We found Hotel Europeo to be a very comfortable, quaint, clean and well located hotel for budget travellers. The rooms were quite small, but everything was immaculate, the beds comfortable and (for a European inner city hotel) the bathroom was spacious. The staff were friendly and patient with our lack of Italian, and there was someone at reception 24/7, so we were able to leave luggage there on our last day. The location is good as well; a 5-10 min walk to the nearest metro, and lots of little bars and pizzerias close by. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. It has everything you need. I would recommend this hotel. The rooms are quite small- so if you are looking to relax in your hotel room all day long, you may want to consider staying somewhere else- but we didn't find this an issue at all because we were out sight-seeing all day. But people should be aware of that if they're looking to spend a lot of time there. Also- it is very hard to find. If you are considering staying here, use the following instructions on how to find the hotel: Take the metro to 'Dante station' and, upon existing, walk down the slope of Via Toledo (to the left) until you reach an intersection with Via Pasquale Scura. Via Toledo forks at one point, but you can take either street, it should still intersect with your next turn as it's not a long walk. Turn left onto Via Pasquale Scura (it changes names to Via Benedetto Croce, don't be confused!) and follow that until you reach Via Mezzocannone and turn right down that street. The Hotel is at number 109c, which is directly opposite the University entrance with some big columns. There is a small undercroft area with a cafe/bar, the hotel is through the gate at the right of the undercroft, you will need to push the intercom to be let in. We got quite lost on our way there- and that would be my only complaint, but if you follow these instructions, you should be fine! :) Look up these directions on a map before you get there so you know what I'm talking about!

the hotel lies between the port and the railway station. Actually it is more easy to take boats to Capri, but a little far from the railway station. So it depends on ourselves. it is a little difficult to find it.

The location was very good: in the old city, but not in the creepy part of it.Also the room had all necessary things in it: bathroom, hairdrier, hot water, soap, etc. The rooms are not silent proof at all, I strongly suggest everybody to get some earplugs if you don't want to hear in the middle of the night all the excitement of some teenagers geting back from a party and continuing it in the room next door. The heating in our room didn't work so we had to use all 3 blankets if we wanted to keep the window a little bit opened for ventilation, since the room is small and the air gets stiff really fast. It was february.

Located in the old town and central to many churches and the cathedral. Decent sized shower, safety deposit box in room, proper bedside light. WiFi access in room altho not always a good connection The walk up the road from the bus stop on Corso Umperto is steep and broken cobbled. The station is a little to far to walk especially with a case. I had to ask at reception for remotes for the tv and air con after I arrived at the room as they were not given at check in. Also the safe box key. The hotel is in a gated alley and I was at the gate (down 4 floors and along the alley) before I realised the gate didn't have a release lock. Had to go back to the hotel and ask to be told there is a release button half way down the alley. This could have been advised on check in.

The room was cosy, nice and clean and it had two big mirrors and the air-condition worked well. There was also a fan in the ceiling and you could open the window (but I don't recommend it because of the smell of garbage on summer time). The bath room was clean and ok too (but quite hot and moist) and you could keep the door closed. The wifi worked quite well, but I had to sign in many times with my Nokia mobile phone, ´cause it stopped working after 5 minutes being on the same site. The personnel was nice and helpful and they spoke quite good English. It was really excellent that I could leave my luggage there for one night (when I was in Capri). They also ordered a taxi for me, when I was leaving. The place was easier to find that I expected. There was one doorbell on the gate and another one on the main door of the building, then you have an elevator to 4. floor. The area was quite peaceful and safe, at least better than the area near the main railway station. By night it was not so nice to walk to the hotel because of the darkness (and scary looking small alleys nearby), but you don't have to walk far to have a good dinner, there were many restaurants nearby, on Spaccanapoli. The mattress of the bed was not so good, and not the pillow either. Sometimes by night I smelled a smoke of tobacco - like someone had a cigarette in the corridor! That was terrible. Also I could hear some noise from the corridors, but not from the streets, so it was quite peaceful and good hotel after all. The taxi from the Stazione Centrale (railway station) is 10 euros to the hotel, but if you are really brave, you can walk there too (about 30 minutes, but with luggage, I don't recommend it). It's quite long walk from the Piazza Municipio too, where the airport bus goes and the big streets in Naples are really dusty and uncomfortable to walk, so I recommend the taxi anyway.

Central location in terms of many of the famous Naples sights and experiences. Plenty of restaurants and cafe's close by. Staff were outstanding when I had an accident and had to leave prematurely. They were helpful, assisted in bridging the language gap in terms of hospitals, pharmacies and other medical needs. Giovanni went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us. Single rooms are small and with no view.

Very central location, and surprisingly quiet street. The room and the bathroom were clean and fresh every day. Very helpful staff. The shower noise from other apartments' bathrooms was pretty loud, can wake you up at night.

The hotel has a great location in the historical center of Napoli on walking distance from all major sights and most famous pizzerias (Sorbillo is 5 mn away), the staff is very very helpful and nice. The rooms are a bit noisy, sounds from inside the hotel and outside also.

The hotel staff was welcoming, accessible and provided lots of useful information. The room was comfortable and clean. Located in a central area. Highly recommended! It was not easy to find the location of the hotel, you might want to put a bigger sign on the street

There are many good things about the hotel. Location is excellent. I could explore most of the must-be-seen places on foot. Clean and pleasantly furnished rooms. Free internet. And the last, but not the least, friendly and willing-to-help personnel.

Located in the historic district. I did not feel safe in this hotel. The door to the building had a smashed front window for the duration of our stay. The stairways were dirty and cobered in graffitti.

Very secure and it is a lot better than first impressions. Location is good although it's an area where you see the real people of Napoli living. Good overall stay. First impressions should be ignored. Hard to find and you need transport from the train station.

The location is great, near the Piazza San Demonico and a small supermarket where you can get breakfast. Also nice and quiet outside. Free wifi in the room. And airconditioning was really nice with the heat. The hotel is actually a small corridor of rooms on the 4th floor of a building. The elevator was tiny. Only one person with suitcase fitted, so we had to make two trips up. The man at the reception smelled of sweat, the whole reception room smelled. The double room was really small. There was just enough room for the two suitcases on the floor. The door and walls are not isolated well, we woke up at every sound of people returning to their room in the evening and woke up by people leaving the hotel. When showering, the whole floor of the bathroom got soaked. The bed was not comfortable, it made a lot of noise when turning around.

Very comfortable room, fantastic value for money. In centro storico area, walking distance to good pizzerias and many attractions. Next to the university, quite a safe area, we were not afraid to walk home in the dark. The room was cleaned daily, the hotel was very secure. Would definitely stay again. Nothing bad about the hotel, Naples in general can be ugly and unsafe.
