Hotel Doge  

De rustige ligging van het hotel en toch niet ver van het centrum en de toeristische attracties. Een zalig bed om na een lange, drukke dag in slaap te vallen.

The location is not too bad. It is not far away from ferry stop S. Stae (Line No. 1).

This is an old hotel. This family runs hotel has one female person cannot speak English. Her service manner is no good. Hotel locks the main entrance gate at night and you have to ring the bell as ask one person to open it for you when it is late. The single room is quite small. No elevator. You will need the torch when you want to go downstairs cause it is dark inside and the light switch is hard to reach.

Its a good cheap option. The place was pretty much empty and I only saw 2 other guests the whole two days I was there. Its very very quiet and the staff is nice. Its easy to find and very close to the train station. The single rooms are small but its not a problem if all you want is a bed. The best part by far is that they deliver breakfast (croissant, bread, various spreads and good coffee) to your room every morning included in the price. Recommend as a cheap option.

Shocking price for hotel of this standard - if I went to venice for longer I would never pay that much for this hotel. But you pay premium prices for everything in Venice

The hotel is in walking distance from Santa Lucia train station, and in general the location is not bad. The staff was friendly.

The room in general was of poor quality (E.G. furniture). In particular, the bed was really uncomfortable for a couple. The shower is tiny - will fit small people only. Quite a lot of stairs, and no lift. No internet.

Hotel Doge is located within 5 minutes walking distance from Venice central train station. The lady who greeted us was very friendly and thorough in explaining our room and breakfast. Breakfast is bought to the room, between 8am and 10am. A crossiant and a roll with a choice of spreads and a hot drink, plus some biscuits and crackers. Excellent location for walking around - food options near the hotal are cheaper than the Rialto or San Marco. We walked everywhere most places are within 30 minutes, which for us was fine. Air conditioning in the room was excellent.

No english channels on the tv and no wifi.

Convenient for all the main sights in Venice and very close to the stations. It has a friendly feel for a small hotel.

Location - the hotel was close to the railway station and the vaporetta. Walking distance to St Mark's Square and most other popular sites

The Doge is not a hotel - it is a pension. There is no lobby or dining room so breakfast is served in your room. We booked a triple room and the third bed was a camp stretcher and conditions were very cramped. The beds were unbearably uncomfortable,leading to sleepless nights. The room and bathroom were not very clean and there were not enough towels. This hotel is not good value for money. I have stayed on the Lido on two previous trips and have been satisfied with the standard of accommodation and would not recommend staying on Venice in this price bracket

The wonderful hotel staff. Very nice and friendly.

The room was infested with mold. The bathroom ceilings and the carpet all outside of the bathroom had black mold. I tried to explain to the front desk about it, but I don't think they full understood how mold forms. They just told me to keep the shower door shut so the water didn't get on the floor.

The staff were excellent, very helpful, friendly and easy going. Our room and the bathroom were clean

The room was a bit on the small side (for 3 people plus a baby).

The location was ideal for exploring the sights and the hotel staff were so friendly and would go out of their way to help
