Hotel DuomoPiazza Duomo 1, Duomo, 50122 Florence (Show map) Excellent, Score from 290 reviews“Alberto, the owner was great! The location was absolutely superb...central to everything. The room was not fancy but it was very clean. Would definately recommend this hotel. ”

Take a second look at Hotel Duomo's address. No other accommodations in Florence boast such proximity to the Cathedral and the same outstanding views from the majority of rooms. The Hotel Duomo is set in Palazzo Gondi, a 14th century building located in the heart of Florence, directly on the Cathedral square. The building has an elevator. Hotel Duomo is surrounded by many of Florence's landmarks, and close to all the others. The area is also famous for exclusive shopping. Enjoy the quiet of double glazed windows in your room, start your days on a rich buffet breakfast and get ready to explore Florence. Hotel Duomo offers special terms at a nearby garage. There is a Dutch speaking receptionist. Hotel Rooms: 24

At the last minute, Our us airline cancelled our flights to begin a cruise. We were forced to meet the ship in Florence (Livorno) instead of Spain. We made a hasty reservation at Hotel Duomo, and our reservation was handled in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. The staff went "above and beyond" to help us. We are very happy that we chose this hotel out of the many available in Florence.

Hotel is perfect for a city break. Rooms were extremley clean, not overly large but very comfortable and newly decorated to a high spec. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Anything we asked them always provided assistance. Even provide a nice light breakfast with a decent coffee from the bar. Could not recommend this hotel enough. Not that I didnt like it but im sure some people would whinge!.. The lift up to the 4th floor is a bit on the small side, only 2 people can fit in so if your travelling with a large family & lots of luggage or in a wheel chair is worth noting it is a squeeze to travel up in ...but at least there is a lift hey !! as some in Florence dont have that luxury.

I loved the view of the Duomo from my hotel room # 40. It was excellent! And I loved the central location. We were within 5 minutes of walking to both the Accademia and Ponte Vecchio and another few minutes to the Uffizzi. I loved it - Thank you so much!!!

Location is very good. Hotel staff information aboujt dinner was superb. One of the best meals I have ever had at local trattoria on Bella Donna Ave. Room was cozy and very clean with uber modern bathroom. Memorable tub with spouse helped the whole vacation settle. So, would stay again, surely.

Cozy hotel, attentive help, great location. Reminded me of the book "a Room with a View". Excellent for a short stay in the city The room wasn't worm enough and the hair dryer didn't work properly. The third bed was not comfortable. At night the outside area is not very friendly and dark.

A nice little hotel in a fantastic location, literally facing the Duomo. Great for sigthseeing and shopping. Very nice staff, decent size, pleasantly furnished rooms (ours had a neat liitle balcony witht he fantastic view of the Duomo). Excellent breakfast included in price (not a common thing in Italy). The location has its downsides - the street noises can be quite loud at night.

The staff were absolutely first class and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the hotel was just next to the Duomo. The bedroom was small and not memorable. It was quite expensive for the room.

The staff was very nice and helpful. They made me feel very welcome. The location is great. It is directly across from the Duomo. My room did not have Ny views but many of them do. The location is perfect, in the center of everything. Equal distance to the train, Ponte Vecchio, all the great shopping and wonderful restaurants everywhere. I booked through this site, got a great rate of 100 euro and even when I changed reservation last minute, the same price was kept. Overall a very good stay and I will stay her again. Only location of room. Was near hall bathroom so was a little noisy at night. And there was no fan in the room to ventilate Air. But for the price, no complaints. And there are other rooms you can recommend.

Superb location! Right in the centre of everything, beside the Duomo. Pleasant and helpful staff; loved the ancient lift, reminiscent of "The Third Man" and cold-war Europe! Our room was very clean, comfortable and a reasonable size. The wi-fi is free (despite what it says on the website and hotel information pack), however, I had difficulty logging on using an iPhone: the network was not remembered automaticaly and the only way to re- connect seemed to be to power the phone off completely, then log on again with the password. If you are a light sleeper, be prepared to be woken at 7 am by the Duomo bells.

The staff was very cordial and helpful. The room was clean and attractive. The location is great. Right in the center of the old town, next to the cathedral, shopping district, and a few good restaurants. Just 2 blocks from the Academie and the statue of David.

Convenience to the Uffizi and Academy museums and the delightful Catharina who answered all of our questions, greeted us cheerfully on arrival and helped make our visit memorable. Take good care of her. In your list above of descriptors please add museums and historical sites.

Location was excelent, room was very spacious and beautiful with many windows with the gorgeous view of the Duomo! The airconditioning was shut off being that it was the month of October and the nights are cool but during the day the temperatures would be in the mid 20 celsius,it was a bit too warm during the sunny afternoons. Wish we were given the option to turn on the air conditioner when we needed to.

We loved it on both our visits for all the above reasons plus splendid staff, good atmosphere, pleasant to come into at any time of the day. The breakfast was fine and the staff there very pleasant as were the desk people. Honestly we have no negative feedback at all. You gave us the room we asked for (27) thus ensuring that we could be enveloped by bells and the sounds of Florence every morning. Signor pasti enabled our minibus exit, for which we are very grateful. Grazie per tutti!!

The hotel was centrally located (in front of the Duomo) and near everything for tourists. "Most" of the staff was very helpful. Breakfast buffet was fairly standard for Europe. Difficulty with parking, approach to the hotel, getting an iron (no ironing board).Windows faced the Duomo was great!. Unable to give directions to hotel over the phone.Basically impossible to drive to the hotel, do not try to do so. It would have helped if the hotel had mentioned they were right next to the Duomo. Bad attitude upon arrival, kept trying to explain why they were correct with their inability to give simple directions.. Parking garage they have an "aggeement" with is very expensive and broke my stick shift while they had my car.Elevator not reliable, would break periodically. Seemed "put out" when asked for an iron, then had to iron clothes on a table as there was no ironing board.Waiting for garage to bring car and asked for coffee (they have a bar) but was told, "no, breakfast was over". When asked front desk, "no problem", told hostess to make us a cup of coffee while we waited. This should paint a good picture of the atmosphere. "Most" of the receptionists would go to full lengthes to explain, recommend activities. Oh, one more thing, shower head was very poor quality and for the price I would have assumed at least replace it with a new one!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. You are only a few feet from the Duomo. Our room had a cute balcony. We got reliable free wi-fi. The coffee with breakfast was tasty and plentiful. There is no parking and the hotel cannot be reached by a private car due to one way streets and public transit only lanes. It's quite a hike up the 5 sets of stairs if the elevator is broken or in use. The free breakfast wasn't much.

The room is clean and comfortable even if a bit small. The breakfast was quite good. The proximity to everything in the heart of the city was perfect! I like the fact that the rooms are updated. The rate at the hotel, for such a location and what is provided, is very attractive. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would return if the hotel where I normally stay is fully booked. The shower is extremely small, and this is from a person who, although tall, is not big at all. There are rooms on the 3rd floor and the fifth floor but no elevator services to these floors. Didn't like that too much, but won't prevent me from returning.
