The rooms were clean, and smelled great. The room had a large closet, a working safe and a large flat screen TV. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice (think continental+ pastries, bacon, scrambled eggs, etc.). Great location, super close to all the major sights, and only 10-15 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is located on the 4th floor of a building, and the old, characteristic elevator is an added experience. Francesca at the front desk was very nice.
First night we arrived around 11 pm, we asked the gentleman at the reception if we could find something to eat in close vicinity of the hotel (nothing fancy obviously, we made that clear). He told us he didn't know, and that it was unlikely given "it was late for Florence". We almost took his word for it and stayed in. But since we were starving we decided to at least stroll around (luckily!!). There was actually a pizza place RIGHT NEXT to the hotel (which is open until 4 am every day, apparently)! The late night shift at the reception could and should be a bit more knowledgeable, and at least have an idea of what's around in 50 m vicinity of the hotel. Also, we booked a room with a view, but actually it was more like a room with a balcony, and when you go out on the balcony and glance sideways, you get a partial view. The pictures with the view on the website are apparently of the "triple room with a view", so don't get your hopes up thinking you will get a similar view from your room if you book a double - you won't.
