Hotel degli Orafi    

The location was ideal; literally on the Lungarno 1 minute (I.E. 60 seconds at a reasonable pace) from the Ponte Vecchio, and in the other direction, 30 seconds to the Uffizi Gallery. The hotel was charming, old world with a classic lift, an elegant breakfast room for the included breakfast (which was ample, with eggs, smoked salmon and meats, breads and cereals, fruits, fresh juice, yohgurt, coffee, etc.), and best of all, an intimate top floor bar/lounge with a dramatic view of the Duomo and Palazzo Signoria. Staff were friendly. I happened to stay in a small room, the very last one left as a I made my reservation on short notice, but it was clean and well appointed.

Again, I made my reservations at the last minute and got the only available room, and so can't complain, but was a bit disappointed that it had no bathtub. Be sure to ask in advance if you want one. The concierge staff were friendly, but recommendations were not entirely to my liking - seemed to point you to more "trendy" restaurants, good, but let them know clearly if you prefer traditional Florentine settings.

Gorgeous Hotel! We loved Florence and our hotel! Overlooking the Ponte Vecchio with a lovely breeze coming through the open window! Returning after strolling through Florence in the evening to complimentary t-shirts and a weather forecast on our pillows! Staff was very nice and the hotel absolutely lovely!

The hotel was love, staff friendly and very helpful. Am looking forward to my next visit.

everything It was exquisitely beautiful- marble bathrooms, venetian plaster, beautiful sheets, and furnishings in the rooms and in the leisure areas. The bar /restaurant on the top floor was an oasis away from a very crowded city - the location was excellent- an easy walk to everywhere and a lovely view of the river and the ponte vecchio

the fact that they charge extra for internet.

Location of hotel is superb. Bar terrace has splendid views. Breakfast location special and food choice very good

We upgraded for a River view,stayed in room 303 , which was a beautiful and very comfortable room---with zero view of the river.Unless you were on the fourth floor,I have no idea what waranted the 90 euros upgrade.When I called the lobby to state my displeasure,I was told it was a Riverview.If I stood on a chair and looked to my extreme left side of the window I was able to see a speck of water.

Delicious buffet breakfast, rooftop terrace overlooking the Arno. Incredible location right next to ponte vecchio.very helpful barman who recommended some great places to eat!

Temperamental elevator not stopping at floors.

Excelllent for Honeymooners. We were given an upgrade and free champaign upon arrival. The location is VERY good. Classy hotel for everyone!

The bed was horribly hard. We only complained when we were checking out. We were told they had something to make the beds softer (maybe foam?). I wish we had known, but then we didn't think they could do anything short of changing the matteress.

Minor complaint: Room was cold and temperature is controlled centrally by front-desk. Had a hard time getting the temperature right.

The hotel was clean, is in a convenient location, has excellent facilities, and has very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

The downside was that room 54, where I stayed, was dark because nearly all its windows look to an inward. An upside of course is that the room was wonderfully quiet. As overall this is a pleasant hotel, I would recommend booking early and asking for an street facing room.

The staff are very good

The staff at Hotel degli Orafi knows Florence and is wonderful, all the way from front desk to breakfast server and baggage valet! There was never a doubt that someone would be at the front desk to help us in any way, whether it was with a reservation or with directions. They always greeted us with a smile, so matter how busy things got. A plus!

We had a fabulous room with Arno river view, but it was on the first floor, so the street noise was significant. The revelers would calm down at reasonable hours on weeknights, but on Friday night they went on long into the night. If longing for the "room with a view," perhaps it is better to go higher in the hotel to escape some of the noise.

We loved the location. When asked the staff was helpful but needed to be asked. The stake on the rooftop was especially helpful and engaging.

We had not booked apartment accomodations in the renovated tower and although we appreciated the spacious accommodations I would have preferred having the choice of these rooms or rooms in the older part of the building.

The best location in Florence

The degli orafi was very convenient for galleries and museums. By the river. My room was light and spacious, I was upgraded from standard. If booking make sure you ask for room with a view. Breakfast was very good.

It was very hard to drive to as many roads were closed for a wedding nearby. My friends' room was at back of hotel, very dark and no view.

The location was outstanding and value for dollar above average. The breakfast was outstanding and balcony views breathtaking. Will definitely recommend and return. Hor'dourves were outstanding at the bar.

The location is excellent. The breakfast is better than most European breakfasts. The bathroom had heated floors and it was spacious.
