This hotel which is situated in an ideal location in the centre of Bologna.offers great value for money. The room we had was a generous size and had the most comfortable bed I have ever had in any hotel room. The ensuite bathroom was also a good size and though not the most up to date was absolutely fine.amd was well cleaned each day by the chamber maid as was the rest of the room. Breakfast was a buffet and offered a good variety of items to select each day and I would defy anyone to say it was not more than adequate in all respects. The staff were all, without exception, very charming and were at all times helpful and friendly.and I would definitely stay in this hotel again without hesitation if I were to visit Bologna again albeit that on balance it would be true to say that decor wise it could perhaps do with a liitle upgrading. However, if you want four star facilities then you would be expecting to fork out four star money for the privelege. But this hotel ticked all the boxes for us so don't hesitate to book in there if your are looking for a well located hotel at a reasonable price with good facilities and lovely staff.

It is within walking distance of train-station, bus stops, shopping area, museums/sights and good trattorie. All the reception staff are extremely helpful and speak very good English. The rooms are impeccably clean and have all the comfort one would expect from a hotel in a higher class: excellent a/c & comfortable beds. The breakfast is very good and as varied as one could want it. We booked two rooms (4 adults) for 10 nights and we could not have expected anything better than this. We toured the surrounding towns by day and looked forward to coming back to our welcoming hotel in the evening. For a 3 star hotel, the Hotel Holiday is great value for money. We've been to 4 star hotels which weren't as good as this one. Definitely recommendable. (For dinner, try the Trattoria Mariposa on the same street - good, simple and inexpensive food by a friendly young couple).

The location is close to Independance Street and some retail outlets, though the hotel is in a small alley about 200m walk from the main street, and is dimly lit. It is ok for young travelers, would not be ideal for families or older travellers. It is a 12 minute walk from the Central Train Station or a 5 minute, €8 taxi ride. The staircase had exposed electrical wiring, the frame for the main doorway to our room was broken (security issue) and the roof above the aircon unit was missing, so we could see the wiring and services pipes above. None of this looked like it was going to be repaired, nor had been maintained ever. If Hotel Holiday is 3-stars, I'd say it got that many years ago and not a cent has been spent since. If you're staying in Bologna choose elsewhere.

Very convient for the centre of the city and close to many restaurants. The feature that made it stand out for us was the receptionist, Roberto who could not have been more helplful. He advised us about the sights of Bologna and where to get a relaxed , good value, meal that featured local dishes. He did all this with good humour and made our visit memourable

Excellent location, approximately halfway between the train station and the centre of town. The staff were great, the rooms clean, modern and comfortable. Lots of shops and restaurants only a few meters away. Very good value for money. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Although the room was rather small and noisy, this was amply made up for by the staff who were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The location is really great - just 15 minutes walking from railway station and in city center. Breakfast was ok, nothing special - but just the same as in other italian hotels. I was surprised by the staff upon arrival to the hotel. The man at reception gave me the key of the room, then took our passports to check us in, put them on the table and started leisurely to make coffee for himself. I did not intend to leave our passports at the reception so I asked whether I can take them. The man answered me irritadedly "First I need to do my job" and continued preparing coffee. I wonder if checking us in was not his job? :) Then he leisurely sat down at his computer, spoke with someone on the phone, drinking coffee... Checking us in took 25 minutes for him, while in other hotels it takes 5 minutes. All this time I was standing at the reception with my luggage.. The dining room is too small. The tables are so close to each other that while having breakfast you touch elbows of your neigbour by yours elbows. Moreover, sometimes it appears that person comes for breakfast and there is no free table for him.

Good location. For New Year Eve provided small bottle of sparkling wine. Very small shower cabin, no cleanliness in the room ( a lot of dust and hair on the floor). Breakfast was fair, as the food was running out much before the end of breakfast time.

Nice location close to all Bologna attractions We were three couples, and the rooms we had we rather apartments than normal hotel rooms. They all had a kitchenette, which, as far as I could understand, could be used for an additional price. The rooms were quite spacious, but not very clean (ours was more or less ok, but our friends' said they had a lot of dust in theirs) and quite dark. Breakfast room is tiny, so it's hard to find free space there.

The staff was nice and breakfast was sufficient. The hotel room was different in one way...the heater was through water pipes that made water drip sounds all through the night. I used earplugs to sleep. Also, the room was a bit cramped and the furniture and conditions were below a average in quality. The drip sounds were not so good. It is not the fault of the staff that the heating system is as it is......but you should be made aware that the water dripping sounds are there....up to you if that is a bother. Maybe not in the summer!

Bearing in mind that this is a 3* hotel and the rates are very reasonable we had no real complaints. The room was quite spacious and the heating efficient. Bed was comfortable and hot water plentiful. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was fine for a 3* Italian hotel - buffet style. It was just about 10 minutes to Piazza Nettuno and a bit more to the station. There are a good number of restaurants in the Via Righi area. From the hotel entrance you can see the supermarket Conad. The hotel is situated in a side street off Via Indipendenza . This road isn't attractive but nothing seedy. You can approach the hotel from Via Righi which is parallel to Via Bertiera walking down from the station.

The location of the hotel is very central, walking distance to practically anything. Noise from other rooms, such as shutting doors, showering etc as if they are in your room, otherwise fine.
