It is within walking distance of train-station, bus stops, shopping area, museums/sights and good trattorie. All the reception staff are extremely helpful and speak very good English. The rooms are impeccably clean and have all the comfort one would expect from a hotel in a higher class: excellent a/c & comfortable beds. The breakfast is very good and as varied as one could want it. We booked two rooms (4 adults) for 10 nights and we could not have expected anything better than this. We toured the surrounding towns by day and looked forward to coming back to our welcoming hotel in the evening. For a 3 star hotel, the Hotel Holiday is great value for money. We've been to 4 star hotels which weren't as good as this one. Definitely recommendable. (For dinner, try the Trattoria Mariposa on the same street - good, simple and inexpensive food by a friendly young couple).

This hotel which is situated in an ideal location in the centre of Bologna.offers great value for money. The room we had was a generous size and had the most comfortable bed I have ever had in any hotel room. The ensuite bathroom was also a good size and though not the most up to date was absolutely fine.amd was well cleaned each day by the chamber maid as was the rest of the room. Breakfast was a buffet and offered a good variety of items to select each day and I would defy anyone to say it was not more than adequate in all respects. The staff were all, without exception, very charming and were at all times helpful and friendly.and I would definitely stay in this hotel again without hesitation if I were to visit Bologna again albeit that on balance it would be true to say that decor wise it could perhaps do with a liitle upgrading. However, if you want four star facilities then you would be expecting to fork out four star money for the privelege. But this hotel ticked all the boxes for us so don't hesitate to book in there if your are looking for a well located hotel at a reasonable price with good facilities and lovely staff.

The hotel is very good for a few days' trip, The room is not very spacious but clean and cosy. Location is convenient. Staff is helpful and friendly. So it is good for ***. Oh, excellent coffee for breakfast!!! If I could note. The loation is very good, in the historic center. But why to advertise the adress "Piazza Magiore" if the hotel is half way from Piazza Magiore to railway station. We were confused and walked to Magiore and then half way back.

location was perfect. very central in the city. although the hotel was old, it had everything you need in the room: minibar, safe, bathroom, tv and electricity sockets (sometimes they are rare) :-) breakfast was poor, to say the least. wifi at a cost.

Location and staff We have encountered a hot weather, and the air-conditioning was not working! The reception provided us with a fan, but was not sufficient to cool the room.

very close to town, could walk everywhere. the alley street it was on, was very safe, but at night, there was drug use, you only had to walk a couple feet to the main street, and no problem, the staff could not have been more helpful, with maps, and information. we would stay again, ps, make sure you take the red, hop on and off bus. everything was fine

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff ( both at the desk and at breakfast) , good shower. Comfortable (elevator!) And most of all, the wonderful location, between central trainstation and the main square. You can reach everything walking. Clean towels every day. Very reasonably priced. Tea/coffeemaker in the room. We had a room at streetside, which can get noisy at night. Nothing that earplugs will not fix though. For the rest, I have only positive remarks.

The phonic isolation of the rooms is very poor, so you could hear the noise made by other (late/early) guests. No problem if you have a sound sleep

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location is hard to find, especially at night down a rather dark alley with poor lighting. The room lighting, however, was very good, unusual in European hotels. Breakfast satisfactory, loved making our own coffees, as many as we wanted without waiting. Now that we know the location, would stay here again.

It was very close to the centre and the most important monuments in bologna Our first breakfast was thoroughly enjoyable as there was everything once expects at breakfast but the following day there was no fruit at all and when I enquired why, I was told that the previous day there was fair going on in bologna which had finished and they only put out fruit with the breakfast when they have people staying at the hotel who are attending for fairs - a bit disappointing......

Staff where friendly If I had paid a fair price for this hotel I would be happy, but I paid a really inflated price and it was not worth the money. The room was tired, the hot water took an age to come through the shower, I could hear the next door guest and her conversations. This hotel was a rip off - they are exploiting guests that come to visit Cosmoprof when Bologna is really busy.

The hotel is extremely well situated half way between the city centre and the train station, both just a ten minute walk from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great little trattoria 50m away called Mariposa, the decor is interesting too and the food is good home cooking. There is a daily (apart from Sunday) rubbish / skip collection at about 6am at the back of the hotel. We were woken up every morning by the extremely noisy truck. Not pleasant at all, especially when on holiday.

Everything to our expectations. Close proximity to Via Indipendenza and Piazza Maggiore, about 15mins walk to train station. (Hotels closer to train station are more expensive).Comfortable rooms. Excellent abundant breakfast. Good value for money. No negative comments to pass on Hotel Holiday. Would definetely choose Hotel Holiday next visit to Bologna.

Holiday Hotel's location is the best thing about this place. Moreover it is very worth it for the price. The rooms are ok for that price eventhough one of the rooms we had the door opened exactly onto the toilet and you had to be very careful. The breakfast was rather good. My only complaint would be that the cleaner cleans to much!!!! :) She/He threw away an empty can of Duff beer we wanted to keep as we do not have such beer in Malta. I liked the location, the value for money and the cleanliness.

The location is really great - just 15 minutes walking from railway station and in city center. Breakfast was ok, nothing special - but just the same as in other italian hotels. I was surprised by the staff upon arrival to the hotel. The man at reception gave me the key of the room, then took our passports to check us in, put them on the table and started leisurely to make coffee for himself. I did not intend to leave our passports at the reception so I asked whether I can take them. The man answered me irritadedly "First I need to do my job" and continued preparing coffee. I wonder if checking us in was not his job? :) Then he leisurely sat down at his computer, spoke with someone on the phone, drinking coffee... Checking us in took 25 minutes for him, while in other hotels it takes 5 minutes. All this time I was standing at the reception with my luggage.. The dining room is too small. The tables are so close to each other that while having breakfast you touch elbows of your neigbour by yours elbows. Moreover, sometimes it appears that person comes for breakfast and there is no free table for him.
