitely plan to stay here again when I visit Florence and will recommend it to my friends as well. We had wifi available in our room and the connection was very good. However many if not most hotels at this level (our room was about $250 per night) offer free wifi. The charge was nominal, I think it was 7 euros for 5 hours of wifi (approx $10), but I think it should be included in the charge for the room as this is definitely not a low budget hotel.

We had a very nice stay at the Hotel Calzaiuoli, It was right smack bang in the heart of Florence's main attractions and very easy to walk to all of them.Very "Cosy" hotel, with very friendly staff....thankyou to all. The rooms were extremely small as was the bathroom, but you are only in them a small amount of time so wasn't a big problem and everything worked well.

The location! Absolutely brilliant being only 150m from the Duomo. The breakfast included in the price of the room was excellent. The room was serviced each day but not cleaned thoroughly, with various things left in the room that should have been thrown out eg. a wine bottle and some old newspapers that were clearly left to be thrown out.

It was great value for money because the price was very discounted, as we out of season. We could not have afforded and would not have wanted to pay the high season prices. Location was fab, staff were great, breakfasts very nice. Nothing -it was lovely but the price could be off-putting if it were high seson

Location Free internet Noise. Although the location is excellent, the noise of the street was so high you couldn't sleep with open window. When you close the window, the small room becomes airless. Uncomfortable and very small bathroom. Misleading photo on the internet. The photo of the bathroom is not comparable with the actual one. Small room. Uncomfortable bed. Crt tv. No lobby. Doesn't worth the price.

This hotel is right in the centre of Florence between the Duomo and the Palazzo Veccio on a pedestian only street. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable and the staff friendly and speak English. My friend and I enjoyed our stay very much, this was my second visit and we both hope to return. The only problem was that we had asked for a twin room and got a double.

The hotel was very well located for seeing the Uffizi, Duomo and other major sites in Florence centro. The breakfast (included) was excellent with eggs, ham, toast, juices and pastries. We had a good sleeping room ("classic") with shower, safe, refrigerator. The a/c worked well, but the television feed was somewhat variable. There was a room on the 1st that could serve as a bar, but it was not attended. WiFi was available but not free except to print boarding passes. It would have been nice to have a few more facilities, but of course, space is limited in the centro. It would better to offer free wifi in the rooms.

We booked two rooms. One was very spacious and decorated beautifully! The location was excellent. The second room we booked was tiny! We paid the same price as the other room and it was less than half the size! There was no turn down service at night. We found the staff chose to ignore us most of the time. When we asked about an exhibit at a local museum the man behind the desk had no clue of what we were talking about and made no attempt to find us an answer. Considering there are many other hotels in the area, I would recommend staying somewhere else!

Proximity to all places of interest, it is situated right at the shopping area. The service staff is very polite and helpful. The room is relatively new and modern. The breakfast room is too small.

The staff at Hotel Calzaiuoli were helpful and accommodating. The room exceeded our expectations for the price. The hotel is conveniently located on a busy street in the centre so many main sites are within walking distance.

The hotel is well located, clean, comfortable, pleasant with fair prices. The breakfast is complete without overeating. It was beyond our expectations. We recommend without hesitation. No complaints, but we can make a suggestion: a reform in the lobby would be fair enough with the whole hotel.

The position - best in the city The bed - rather uncomfortable for à pair. The breakfast - they run out of the stuff (especially fruits and vegetables) at 9 o'clock. The water for tea is often not boiled, but just warmed.

Excellent hotel, beautifully located 200 meters or so from the Duomo. In the city center, on attractive shopping and pedestrianed street. Wonderful access to most of Florence's many, many sights of interest. This is our second stay at the Calzaiuoli, and hopefully will not be our last. A real pleasure.

“There was not really anything that i did not like about the hotel or my stay at Laurus Al Duomo. It was excellent! But probably the best thing about this hotel is it location, 400m to the Central Train Station, a few hundred metres to the Cathedral and Tower, walking distance to everything, all the sites, shopping restaurants and street entertainment... just fantastic.” Ryan, Warana |
