Area information

Helvetia Spa & Beauty is in the heart of Porretta Terme, a characteristic Italian town on the Reno River where it meets with the Rio Maggiore, surrounded by the green foothills of the Tuscany-Emilia Apennine mountain range. In the village of Capugnano, there is also the church of San Michele, which dates back to the 13th century. Castelluccio is one of the most famous and most evocative place in the Porretta area.
Six kilometers away, there is also the 17th century Madonna Del Faggio Sanctuary, immersed in woodlands and surrounded by an airy colonnade.
And finally, you can visit the nearby cities of Bologna, Pistoia, Lucca, and Florence.
The Apennines is a territory to be discovered.
There are a number of peaceful trails which start in the center of the town and are ideal for a relaxing walk, as well as others which lead you on full-day tours of the two natural parks of Corno alle Scale and the Suviana and Brasimone Lakes area.

Travel information

By car. From the north: take the A1 Bologna-Florence motorway and get off at the Sasso Marconi exit (no. 14). Follow the SS 64 Porrettana highway south for roughly 45 km.
From the south: take the A11 (Firenze Mare) motorway and get off at the Pistoia exit.
Follow the SS 64 Porrettana highway north for roughly 35 km.

By plane. The “Guglielmo Marconi” airport in Bologna is 60 km from Porretta; the “Peretola” airport in Florence, 70km.

By train. Take either the Bologna-Porretta Terme or Pistoia Porretta Terme lines.
