Staff was extremely polite, friendly and accommodating. Loved the video DVD library including guides on the city of Florence. Staff also made excellent restaurant recommendations. Wonderful breakfast and choice of beverages served in the morning--best breakfast during our three week travel through Europe.

The service of all staff was exceptional. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We felt very comfortable there as a result we extended our stay for an additional 3 nights. Definitely good value. Our stay included breakfast each morning which was very good. The Hotel is well situated within walking distance to the Duomo and other main sites. The room is well equipped and designed (we really liked the high ceilings) We were very happy with our stay and highly recommend to others. Should we return to Florence, we will certainly return to Hotel Giglio. They really go the extra mile for you!

Air-conditioner and hair-dryer is ready in a room. Hotel staffs are always ready for 24 hours at the reception desk, and they are very friendly and kind. Breakfast is good. A self-service laundry is near to the hotel. Hotel is a little far from the railway station; around 15 minutes walk. No electric kellte nor refrigerator are available in a room. Towels provided in the hotel have too much starch; they smell a little strange.

The most outstanding thing about Hotel Giglio is the staff. They were extremely friendly, helpful, courteous and obliging. The rooms were big, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom enormous! The breakfast was nice, and the fresh espresso coffee a treat. We walked to the hotel from the train station within half an hour, and the hotel is about 15 minutes from the Duomo on foot. The wifi was a little annoying - although it was free, we had to keep re-entering the password in our web browser.

Hi, the best value of hotel is the really ancient flavour saved in room's construction and design but with modern comfort, also - pro- active hospitality of owners and the key personnel there. In general - the hotel management is on good high level. Keep that. Wi-Fi is free but not of modern type. It should be more guest friendly (do not need to enter password and login every time when you deside to use internet by your personal smartphone or notebook). It is not security matter but only inconvenience for guests.

The staff at Hotel Giglio are amazing and very helpful. We needed to go to the train station and they took us there, which saved us money on a taxi. The breakfast was great with a nice selection of pastries, meats and fruit. They also offer cappuccinos or expressos, which was a great way to start the day. The rooms are nice and clean. They have a selection of DVDs, which you can watch in your room. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to Academia Gallery,15 minute walk to Duomo Cathedral and 20 minute walk to Uffizi museum. The hotel is somewhat on a main street since it is basically a straight way to these places. There are some restaurants nearby. I would stay here again. I did not like the fact that I could not use WiFi in my room. One of the reasons I book was because of the free WiFi. You are able to use it in the lobby.

The hotel room was spotless, housekeeping staff paid a lot of attention to details. Front desk staffs were informative , owner Roberto gave us excellent travel tips and where to go for day excursions. Location of the hotel is as good as it gets since we did not want to be at busy areas, this hotel is only a 15 minute walk to Duomo and yet it's in a nice and quiet area. Continental breakfast buffet was great plus expresso and cappuccino were made to order!

Staff were wonderful. Breakfast also very good. A little too far to walk to the train station and yet it did not have the business/noise of being nearer. Beds very comfortble. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Provided transportation to the train station on the morning of our departure, which was a pleasant surprise. Two computers in the lobby. Lobby also has books etc. Wish we had a tub instead of shower, but maybe other rooms do. It was a bit noisy but I think it is standard for older hotels/buildings. No restuarnts right next door, but it was a short walk which I didn't mind. To be closer to the main sites and restaurants would probably be a pricier hotel.

This was my first trip to Florence and the trip was made all the more enjoyable with my stay in hotel giglio. This is a fantastic hotel with great staff who attend to your every need. Thanks to Marco and Luca who answered all questions with efficiency and a friendly smile. The double room was very spacious and the breakfast was delicious with a great choice of cereals, fruit and pastries. With just a 10 min walk to the duomo the location was perfect. I would highly recommend a stay in hotel giglio.

The staff is among the most gracious and helpful of any hotel I have ever visited. This hotel is ideal for the budget-minded traveller. It is a 10-minute walk from the main center of town, and the staff is extremely helpful in helping to orient you to the city. They will also make any arrangements or reservations possible to help you find what you want. The hotel is on the second floor of a non-descript building, so you need to look past the somewhat dank entrance way. It is well worth staying here, and I will absolutely stay here again.

Good location, 10 min walk to the Duomo/Campanile. Excellent breakfast, very nice and helpfulg staff! Public Parking possible 5 mins away, but expensive on weekdays. Maybe it's better to choose the garage for 15 Euro per day.

Small and intimate. Great location close to the train station, easy walk to major attractions (Museum Academia, Duomo, Uffizi). Staff very helpful (my luggage went missing on my way to Italy - staff assisted in reuiniting me with my bag). Rooms nicely furnished and clean. Breakfast service very good. Although stay very enjoyable - entry to hotel a bit off putting on first impression (i.e. enterance dark, very tiny elevator)

The staff of the hotel was really nice and helped us fined places we wanted. The room had a mini fridge (which is great) and the bathrooms were fearly big and clean. The room is decoraited really nice. The hotel had a buffet which was consistant with all the other hotels we took in Italy- mafines, eggs, cheese and pastrame, hot & cold drinks ect. The hotel is 10 minutes from the center and really close to some of the sites- so you can enjoy a nice walk around town. They have free internet which is super and even 2 laptops to use in the reseption. 1- out side our window there was building shield (when you build aroud the hotel for the constraction workers to work) so we had to close our window and curtains good when we left or dressed. We did'nt realy see any builders but just in case.. 2- the room was a bit dusty (I guess because of the constraction work!?).dispite this- and because I don't know how other hotels are in florence- this is a place worth considering coming back to.

Owners are great. Clean, somfortabel, and good breakfast. Quiet rooms. A little oiut of the way. A little out of the way. A long walk from the train station; however, we received a courtesy ride back to the train station with our luggage. Otherwise a nice play to stay when in Florence.

Marcus and his wife are wonderful. They make you feel at home. Marcus helped us with our travel plans. They let us use their computer, umbrellas and travel books. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We stayed in July and the room had some mosquitos. The room had an unusual air conditioner. It has a glass jar at the end of a tube that condensation drips into this jar. I could hear the drips from the water at night. I never saw this type of air condition before. It did keep the room cool. In the summer you need an air conditioned room too.
