Excellent location, lovely roof terrace. Small and not very clean shower, problems with hot water, the room window faced a wall, so there was absolutely no daylight in the room.

Fantastic athmosphere, outstanding rooftop, in the midle of everything worth seeing in Rome, at the same time bussy and tranquil, all in all we would like to give hotel Genio our most heartfelt recomandations! A bit pity that it was not possible to sit at the beautiful rooftop in the late evening, as the city closes early..

The hotel was situated nearby the piazza navonna and the vaticaan. We slept awfull, complete overheated, this because the central heating couldn't be personal controlled and opening the windos was no option because the hotel was situated at a main road and therefore outside terrible noisy.

When I finally was given the correct room, it was a decent size. and it was kept very clean. There was a useful blanket and I did need it in April. There was sufficient space to spread out my belongings. It is possible to look across the rooftops from the restaurant and terrace and to see St Peter's. I had booked more than three months in advance but arrived to be told you cannot stay here tonight and you have to go across town (we will pay for the taxi!) to our hotel in Piazza Venezia. The explanation given was we have problems with water. I have no way of knowing whether this was true or whether the hotel still follows a policy of overbooking. Receptionist Gian Luca was pleasant and polite and tried to be helpful. Then a young lady happened to appear, collect her key and head off to her room. so I said 'Oh you are open! How is it she has a room here and you have nothing for me?! He responded to this plea by offering me a room on the fifth floor for my first night and warning me that it was very small. I looked at it and accepted the offer. Later a different receptionist gave me no help in using the buses outside the hotel. He told me to ask people in the bus queue! There was no hot shower if you got up too early. The room was noisy in the evening with the clattering of dishes from the kitchen. It had no view whatever.

Met all expectations. A warm, safe and comfortable haven for frequent forrays into the centro storico. We would recommend it to our friends and will stay there again when next in Roma.

Hotel Genio was very conveniently located to many important tourist spots, good restaurants, and stylish shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, served on the top floor with a magnificent view of the city, was tasty and ample. The rooftop terrace outside the breakfast room too gave a great view of the surroundings and had lots of tables and chairs for sitting in the warmer weather. A generous supply of colorful flowers adorned the terrace. The rooms were kept very clean each day. A room on the front of the hotel could be noisy with traffic and late- night revelers. Friends who stayed towards the back said it was very quiet there.

The location is excellent, very close to Piazza Navona and hence the Pantheon. Cost is reasonable when compared to other nearby hotels, but Rome is expensive. Good choice for breakfast, available over a long period. Room was a very good size. Good views available at breakfast (top floor). On a busy street - but this is Rome, and that is true for nearly all hotels. Only one small lift. Breakfast served on the top floor - not a problem apart from the lift.

Arriving very early in roma from the airport (around 7am) we were very grateful that hotel staff let us check in early (as check in time was around 12 or 2pm).. So we could freshen up and explore rome. Breakfast is complimentary and nice.. We had our breakfast on the rooftop every morning. The hotel is convenient for all sites to walk to... Next to the river, if you follow it... You can't get lost finding the hotel in rome. And the hotel is near piazza nuovo. The showers... Not sure why.. But it gets cold later in the day. So if you want a good shower... Have it first thing in the morning before breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely. I liked the selection of food each morning for breakfast and the view from the roof terrace is amazing. Although my room was small, it was adequate for myself as I was travelling alone and everything was clean. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring as most of the main sites are very close by. I really enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay again. The hairdryer was temperamental. It only worked some of the time but it did not affect my stay at all! The door to my room was difficult to close sometimes and I think it needs replacing or re-fitting. However, none of these things affected my stay and my trip to Rome was wonderful.

The locatioan was perfect. Close to "everything". The breakfast was good enough and there was a possibility to eat on the terrace with a nice view over the city. There was I big aircondition "generator" inside the building hade a terribble noice al night. It had a low frenquens sound. Very anoing. But, if you get a room towards the strees it was ok. I changed room.Small and slow elevator

Excellent location with great roof top views of Rome Our room was old tired and shabby, the bathroom very small, one lift in the hotel which was too small and very slow, the location and the roof top view make it good value. Not really a 4 star hotel more like a 3 !

The room had large double doors which opened onto a balcony (fifth floor room) and it was just around the corner from Piazza Navone, just beside the River and a blocks walk from the Vatican! Perfectly central to all the sights. The breakfast was lovely, and eating on the roof looking out over Rome was an amazing start to the day. Whenever we needed a taxi or tickets the people behind the desk sorted it out no problems. It made Rome a wonderful experience, we'll stay there again.

I don't understand how such hotel could keep four stars level. The room was small, noisy, no adequeate facility, narrow and old corridor and terribly unkind reception staffs. At this time, I stayed five other four star hotels for two weeks in several Italian cities and this Genio hotel was worst! They are cheating clients.

The staff were very helpful, we stayed at the hotel in the middle of the first snow "storm" in over 20 years in Rome and they really tried to help us out with practical issues, and also - without us even asking for it - didn't charge us for one of the rooms when one person in the group got stuck at the airport and couldn't get there on the first night.

It's location was amazing, exactly a two minute walk from Piazza Navona, 15 minutes from Vatican City, 20 minutes from Via Condotti and the shopping area, and there is a bus stop right beneath the hotel that serves several buses and takes you to all main places and attractions... Also, the breakfast was pretty good.. it was a typical Italian breakfast, but with all the hotels we visited over our 10 day stay in Italy (we have been to several cities, florence, Turin, Milan) this had the largest variety and very good and tasty food for breakfast! The rooms were kind of old, and you had to wait a while for the hot water to begin. We had a problem at the beginning of our stay where there was no hot water in the room, and we were travelling in January... The service was pretty good as they sent us someone to fix it right away, and when it turned out to be a problem, they instantly changed our rooms, so this was actually a positive point... But while our old room was spacious and the bathroom itself was warm (there was a heater), the new room's bathroom was freezing as there was no heater inside.. So apparently not all rooms are the same..

location is great since it is in the hearth of the city. All places of cultural importance are within easy reach. No bar or caffee in the hotel. The breakfast room at the top of the hotel is small and very crowded in the morning with not many food variations for breakfast . Noise from the street is enormeous. Furniture in rooms is outdated.
