It quiet location near to the Funicular railway to the Citta Alta and its car parking (although garage parking costs £18 per night). |

Location, close to the upper city (Citta Alta) was great - a short walk to the funicolare. Breakfast was nice. Decor seemed slightly dated but was fine. |

The Hotel was in an ideal location. The staff were very courteous and friendly. The restaurant (on a Sunday night) should be booked on arrival (despite what reception may say) or you may be disappointed - as many quests were on our recent visit. |

We were upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe room on check-in without having to mention it. |

Excellent location for both upper and lower parts of Bergamo. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast really good. The room was small and did not have any tea or coffee making facilities. You were able to hear through the walls especially when next door had a shower. |

Found the hotel relaxed and peaceful. Lovely to return to a warm, clean room at the end of the day. Breakfast excellent. Restaurant prices - a pity really, considering its superb setting. Perhaps the more reasonably priced buffet could be offered more than once weekly. |

Top location for tourists because all the best Bars, Restaurants & Boutique Shops are in the old town which is accessible from the funicular just around the corner from the Hotel................which runs until midnight. One of the best breakfast selections compared with typical Italian hotels. Missed opportunity to use the rooftop restaurant for breakfasts, but hotel guests do not have access. |

Hotel was lovely, great tourist location. The room was comfortable and quiet. The roof terrace restaurant was incredibly expensive, indeed a total rip off, there was no menu on display in the lobby or before you sat down. The prices were extremely high and the portions were ridiculasly small. |

The breakfast buffet was good. The Hotel is well located. Standard rooms were too small and overlooked an adjacent block of flats. Not conducive to anything more than sleeping. No armchair. Rooms were clean but unattractive. Staff were functional but not particularly friendly. The Restaurant is overpriced. In fairness, Bergamo in general is overpriced even accounting for the weakness of the GBP. Coffee and tea making facilities are always appreciated. |

Room upgrade, Lovely room, Air conditioning, Staff, Free UK Newsheet, Free desktop internet, great location. Shower only, small wardrobe, Little amount of drawer space, Bar never seemed to be open, Lack of info re Hotel facilities e.g. B'fast times / TV channels / free Wi Fi internet/ Bar opening times, Could not find any UK TV channels. All relatively minor issues. |

The Hotel was excellent in all respects, very clean, staff helpful, good range/quality of food at breakfast. The hotel was ideally located for viiting the old town in Bergamo, only 5 minute stroll. |

very central, very safe, very clean and a great breakfast!! The Bar in the reception area wasn't open which led to a Library type athmosphere and we thought it was expensive to stay (not a complaint, just an observation). |

Exellent location in town centre and very convenient to reach the old town. Good standard with comfortable and clean room. Not possible to have an evening drink in the roof restaurant. The only bar was in the lobby. |

Bergamo is a city on two levels. This appears to be the best located hotel for exploring both the upper and lower cities. A 5 minute walk from the funicular railway that takes you to the upper city and a 15 minute walk to the main train station for trains to Milan and other desitnations that take you through the heart of the lower city. The staff are friendly and attentive and the breakfast was varied and plentiful. Having stayed here before a few years ago, it is apparent that the hotel is starting to get a bit tired looking in some places although they do manage to maintain a standard that qualifies it as a four star hotel. My only disappointment was that the hotel bar was not open for either of the evenings we were there and whilst having a mini-bar in the room, it is not as socialble or stocked with the variety that a main bar would be. Furthermore the windows to the room would benefit from being double glazed for soundproofing reasons moreso than climatic ones. |

I liked the fact that we were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room which was roomy, had a balcony and beautiful views towards Citta Alta. The hotel was ideally situated near the funicular for visits to Citta Alta which we did every day. We just loved it. The San Marco is also handy for the bus stop and a bus ride or a ten minute walk to the train station. We did the forty minute train journey to Lake Como which was lovely. There is supermarket and restuarants nearby, but we ate in Citta Alta. We were looking forward to dinner in the rooftop restuarant but it was being used for functions. The bar was not open. |

Hotel Cappello d'Oro has a great location in the centre of Bergama's Città Bassa, close to the funicular, trams and the train station. Multilingual staff provide excellent service. |
Hotel Arli is in the heart of lower Bergamo, 4km from Orio al Serio Airport. Expect a friendly service, an excellent restaurant, a business centre and a luxury wellness centre. |
Located in the centre of the city, the hotel is within easy walking distance from the shopping area. There is also quick access to the old part of the city, Bergamo Alta. |
The Mercure Bergamo is set in a stately and elegant building in the centre of Bergamo, Palazzo Dolci, opposite to Papa Giovanni Congress Center and near Donizetti Theatre. |
