Fairly good location. The redeeming feature of this hotel was the roof terrace - excellent for New Years Eve fireworks.
The room was very small compared to other hotels I have stayed in in Rome. It was very cold and we begrudgingly were given extra blankets. The wifi was hopeless. The car organised to collect us from the airport was a rip off and a near death experience (130kms through the streets of Rome!!!!)
Its central location to catch the hop & hop bus which is 5 mins away. They are ample restaurants/cafes around the hotel to treat yourself. Also souvenir shops & yummy ice creamery. We love the Hotel breakfast too (not too big but more than sufficient). The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's our first visit to Rome so having a helpful customer service team at Reception really helped us find our way around the place & also guide us to our next destination. We reached our next destination (Lake Como) safely with the hand written notes from Fluval. Thanks very much Fluval.
View from our balcony was excellent. Close to Termini and cavour stations, walking distance of most major attractions.
Bed was a bit hard , would have prefered a duvet as we visited in December and it was a wee bit cold .
I just came back from Rome, during this visit I stayed at Hotel Colosseum, everything in the room was nice and clean, I do believe I haven't seen a analog safe since 1997, seen it here though. The personnel are very nice, helpful, and professional. The breakfast is very nice for europe, they had salami, cheese, croissants, cakes, yogurts, cereal, coffee (all u have to do is asking), tea, water and juice. The internet worked very well, The wifi router was outside my room, a great plus. The area was really quite for the location. Very close to the bars of Monti neighborhood, which is great! The hotel located 5 minutes from the Colosseum, 8 minutes from Piazza Venezia, 6 minutes from Termini, so if you don't have too much luggage you can just walk from termini through Via Cavour, pass Esqulinnio, and on your left you will see steps just go up the stairs and few meters after the steps take right, you will see the hotel. Enjoy your vacation!.
My reservation was a room for one person with double bed, but instead had 2 single beds, the room was pretty small but for one person it was good enough. I stayed in the 2nd floor even though I asked for upper floor when I made the reservation, but i guess all the other rooms were already booked, and must I say I might not had a landscape view but it was a quite room and I stayed there mostly for sleeping, so it didn't really matter.
Nice breakfast Nice toilet
The room is a bit small
Air con free. Safe free. Breakfast excellent Close to very good restaurant and bar/cafe Use the tour bus as your taxi service. 24 euro for 48hrs excellent value
Only problem was the plug in the bedroom the usual two pin plug didn't work Wasn't aware the room would cost more per night due to the new tax imposed by authorities
The hotel was very clean, and the staff relatively polite. The entire place, including the rooms, is very clean. It is close to some tourist destinations. Access to public transit is good. The free breakfast if very nice.
The daytime desk clerk was older and less than personable. We arrived early, and they did let us store our bags in a room designated for that purpose. But, the door to that room was unlocked, out of sight of the front desk, and right next to the elevator. When we retrieved our bags, they made no attempt to verify that they were ours (or that we were even guests of the hotel). I travel with one of those U-shaped bicycle locks to secure our bags on trains when we have to store them out of our sight. So I locked our bags to the rack (I would suggest one of these if you are traveling by train. They won't stop a determined theif, but they will deter an opportunistic one). The general atmosphere of the hotel is old school stuffy. Not bad, just not very warm. The neighborhood is a mix of locals and tourists, and many of the locals are a bit sketchy. We left after finding a better location. It is not at all bad, just not great, especially for the cost. There are better choices in Rome, but it fine if you are in a pinch (as we were). Also, the closest grocery store is one of the most disgusting stores I have ever encountered in Europe.
Hotel is in a fantastic location. 6 mins walk from Termini station. Walking distance to top 10 attractions. Staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Location and the break fas5
Very small bathroom
The Location was excellent, just 5 min from the main terminal. We asked for a room near the top and were given one with a terrace providing fantastic views across Rome. 2 mins from metro to get you around the city. Rooms cleaned every day to high standard. Service desk very helpful with recommendations where to eat and general information if you un-prepared for your trip. Recommend having a drink on roof terrace to watch sun set and heading out for dinner. Will go back, 2016 in mind!
The fact that you are in the center is great.
I booked this hotel because the room shown on the picture was a double size bed with a room with a balkony and a rooftop terrace. Well i paid 180 EUR a night. When i was there the reality faced me. One small military size bed with springs. Not confortable. Really small room on the 1st floor. No balcony no view as shown on the picture, a lot of noise from the other rooms and from the other neighbors and i was not able to sleep for 3 days. I wish i knew a mercure was not far away and i would have paid more to enjoy my stay in rome or at least sleep.
After a little trouble finding the hotel it turned out to be a great location for getting around, choice of restaurants and shops. The hotel staff were pleasant and very helpful, rooms small but spotless, good variety at breakfast and rooftop bar was a must after a long day of sight-seeing.
The hotel was difficult to find when we first arrived in Rome.
Location . roof garden. staff. breakfast
Room very small and was not laid out as twin on arrival as expected and requested. Manager on duty did not look to change this although acknowledged that we should have been provided with a twin, confirmed he had information. No tea/coffee making facilities.over priced for facilities and space
The staff at reception were very polite and friendly - their english was very good, especially one of the evening staff who had lived in England. They were willing to help with any questions and offered to print off tickets. The roof garden was a welcome break at the end of a hot day and you could get drinks sent up if you wanted them. Breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from and the coffee was good.
Good location close to Colluseum and nice neighborhood restaurants and cafes. Great rooftop area perfect for evening picnics or glass of wine while looking out over the city. Lovely buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Basic rooms but clean and good value for money.
Location Large bathroom Helpful staff Good breakfast included
Room a little small
All the staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. In general the hotel was very clean and we had a lovely room with a brilliant view. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend and definitely book the hotel again.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk away from both a Metro station and the hop on/hop off bus. The breakfast is very extensive.
The beds weren't that comfortable and the hotel itself is located on sketchy looking street.
Location, roof top terrace, excellent view of Rome
Would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Spacious, clean room in a quiet area. The roof terrace was a great place for an evening drink and watching the sunset over the city.
Wifi was patchy at best in the room but was exacerbated by a Telecom Italia fault with the line to the premises, that lasted nearly a day.
The location was excellent .. staff help full and friendly... great views from the roof garden.
Breakfast, Rooftop, Room, Staff, Clean, Very sweet Hotel, near to Metro Station
Diego and Massimo arranged for a driver for our party of six adults with tons of luggage from Rome airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the cruise port, from the train station back to the hotel, and from the hotel back to the Rome airport. We could not find an agent in the US who would do this service for us. So good with restaurant recommendations also and helpful with airline boarding passes. The view from the rooftop is spectacular and the breakfast is very European and it was greatly enjoyed. Highly, highly recommend for the value.
Great hotel liked the rooftop area.
Was hard to find at first and the small hill to get to it..
Myself along with my mother and sister had an amazing time in Rome, and this was further enhanced by our hotel experience. The staff are abosolutley amazing, so kind and helpful, we even woke up late for breakfast on one day, and the kitchen staff brought everything back out again for us after clearing it away, where there is a good choice of different food for breakfast. In addition, as mentioned the staff were very helpful with giving good advice and directions, they even provide you a map and key directions and attractions upon arrival, but the location is also excellent. 5-10 minute walk to the colloseum, 2 minute walk to the local metro station. Will be likely to return again.
Wifi wasn't particularly too good on the higher floors and was non-existent on the terrace. Very good downstairs and lower floors though.
