Score from 865 reviews Wonderful
Situated near to one of the now demolished gates in the wall which once surrounded the city, the hotel was established from the renovated home of a well-known family of Florentine merchants.
Score from 555 reviews Very good
Very well located, close to all the main places.
Lovely little place in Firenze. Defenitely will be back!
The lift, oh lah lah, we carry our luggages by hand to the room... as the lift only work fro Ground to 5th Fl.
This hotel was the perfect location for us - close to train station.
bed and pillows too firm for my taste, but that seems to be the trend in Italy, after traveling there for two weeks. This hotel was the nicest value and sweetest room of our entire trip.
The manager was helpful & gave us the best information about the areas we wanted to visit ..
Having to walk upstairs but that is typical of Italy
Excellent staff, very friendly & helpful, rooms was very clean.
Very comfortable and clean hotel in brilliant location for exploring Florence. Spacious room and good bathroom.
Our room had an interior balcony with a very italian flavoured view. Lovely. Cleanliness; Location; the great attention of Giovanni, the receptionist; The breakfast was complete from the espresso machine, fruits, juices... self service and very well organized in a small cozy space.
Absolutely nothing to dislike. I only wish we could've stayed more days...
This is a good value hotel in an excellent central location with really helpful staff.
Breakfast was limited and served on paper plates and plastic cutlery -
Location great. Nice staff, gave us good recommendations on places to eat.
Street noise early morning.
The bed! Good location and reasonable breakfast spread
A little difficult to find at first
Comfortable. Lovely staff. Brilliant location. Warm. Clean. Spacious. Would love to go back!
Outdoor hotel sign looks like a lap dancing club. Public toilet opposite and often very unseemly men glare as you walk past it as they loiter in the doorway...awful.
great location. room spacious also the bathroom was good.
room was cold, heating came on the day we left would have liked to have some world service channels on the TV rather than just italian channels
Location, comfortable room size for 4 adults , clean and very quiet area in the center of Florence. Walking distance from the train center and everything else.
Lift goes up one floor and if your room is on the higher floor you will need to bring your luggages up. Breakfast area can get very crowded.
Friendly staff. The hotel is located near to many good restaurants.
Small bathroom cubicle. The bath towels were of a stiff material which made them lousy for drying.
Front entrance is so so but inside is very nice and typical of Florence
A bit noisy outside until 1 am ...
Lovely rooms Central location - right by the central market Great, solid WiFi - the best we found in Italy Helpful staff
Central means a bit noisy Very basic breakfast
The staff (Giovanni and Nadine) could not have been more helpful, the location (right in the heart of the historical centre; very close to the Mercato Central (restaurants) was excellent. The staff arranged parking and explained how to negotiate the restricted zone.
The room was rather sparse, although clean, comfortable and with adequate amenities. We did book very late and this was possibly the last room left. We'd like to stay again in a more interesting room.
Room was large Lift if needed Central location Security Bathroom
Breakfast room was a little small
Very nice room and hotel. Staff was super helpful. Location close to many sites. Good value
We took a cab from train station and glad that we did. Congested area and a bit of a challenge to find otherwise.
First and foremost the owners. Giovanni and Nadine, the couple that manage the place are so sweet, welcoming and helpful. The location is just superb, right in the center and close to everything. The room was very nice and we felt so comfortable coming back at the end of everyday after long walks on the city.
The breakfast is a bit too simple, but we didn't care as we loved exploring different cafes in the city in the mornings. Either way it was very similar to the breakfasts we got in every other place in Italy.
Easily reached from the station and an excellent position for the main sights, local restaurants and the central market with its entertaining first floor food stations, lovely little roof top terrace.
I really dislike my breakfast cereal from a plastic spoon, a bit of decent cutlery would make breakfast far more satisfactory. As expected, the position close to the market meant noise as the stall holders drag their metal stands along the street morning and evening. The city waste collectors pass about 10.30pm which isn't too bad. Once white curtain definitely needs laundering.
Breakfast or lack of
Staff very helpful and friendly
Rooms had utterly no sound proofing. We got no sleep despite the hotel being on a quiet road.
Comfortable bed, really lovely and interesting room, charming building, great location, best value around Florence. Most of the major attractions are nearby and the main bus & train station are only 15 minutes(at most) walk away. I couldn't find another centrally located hotel at a price this low and the value is great by Florence standards.
breakfast room can feel crowded but that didn't detract much from the overall good experience because the value and general charm of the building and pleasant staff more than compensated for that one small detail. The breakfast is adequate, however.
