All staff. Within easy walking distance (10-30 mins) of all main attractions. Within walking distance (5 mins) of many bars, cafés and restaurants. Breakfast. Fairly quiet area away from most traffic noise. Mini bar/fridge. Family run business. Very helpful tourist advice given upon arrival. Made to feel welcome and relaxed. Arranged a very good taxi to airport for our departure (50 euros). Any issues dealt with in a very friendly and professional way. Genuine friendliness with a smile..
A very busy small hotel so some minor noise. Some vehicle delivery noise from street in the mornings from approx 6.30-7.30.
This family run hotel is fantastic. What a find! We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was great for our family. The breakfast was really nice and everyone was pleasant and helpful! Special thanks to Marco. Highly recommend.
We loved the large room and the friendly helpful atmosphere within the hotel.
The Hotel Golden is a lovely place to stay. The owners are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. The location is quiet but close to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. The Colosseum and Vatican city are a little further but the bus service is excellent and cheap. Giuseppe and Maria Teresa both gave us lots of information regarding travelling which helped immensely. The rooms are beautifully maintained and comfortable. The mini bar is very reasonable in pricing too. The family suite is huge and has two separate bedrooms and a hall! The breakfast was excellent and their cappuccinos are lovely. We left very early on the morning, before breakfast, but Giuseppe was there to make us a cappuccino before we got our taxi. I could not rate this hotel too highly as it is the friendliest hotel I have been to in a long time. We will definitely book here the next time we go to Rome. Thank you Marco, Maria Teresa, Giuseppe & Alina.
Very personal and friendly environment. Breakfasts were just incredible! Again the staff/family were so helpful to us from USA.
Overall space is a limitation.
This was our last night in Rome, but I wish we could've stayed longer! First and foremost, the service was by far the best we saw in Rome! Marco was so nice, and very helpful. He took the time to highlight a map for us and to recommend local restaurants. Also, he helped carry our bags...really went above and beyond. Also, the room was spotless, with a huge bathroom and great rain shower. It also had the best air conditioning was saw at any hotel in Italy. I can't say enough good things about Hotel Golden...the people, the facilities, the location...everything you want for a phenomenal price.
Hotel is owned and fully staffed by a wonderful family. Very warm, helpful and friendly. You feel like you're staying with. Friends. From home cooked breakfast to the very helpful front desk to the excellent a/c and cleanliness all is very nice experience.
Staff were fantastic. Guiseppe and Marco could not do enough to help, especially as we had luggage problems with the airport. Luxurious and comfortable room - complete chill-out. Brilliant!
great location and we loved the family suite and also the family that runs the hotel - they were especially helpful with suggestions for food, tours, etc...
wifi was weak in our 2nd floor suite - not that big a deal because we didn't need it that much - but just FYI they may want to make stronger signal or something
The breakfast, cooked by Mamma Maria, is superb ! The service is exceptional !
Nothing to not like !
family owned hotel. great staff. excellent home made breakfast.
This is the MOST friendly hotel I have ever stayed in. You felt like part of the family. Staff did every thing they could to help you plan and enjoy Rome and side trips too. They helped with car reservations, luggage, restaurant and tour recommendations. JUST WONDERFUL PEOPLE. I will NEVER stay anywhere else in Rome again! And I go back to Rome every few years.
WiFi was sporadic - not their fault.
Friendly people without being intrusive. Gave great tips on what to see and how to get there and the location of the BEST gelato in Italy. They even invited out daughters in to have breakfast with us even though they were staying elsewhere
central location for all the main places of interest and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (hotel owners)
Marco, his brother, and his family were a great help in getting us around in Rome while on a two day respite coming off a cruise. Comfortable room, great breakfast. Marco's Mom made the best banana cake for breakfast we ever had. Good location close to several nice restaurants and bus stops. Thanks Marco and family.
Bathroom a little small, but I'm a big guy.
Outstanding friendly personal service. Very high standards of cleanliness. Extensive high quality breakfast. Brilliant location for our city trip.
I have NEVER met more hospitable hosts. They were warm, sincere, friendly and helpful. The rooms were well priced and the breakfast was lovely. Hotel staff gave great advice on restaurants, car rentals and sights.
Internet was erratic - not really their fault!
We were six women making our way through Italy. Our last stop was Hotel Golden. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt warm and invited. I love the personal treatment you receive from a committed family run business. We stayed in the family suite which was amazing. Our friends stayed in the main hotel and were happy with their room. Breakfast was wonderful, with many handmade goodies. I highly recommend this property!
Everything perfect, great location, fantastic owners (actually, all family working at the hotel), would definitely stay again.
My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights with the Loria family at the Hotel Golden this May. We were in Italy for 10 days and this was our favorite place to stay. It was truly a beautiful room in a quiet part of Rome. It was a great walking distance to so many sites and we saw a lot!! When we arrived Marco gave us a map and highlighted the routes to take to many places. It was so helpful even though we got lost quite a bit!! It was just our map reading skills :) He also gave us a recommendation to a restaurant just down the street called Il Pomodorino. It was so good we went there twice. But I just want to say the whole family, Papa Mario, Mamma Teresa, Marco, Maria and Giuseppe, are very kind, very helpful, wonderful people. We were able to meet all of them and talk to them daily. They always had a smile and a buongiorno every morning as we passed them to go to the most delicious breakfast. The freshest fruit, pastries, really good eggs and the best coffee I have ever had! This home away from home is the best. I went with my daughter and we loved it so much I can't wait to take my husband there. I wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Rome. Grazie to the Loria Family!! Arrivederci for now!!
Helpful staff! Good location, good recommendations for restaurants. Very near the Borghese Gallery.
The benefit of going to a family-owned and operated hotel is the personal touch. Giuseppe and Marco welcomed us as friends not guests. Spent time giving us directions and were so helpful. The young lady at breakfast was so sweet and the breakfast would please the pickiest eater. I would definitely go back to Hotel Golden if we were in Rome.
Loved the location, it was nice to be a little bit away from the busy tourist areas, plus it's practically across the street from Villa Borghese, a great park. Our room was larger than we expected and was very clean. The staff (well, the family really), particularly Giuseppe, was very accommodating and helpful, particularly on where and when to go to tourist sites as well as affordable, excellent restaurants. Breakfast at the property was also excellent. You really can't beat this place for the price, location, accommodations and staff.
The staff is very friendly and helpful with hints on how to get to places. They highlight maps to help you with your tourist walks. Their breakfast is excellent.
Everything, from the personalised welcome with great sightseeing plans, the lovely service and delicious breakfast. It was as if we were staying with family but without any relatives to put up with!!
