The location is great, although not the easiest to locate by car at leat it does have free parking. Also free is their wireless internet and there were a variety of newspapers available, including English langigaeg, albut American. The lounge/reception area is modest but comfortable and the freely available coffee and snacks is much appreciated. The cycles for riding the city wall and town were similarl appreciated. The rooms are comfortable. Whilst the breakfast variety is not extensive the quality is good. The terrace is spacious but what a shame that there is no ready service available for drinks and the like. It was unfortunate that one afternoon, when it woud have been valued for relaxation after walking the town, the terrace was closed for use by a wedding.

Quiet, peaceful bedroom, excellent storage, well designed conversion of a convent (Residenza dell'Alba). Good furnishings, selection of ambient lighting in room. Very comfortable bed and bedding.Obliging porter service. Inclusive buffet afternoon tea. Common lounge well appointed with comfy chairs and good reading materials, plus a bar. Quiet sun terrace with a jacuzzi/spa bath. Free bicycle loan. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location with parking on the premises. Will definately book it again. At 2:30 pm, the afternoon tea/buffet was all gone and not replenished.The bicycles for hire required servicing - poor brakes and gears. The jacuzzi/spa does not have a showering or changing area, so it is inconvenient for residents in Alba, across the road.

Lovely hotel, excellently placed for visiting Lucca on foot in this beautiful walled city. Friendly and very helpful staff - just thoroughly enjoyed our stay - and their associated restaurants were excellent too.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was fantastic. Spacious, comfortable, well-appointed -- on two floors. A superb experience. Free coffee-bar in hotel from 11am-7pm was good; also free use of bikes. Great location within walls of Lucca -- their recommended restaurants were also outstanding. Excellent breakfast buffet too Nothing

This well placed hotel just inside the city wall of Lucca is a fantastic base for a stay in this lovely and interesting city. Although our room was just down from the main hotel which was a bit annoying if we wanted to do anything at the hotel or go for meals, the room definately made up for it. It was large and very comfortable. We made good use of the hotels bikes to cycle around the city walls and there are many restaurants, shops and interesting things to do within short distance from the hotel. Being put in a block which was quite apart from the actual hotel.

Convenient location just inside historic city walls. Good breakfast, attentive service, nice and comfortable rooms. Very good value for money. Leaking shower caused flooding of the bathroom floor.

Really a very nice hotel. Good breakfast. Good location. Good wi-fi connection: it's free and speedy enough. There was no proper curtains to shield your room from the street. The curtains were semi-transparent. Not very pleasant given that there are houses on the opposite side of the street. I also missed a blanket. It was a little chilly in the night with just a plain sheet to cover yourself with.

Arriving at night in the pouring rain, we found a pleasant surprise in the heart of beautiful Lucca. This hotel is a gem. Accessing by car is difficult as is anything in Lucca. But they offer parking and a serious help in visiting the area.

The position of the Hotel was excellent.the car parking facilities were very good.the first impressions of the hotel were good and the staff were efficient. The classic room was very small and dark the view was over the hotel yard.The bathroom had black mould around the bath.The breakfast had little choice and what there was was poor quality especially the fruit juices.The hotel was not up to the standard expected when charging over £200 per night.

Good location, Nice breakfast. Nice that they have free bikes. It was the worst bed I've ever tried to sleep on. Extremely tough mattress. Not comfortable at all. Really hard to have a good night sleep.

Perfect position within the old walled city, we were upgraded to a very large suite with 2 bathrooms and sitting room. We used the hotel bicycles to see all the sights.
