Set in Bologna's historic quarter, Zanhotel Il Canale is named for the canal which it overlooks. Cozy and friendly, the hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Piazza Maggiore. Rooms at Il Canale are brightly decorated and come with satellite TV, air conditioning and minibars. Some have charming views over the little Aposa canal behind the hotel. Il Canale is well-located whether you need to be at Fiera di Bologna or want to go visit the Two Towers. The airport shuttle bus stops close by and the train station is a short walk away. Location No internet access in hotel. Break first room is located in basement without any outside view. There is a porno shop next door.

The staff were accommodating and allowed us to switch to their sister hotel when we complained that our room was unacceptable. The air conditioning did not work and it was cooler outside that inside the room. Also the carpet was not cleaned and had bread crumbs all over the floor.

Very cental location is great for exploring Ravenna and eating out. Breakfast in the garden is lovely. Attractive decor. Air con is essential when it gets very hot. I think the breakfast could have been better within the budget range. Some fresh fruit rather than tinned fruit salad would have been nice.

Excellent location near the main shopping street, many bars and trattorias and the main square, too. Wonderful towels in the bathroom, nice colours, nice cleaning service. Breakfast ok. Personnel very good and helpful. Double room a was smaller than expected, and a bit dark. Air conditioning was a practically useless. No bathing slippers (mentioned in the reservation situation).

The location and the helpful and friendly staff,who exceeded our expectations. One of the rooms had an unpleasant smell due to the proximity of the canal and the heat - but the staff moved our friends as son as an an alternative room was free.

Everything was fine and everyone was friendly and spoke and understood english well. The breakfast was quite good and plentyfull unless you got there after 8;30 or later. Our only problem was an odor from the toilet now and then. It wasn't very strong, but unpleasant, of course. Mr. & Mrs. B.C. Winn San Francisco, CA

Zanhotel Il Canale was a pleasant place to stay in Bologna. We ordered a triple room and had two seperate rooms, a single and a double in the one suite. The bathroom was large with a good shower. This suited our party of three adults perfectly. Staff were helpful. Breakfast sufficient but not the best we have had in our travels. Well placed to visit all the sights and shopping. Nothing negative really, suited our purposes at a reasonable rate

Very friendly staff, helpful with smiles.. I booked a single room, and was given a room on ground floor opposite the reception, which means that during the night, when their phone rand, it woke me up, next morning, I mentioned this to the staff, and I was moved to a different quite room,,,,,no fuss, and very helpful.

Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, fijne nette ruime kamer, perfecte locatie en een verborgen schat op de bovenste verdieping: klein dakterrasje met zon!! Ontbijt was niet heel uitgebreid, maar wel lekker. Geen enkele kamer heeft een bad. Wel hele fijn douche overigens.

Erinomainen sijainti.Rauhallinen hotelli,ei kuulu liikenteen melu. Aamiainen sisältyi hintaan ja oli riittoisa.Henkilökunta miellyttävää. Hotellista puuttuu baari.Ikkuna näkymät huonot.Tarkempi siivous olisi paikallaan.Telkkarista vain Italiankielistä ohjelmaa,viikon oleskelu olisi kaivannut englanninkielisiä uutisia.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. Alles ist fußläufig gut zu erreichen. 4 Sterne sind etwas übertrieben. Die Einrichtung war etwas abgenutzt, aber sauber. Leider liegen einige Zimmer zur Strasse. Die Lärmbelästigung ist schon groß. Ein offenes Fenster während der Nacht ist nicht möglich.
