Hotel staff - very helpful Value for money, too expensive for what it offers, apart from location there is nothing else I could recommend it for

It's location is close to everything and price is cheap. Well, you get what you paid for. You can feel the coils of the mattress, the room is very small. The floor will be flooded every time you shower. The shower stall is tiny, one can barely move. Breakfast is very simple and same every day.

The location and the price were the main attractions. The room, although very simple, was fairly spacious. Staff was very courteous and welcoming! Wi-fi didn't work in our room, so we had to come out to the reception area to use our devices. The room was dusty, and the washroom appliances a tad outdated. But still good value for what it was.

This was a last minute booking and we needed 3 rooms. We were very happy with everything, particularly the location and you could walk to all of the major sights in Florence. It was also very quiet and in a very safe area. The front desk was particularly helpful and friendly.

A very friendly and helpful staff who recommended excellent neighborhood restaurants for dinners. Also, a perfect location, five minutes from the Academy in one direction, the Uffizi in the other.

Excellent location, very easy to find and quick access to train station. The city was extremely busy in September, but it was easy to reach less touristy areas of the city from Hotel Gioia as well as the main attractions E.G. 5 mins to Duomo and 10 mins walk to River Arno. It was very hot in Florence in mid-September (about 32 degrees c) but the air- conditioning worked very well and it was comfortable to sleep in the room. Room was also very quiet even though it was close to the reception area and also had an excellent, free Wi-Fi signal. Choices at breakfast were limited.

Hotel is within walking distance to the Duomo. However, it is very far getting from the main bus and train station to this location. The best option afterhours is a taxi which will cost about 15 euros one way. The balcony is not as nice as the picture shows; it is not well maintained. Watch out for the friendly older Italian man; he lkes to touch, caress, and hug females and kiss their hands. Do be left alone with him!

The room was huge for an Italian hotel! Breakfast was good (pastries and freshly made coffee by barista) too! Also, the manager spoke good English and provided great advice on where to get advanced tickets for the Academy. We stayed here for several nights. On the final night, we saw a young man smoking in the doorway that led to the hotel. This is normally common for restaurants and stores, but never for hotels. We were surprised to see him because this was the first time. We later found out he was a hotel employee and were disappointed that he was lingering outside the hotel like that...unprofessional. I later had a run in with the man later when my Wifi password did not work. He refused to give me a new wifi password saying I used my 24 hours of time. This was frustrating because 1) I did not use all my time and 2) I was staying many nights so it doesn't make sense that I should be allowed the same 24 hours that someone staying one night gets.

Very helpful and nice staff, refreshed room (carpets and walls), nice bathroom, very good location, parking option, price-quality ratio is very good! The street the hotel is located at is noisy when windows are open, but when closed all is fine, for conditioning system works well.

The reception staff were very friendly. Good shower and good bed. Very basic and functional. The hotel could do with a lick of paint, it's looking a bit tired.

Friendly staff at the reception, perfect location, nice rooms (nothing special but everything you need is there); good price for a 3* hotel in the centre of Florence (for a small economy room). Older bathroom equipment and furniture

The staff were delightful and very helpful. The room was clean and quite spacious. The room was noisy at night (traffic and people passing outside) even with the windows tightly closed. The breakfast was adequate.

“Friendly, helpful staff current in English. We loved the breakfast (included in the price) featuring local cold cuts and cheese, homemade pastry and bread, different types of cereal, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and of course capuccino. The room, minimalistic in design, offered a high quality (king!) mattress and a rather small bathroom with a tiny shower (did not impact too much on the very good stay we had there). Very clean! The hotel is located 10 minuteswalking distance from the Duomo and Plazza de la Signoria, 5 minutes from Santa Maria de la Novela and 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio. We highly recommend it for a short city trip. ” Mirela, East Greenwich |
