Hotel Centrale  

We selected this hotel based upon positive reviews, and were not disappointed. The location is fabulous, a short walk from the train station, and an even shorter walk from the Duomo and Medici chapel, but down a quiet street. Our room was quiet and clean, although on the street level looking into an alley, so the view did not quite live up to the photos on the site. No matter, the shower was hot, the breakfast was better than average for Europe, the wifi internet free and fast, and the staff courteous and available 24 hours a day. Besides, it's Italy; when you're not asleep, you shouldn't be wasting the experience in any hotel room. It's not the Savoy, but for the much more affordable price we would highly recommend.

We liked its central location, only a short walk from the Duomo. The rooms were clean, light and airy, although quite small; the bathrooms were also very clean and the bath gel etc was topped up regularly.

The need to take a small elevator to the 2nd floor (no stairs up) was a nuisance, as it resulted in long waits, and the breakfasts were disappointing: especially the coffee machine which made pretty awful coffee. We had a problem in one of our rooms with a blinking light and loud clunk which we pointed out to the hotel but which was never fixed, so in one room the only way to sleep was by removing the key which made the room pretty stuffy.

Great location close to center of Florence. Nice modern Euro upscale room design with high ceiling and large bathroom/shower. Very nice breakfast. Convenient temporary luggage storage.

The staff is so great! They gave us a free upgrade to the king suite at no extra charge. My wife and I walked in and were so amazed with the room. The shower was much bigger than any other hotel in Europe. The free breakfast was great and even offered scrambled eggs for no extra! The location was so close to the main train station and the city! Moto Bono "very good!"

Fantastic! we found the hotel on the web and saw a website with older photos as well as the newer ones on booking.com so we were not quite sure what to expect, but the VERY central location and price gave us confidence to book. The Hotel was lovely, a 10min walk from the SM Novella station, the receptionist was welcoming and pleasant even though we had forgotten to bring our booking confirmation and spoke little italian! Clean comfortable room, lovely breakfast, and a 2 minute stroll to the Duomo, Excellent! there is a nice restaurant only 100m from the hotel the Osteria Rosso Cippola, friendly good service and nice food (we eat there on our first night and didn't get to the Osteria until about 10.00pm but were made to feel welcome).

Perfect location on a quiet side street- 5 minutes walk from the train station and about a minute away from the Duomo and shopping. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and decent breakfast.

The special off-season price and the location was perfect for our trip to Florence for the weekend. The bed and room was very comfortable and breakfast was more than adequate.

Only down-side really was the 22 euro car parking fee for 24hrs but this seems to be a necessary evil of taking a car into central Florence.

Staff was very very friendly and helpful, starting from offer to leave a luggage in wardrobe before check in, ending with printing boarding passes! Rooms interior is superb! And hotel location is convenient in every way, few minutes walk from a train station and few minutes walk to gorgeous city center. Thanks for a nice host!
