rude staff (had to convince them I had a booking), dingy room in a bad neighbourhood - felt unsafe
The hotel is in a good location, The staff are friendly and can speak English and the breakfast was fine.
Wifi is not free
Staff very helpful, all the questions answered, all problems solved by them, was a pleasure to meet such lovely people! Location Ok, close to all the main sights, nice restaurants in the area.
I think we got the worst room in the hotel, very small and it was kind of apart from other rooms, right next to the stairs so all the people walking to the lift or to their rooms were passing our room, we could hear every little sound in the corridor. But I think it's just that room only. I don't remember the number of the room, but would recommend to make sure that you don't get this room on the first floor by the stairs before you go there.
I was very pleased by the accommodation conditions. The hotel is located in the heart of Bologna, the staff was really polite and friendly, the room was spacious, modernly furnished and very clean. There was tea in the room and an electric kettle. We received a city map and in the morning, as we were leaving early to the airport, they prepared for us a breakfast package.
The only downside - the paid wifi.
I had a superior camera (room) on the 3rd floor. Seems like the room and indeed the entire floor was recently renovated. The room, bed, bathroom were very basic but they had really tasteful toiletries and the cleaning staff were efficient and thorough. I did not have to pay for wifi either (perhaps because of the type of room). Excellent location
Breakfast was just ok. A couple of mornings there was a stray hair and the tables were not cleaned immediately. Staff is not the friendliest.
Good location near shopping. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet. Taxi from the airport 17-18 €.
The pillows were hard. Light bulbs by the bed were a kind of blue.
Have stayed in Bologna many times and this was my first time in hotel holiday, polite helpful staff great location and great facilities for the price
The central location, you are almost in the heart of Bologna. The room was little but comfortable and clean. The receptionist on the evening of our arrival (sorry, forgot to ask her name) was very kind to give us the exact way to get directly to the hotel. She also suggested where to leave my car to pay less parking. That was very appreciated.
The room facing the alley is not quiet, I suggest to ask for a room on the back if you like silence. The breakfast was very very poor.
Overall we loved the hotel. It is located just right in the old town, which makes all the sights close by. Also the central station is 15-min walk away. Very friendly staff, nice breakfast served every morning, clean rooms and other hotel areas.
Our room was a little bit dark during the day, which wasn't too big of a deal as we only slept in the room, however, it was impossible to do makeup in the morning (9 or 10 am) without switching the lights on. As for the breakfast, we liked it a lot, just there was no vegetables at all - just an addition of olives or tomatoes would make a huge difference. No free wi-fi definitely a minus.
staff, location , breakfast ,cleanness ,price
The wall are very thin ,you can hear everything from the other rooms . Wifi is not free .
Location is superb and all the staff both friendly and professional. It was beautifully clean throughout, despite dated plumbing etc. When I asked if they had a better room I was immediately given the key to a different room, so I could see if I preferred it. It was much better than the room we had on the first night, and I appreciated the fact they let us swap without any fuss. It also had a kettle, which was really surprising and appreciated. Bologna is a fabulous city.
The room we had on the first night (103) had the tiniest shower room, complete with a broken wc seat... You literally couldn't move without bumping into the bidet - I'm only small and a larger person would struggle even more than I did. It also felt as if all the pipes in the hotel ran through the room, with constant noise of running water. It would have been ok for one night, but not four nights. I thought the breakfast was poor, even by Italian standards. Disposable/plastic drinking cups for fruit juice wasn't a particularly nice way to start the day, and the only cheese on offer was the sort you top a burger with- wrapped in clear film. It's such a pity because it could easily be a brilliant hotel. I often travel alone and would caution against Via Bertiera for single females because at night it's very dark and, rightly or wrongly, I would have felt quite vulnerable if I'd been alone on this holiday.
Location was great,staff good.
İnternet was not free as booking com claimed that it is included.
Great location just off the main commercial street that leads to the main square. Clean bedroom, good bathroom. Decent free breakfast with bread rolls, patisseries, cheese, ham, jam and nutella as well as juices and hot drinks. Staff were friendly
Clean, staff and location
Although it is an old building and for this reason you might expect heavy walls, actually the room we stayed in had extremely thin walls; all the 3 nights we stayed in we had the impression of sharing the room with multiple people, you can easily hear them snoring, normally discussing, moving, etc, not to mention bathroom and TV noises which were over them. In both rooms we shared walls with we had only ‘’normal’’ neighbors, not party people or so on.. Pity for the nice room, clean and well maintained hotel and also decent breakfast and communicative staff if we struggled to fell asleep and woke up in the morning in line with people surrounding us, no outside/ street disturbing, only inside ones.
Location and overall cleanliness. Price was reasonable.
The daytime staff were not as clear about parking/location as they could have been. We found the evening and weekend staff to be more friendly, approachable and professional.
Hotel position, friendly stuff
The croissants at breakfast. Rossanna was the best!
Lift was extremely slow, climbing stairs was hard after long days of walking but the worst was Room 302, could not sleep properly because of poor plumbing in building.
Spotlessly clean hotel, great central location close to all the main attractions. No noise even though so close to centre of city. 10 mins from station, Doesn't look great from outside but fine inside. Good breakfast friendly staff. Would recommend.
Felt dated (reception etc) and had to pay for Wifi (only place on our trip). Breakfast starts at 7.30. Had to rush before flight home.
it is clean and confortable. I like the old fashion condition of the hotel
Perfect location in the city centre. Very nice and professional staff. The room was clean and quiet (but there were no views). Good breakfast with different products (bread, eggs, cheese etc. not only sweets).
No free wi-fi! It costed 1 euro per hour, but, come on, it should be free! The elevator is quite old.
Central location but dodgy street. Some staff OK others snippy.
Small rooms, charge for every little thing, very 1980s, noisy air conditioning, no view except internal clothes drying area, steel door made it feel like the boxroom.
Excellent location. Very helpful staff.
The cabin in the bathroom was very small and unconfortsble. It could have been at least 10cm wider. There were no fresh fruits at breakfast.
Stuff was friendly and helpful
Internet not free Ugly and small elevator Location looks scary and dangerous at night Far from station for 10 mnt walk
