Hotel Stella Alpina  

Location near Ferrovia and great breakfast

Very old, dingy looking, no elevator

She is the nicest person we met in italy since we arrived on 14th may. (she is the one who accommodated us on 16May, around 10am). The location is veryhandy to the train station and water bus.

We liked the hotel and we will still choose the place if we go back in Venice, the only thing is that, they don't have a lift and it is hard for those people like us who use to bring plenty and huge bags on holidays.

The hotel has no lift and as we had 2 really huge luggages, my husband had to Climb up 5 stores with 1 luggage at a time. And the hotel staff were very unfriendly and gave us the "just too bad we have no lift you have to Climb up the stairs look". They were very unhelpful. Moreover, the hotel is very run down and the pics online definitely look much nicer than it really was. So If u have big luggages... It's better not to Book this hotel.

I spent one night in Stella Alpina, The location is excellent as it is very close to the centre train station just 2-3 minutes walking and the staff were helpful, although the room and bathroom were small but comfortable for just overnight stay, the breakfast was regular for two star hotel.

The staff were good, they spoke English and were helpful. The breakfast was excellent as was the breakfast room which led on to a garden courtyard were you could sit. It is extremely well located in relation to the main train station in Venice and really is just a 5 minute walk. The ferry stops nearby and the area is well serviced with cafes and restaurants. Great idea having a hot drinks machine in the hotel and it does make good coffee, chocolate and hot milk. The was ample storage space for clothes and floor space for extra bags, and the in room safe was a bonus as was the special luggage storage facility just off the lobby.

Our room could have used one more power point for recharging phones, cameras etc.

Only good thing about this place is it's location. I don't like the room, very old and the bed is not very comfortable. It's not good value for money.

Great location for us due to our late arrival into venice from the railway station and when we had to depart early in the morning, getting to the railway station was not to much of a hassle as it was just 5 minutes walk to the station. Great buffet breakfast with a good selection choice of goodies. Also we had a room on the ground floor which gave us a view of the garden in the backyard of the and we could hear the morning birds chipping which was great.

Location, location, location! A stone's throw from the Railway station, and everythibng else. Perfect as a stopover stay for people cruising out of Venice!

Cosy, comfortable, easily accessible and quiet!

Hotel Stella Alpina - I loved the location that was very near the train station, and the price. The staff were very nice and keep our luggage in the last day just for us continue visiting the city. The breakfast was excellent.

The location was good and the staff polite

Did not in the least like the concept of shared bathroom between different rooms.I Wonder how this is permitted by even health authorities. However it would be good if you can high light this aspect before booking. I simply missed this out.

The hotel was close to the train station which was important for me. It was also the only hotel I've stayed in Italy that received and tranferred calls to my room and even informed me when I had a missed call from a friend. I stayed on the first floor in an upgraded single room. Furnishings were old but the bathroom was big and new. The staff speaks good English which helped me a lot when I have to inform them I can't make it on my first night there because of the snow storm. They offered to extend my stay for another night to make up for my missed 1st night but sadly I can't accept the generous offer as I have planned tours to catch in Rome. I will definitely use this hotel the next time I visit Venice.
