The location was great. Rome is a very very expensive city so just be aware. You can spend a great deal more and get that American experience but as little time as you spend in the room if you are out and about then the extra several hundred dollars a night is not a good buy. Best to go somewhere and get your security, breakfast, and location. Via Venneto! La Dolce Vita!

I liked the coziness of the hotel and the privacy that the staff allowed. It fit my needs and I would definitely stay there again. It was close to many shops and restaurants and local transportation. No complaints, except I did not know how to use the tv, but I didn't need it anyway.

We enjoyed staying at this quaint hotel. The family who run this are really nice and make you feel very welcome and secure. The breakfast was great. Good location. The room is a little bit small but everything else makes up for that. The bathroom was a good size and very clean.

Central location, affordable and the staff/owners were great. The only thing I woiuld recommend changing is having blackout curtains on the room. The single rooms were quite small but typical for Europe.

The owners and staff at the Hotel Golden are wonderful. They definitely want all guests to enjoy their stay. They have great suggestions and recommendations for the city. The location is perfect, close to sites and the metro. The rooms while small (at least the single) is very comfortable and clean. Free wifi in the rooms is great to have. My only recommendation is that they have blackout curtains. The do have shutters but it would be great to make it a bit darker.

Excellent staff and decent location for site seeing in Roma. The hotel is quite small including the rooms and lobby, etc.You have to walk upstairs, one flight and in the evening necessary to ring bell to get into the Hotel. This is obviously a budget minded hotel and we avoided the 200+ euro/nite rates that dominant the area. Overall satisfied just would not do Rome again in Mid Aug, the heat was oppressive and the crowds in Vatican worse. Had to ring bell at street level at nite to get in.

Family owned and operated. The staff was extremely warm and helpful, went above and beyond to help us have fun during our one day in Rome, recommend reasonable, family-owned restaurants, and get us to the airport early in the morning. Breakfast was delicious. The room was quaint, spacious, and comfortable--an amazing value, especially considering how expensive Rome is!

The location, and that's about it. The rooms, the hotel itself, the staff especially, the breakfast. As I said, the only thing I liked was the location. Wouldn't stay here if my life depended on it.

This small, family run hotel was an excellent choice for our experience in the large bustling city of Rome. The family was knowledgable and always helpful in guiding us with respect to directions, recommendations, and general information. We traveled as a mother/daughter team, and were extremely comfortable. Their location is also far enough away from the main streets that we slept very soundly. We heard from other tourists staying in other hotels that sleep was a problem because of noisy streets, but not for us. We were very happy.

This is a family operated hotel and they were very accommodating, attempted to solve any issue we had and Guiseppe recommended a couple of restaurants close by which were great. We particularly liked Il Pomodore! We also liked the location as we were able to access the Termini area (hop on and off bus), Spanish Steps and even St Peters by foot. "Grazie" to all the family.

The staff was wonderful. It's a family-owned hotel and they obviously take pride in welcoming people to their "home". Giuseppe greeted us warmly and took care of our bags. We only had one day in Rome so he went out of his way to map out a one day walking tour so we caught all of the highlights. The room was super clean and the bed was average in terms of comfort. Generally a good, safe and quiet place to stay for a night. This isn't a complaint, and I'm not even being critical. This is a very traditional European hotel with regard to size and amenities. The rooms are pretty tight and the bathroom really only fits one person. Also, the floors in the room are tile and a little uncomfortable on your bare feet when you wake up in the morning. Also, the hotel is on the second floor and you have to ring the front desk when you are outside to gain entry. They were always quick to answer and buzz us in, but it's slightly inconvenient.

Excellent, helpful and friendly staff who are all very accomodating and have excellent advice for the Rome tourist. Rooms were clean and modern with TV and free wifi access and are air-conditioned. Breakfast was very nice and included a bit more than just rolls and pastries. Nothing bad to say. Our air-conditioning wasn't working well on the last day of our stay but the staff did their best to fix the problem as soon as we had mentioned it.

The friendly family-atmosphere. The staff answered all our questions and gave several suggestions about where to eat, what to visit and how to get around. And always with a smile. We felt really welcomed! Location is also great, close to wonderful Villa Borghese and also close to the city / Spanish steps. Nice quiet surroundings. The breakfast was a bit too "sugary" but that is not unusal staying in hotels in Italy. Nice and fresh anyhow.
