Hotel FasceLuigi Bozzo, 16038 Santa Margherita Ligure (Show map) Good, Score from 89 reviewsSmall, pretty, centrally situated, Hotel Fasce is located 5 minutes from the Ligurian seafront and is ideal to visit the exclusive Portofino and the splendid setting of the Cinque Terre. The hotel is highly recommended by the major Tourist Guide Books, (Michelin, Frommer's, Fodor's, Rick Steves, Cadogan Guide, Lonely Planet, Rough Guide) and it is therefore the aim of the management to maintain this excellent reputation by offering high standard of service and value for money. Relax in the comfortable rooms with private bathrooms and utilities, sip a drink in the garden or on the roof terrace garden and take advantage of the private parking (at an extra cost). All rooms also offer a complimentary hot drinks tray and the rate includes a rich continental buffet breakfast. Hotel Rooms: 18

It was cheap and parking is available 30 meters along the street. The hotel is located on the side of a slope, above the street which means that you need to carry suitcases up lots of stairs to get to the hotel. Continuing this theme, because our room was on the second floor and as there is no lift, we had to drag our suitcases up difficult, winding stairs. The beds were hard and uncomfortable.

The stay was very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was fine. Very good location (close to the see, supermarket around the corner). If we come to Santa Margerita Liguria, we will chose the same hotel. Only minus was noisy neighbourgs (maybe the wall are to thin).

Unfriendly staff. Location away from main beach strip. Breakfast was the poorest we have encountered. Bread/rolls not fresh and already on table(3 small rolls on table for 2. Had to ask for cereal the smallest packet I have seen provided grudgingly Really basic 2. Star budget hotel

We are very seasoned travelers. For the price of some of the hotels we do not have high expectations. The owner lives on the site, and he and his staff were most help. You do have to pay 20 euros a day for parking which was not mentioned on line.(that makes the cost of room rather pricy) Parking is secure and you can walk every where. The ferries are the best part of the transportation. We would stay here again because it is very quiet and walkable to all places in town. Great staff.!! We love Santa Margarita. Have been there before and stayed in Portofino. So much better to stay in this quiet town.

Would have been difficult to find had there not been signs along with other hotel signs along the streets from the rail station. Located in a small street off a main street. Proved to be quite well located. Very clean and neat. Well run. Steep narrow stairs to floors and no lift so heavy baggage would be a problem. Nice breakfast included. Initial difficulty in locating hotel, but once found all OK.

Situated in a relatively untouristic part of town Fasce offers comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price on the Italian Riviera with spacious rooms and good storage space. The staff are polite and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located a shortish walk from both the bus stop and boat terminals for Portofino and Cinque Terre and the train station for various destinations along the coast. We enjoyed the fact that the hotel is located where there are plenty of local people and non- tourist shops including a great pasticceria with coffee and pastries at normal prices (Renato Ferraris - 42 corso Matteotti. The hotel has excellent double glazing and traditional shutters but the early morning noise in the surrounding area means open windows in the summer result in disturbed sleep (there is no a/c but fan provided). The shower cubicle was very narrow and therefore uncomfortable for a tall or large person.

It was a comfortable, value for money double room. The hotel was very conveniently located to the main part of Santa Margherita. The hot breakfast was very good & the staff were very helpful. The bathroom was very small.

Charming hotel. The room was small but it had everything you needed plus an adorable balcony and a great roof top terrace. I liked it very much. Parking is difficult so be sure to reserve a space with the hotel.

Rick Steves recommends this hotel with some caution about the owner being strict. However, in our experience he was not strict, just unbelievably rude and arrogant. The hotel is expensive but does not have air conditioning and the bathroom is extremely small. The shower for example is roughly 30 inches square and sits immediately in front of the sink. It was so hot we had to keep the windows open, but the motorcycle traffic at night kept us awake. The room also had a severe problem with ants. Breakfast was very unforgettable. Only choose this hotel if you have no other options.

The location a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront suited us very well. It was a 5min walk through the beautiful village of St. Margherita which was a pleasure. The staff was very friendly and helpful and everything was clean and neat and well organised. We loved the fact that there was a roof terrace from where you have a stunning view. The family room was the size of a double room, with the bunk bed for the children being a cupboard bed! This worked all right for us as our children are young still and we saw the cupboard bed as an experience which we would never get here in South Africa. Nonetheless, space was a bit of an issue, we are not large people and did manage to take it with humour - the rooftop terrace came in very handy - but if you are taller than 180 and a bit overweight you will not fit into the bathroom.

The hotel staff were courteous. The manager spoke very good english so it was easy to ask questions etc For the price it represented good value. The hotel is located about 1 km from the seaside but it was a very easy pleasant walk which we didnt mind as we were keen to do as much walking as possible. The money saved on accommodation was then used for eating out and enjoying the great restaurants in the area. The distance from the beach might not be suitable for those travellers with walking difficuties The room was adequate but did not have anywhere to sit to watch tv..a very small lounge would have been nice It was difficult to sit up in bed and read as behind the bedhead there was a pretruding piece of timber Only small issues that didnt spoil our overall impression

Hotel is situated in a quiet street in lovely town of Santa Magherita. Hotel stuff was really nice (kind porter even taken my girlfriends suitecase up to our room on 2nd floor). Room has got everything you need for few days of holidays. There is a terrace with lovely views of S. Margherita. Breakfast was nice too. The room furniture needs a slight upgrade. We didnt mind it, just saying. And a bathroom is a bit of squeeze.

The staff was very nice and helpful. It is located about 10-15 min walk to the boat/bus which was practical for us. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops + beach. Breakfast great and Perfect location. The bathroom is too small to be practical, difficult with children. The room was small but comfortable except for the many springtime visitors : Ants. The reception gave me a spray to put in the room.. Also very difficult to park so we used the hotel parking, very convienient but 20 euros per day !
