The location is great, although not the easiest to locate by car at leat it does have free parking. Also free is their wireless internet and there were a variety of newspapers available, including English langigaeg, albut American. The lounge/reception area is modest but comfortable and the freely available coffee and snacks is much appreciated. The cycles for riding the city wall and town were similarl appreciated. The rooms are comfortable. Whilst the breakfast variety is not extensive the quality is good. The terrace is spacious but what a shame that there is no ready service available for drinks and the like. It was unfortunate that one afternoon, when it woud have been valued for relaxation after walking the town, the terrace was closed for use by a wedding.

Quiet, peaceful bedroom, excellent storage, well designed conversion of a convent (Residenza dell'Alba). Good furnishings, selection of ambient lighting in room. Very comfortable bed and bedding.Obliging porter service. Inclusive buffet afternoon tea. Common lounge well appointed with comfy chairs and good reading materials, plus a bar. Quiet sun terrace with a jacuzzi/spa bath. Free bicycle loan. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location with parking on the premises. Will definately book it again. At 2:30 pm, the afternoon tea/buffet was all gone and not replenished.The bicycles for hire required servicing - poor brakes and gears. The jacuzzi/spa does not have a showering or changing area, so it is inconvenient for residents in Alba, across the road.

We arrived with friends and received a very warm and efficient welcome. All the staff without exception were friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel was first class and we especially appreciated the Buffet Breakfast and afternoon snacks in the price. You can book here with confidence and we would stay there again without hesitation! Our thanks to all the staff. Well done Hotel Ilaria! The beds were very firm but not uncomfortable, this is essentially a personal choice.

Excellent hotel with easy access to the city of Lucca. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast in sunny, enclosed terrace. Free snacks provided during the day. Well maintained, renovated building. Standard rooms are very small and would not be particularly comfortable for any stay beyond one night. However, for twenty or thirty euros more one can upgrade to one of the hotels large superior rooms and enjoy real luxury in the hotel's converted medieval annex. Well worth the extra money.

Hotel Ilaria is a clean and largely comfortable hotel conveniently situated for Lucca and surrounding area. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. It was great to have access to the free bikes and tea/coffee all day. The bed was very firm, bordering on uncomfortable.

Lovely hotel in good location, .nice room, really nice reception and cleaning, restaurant staff. Room not ready at check in time. Variable cleaning standards. Room was noisy with window open. Manager very rude and dismissive. Not good value for money.

I liked everything about this hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms lovely, breakfast great and you could get tea,coffee, cold drinks and lovely cakes, biscuits etc free of charge until 7.00pm. We also made use of the free bikes around the wall. This was great! I cannot say there was anything I did not like. Had a fab time. Hope to go back.

Very nice clean with charming the lobby is comfortable, serving snacks al day, great breakfast and spacoius rooms. Great value. Beds are a bit too hard for my taste.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very central to the old town of lucca and you can walk everywhere. Great fun being able to use the hotel bikes and ride around the wall and the town. The breakfast had everything in a light sunny room. The beds were a little hard but worth putting up with for the the location and the other facilities.
