Hotel Il Faro  

-ambiente sobrio, rilassante, tranquillo; personale simpatico e disponibile; servizi efficienti; ristorante annesso all'albergo ottimo; eccellente la posizione per chi deve visitare le isole.

La posizione è sicuramente l'aspetto maggiormente positivo di questo hotel. La vista sul mare delle camere che ce l'hanno (secondo piano da 200 a 210) è molto bella.

La colazione è a dir poco vergognosa. Io l'ho fatta alle 9. era tutto stantio. Poco e male. Un'unica bottiglia d'acqua da 1.5l per tutti. Yogurt scadente. Dolci scadenti. Male molto male. I mobili delle camere sono sporchi e gli arredi bagno sono arrugginiti.

mi ha colpito molto il colore degli interni dell'hotel, la posizione, il buffet abbondante della prima colazione...insomma tutto.....ho apprezzato molto anche il rapporto qualità/prezzo, lo consiglierei volentieri!!!!!!!!!!

We thought that the staff were fantastic and very helpful. As the hotel was not full we were upgraded to a Sea view room at no extra charge.The hotel facilities were excellent apart from the Wifi which was a little difficult, but the shower was the best in Italy!. The room views were wonderful over the port area, and the location to Capri and Naples ferries were none better. A 2 minute walk to restaurants on the sea front. The stairs descent from the upper town at night was easy with the magnificent fairy-land lit port below beckoning the night cap on arrival. Bus access to the town squares and station was easy. We just loved our other-world place! Central for visiting day visits to Pompeii and Amalfi Coast.

The only problem was the difficulty with Wifi access, but this was solved by the staff.

The location was ideal for our purposes of ferry trips to other towns and the restaurant attached to the hotel was very good and offered a 10% discount to Il Faro guests.

The air conditioner was very noisy and leaving the french doors open was not an option as it was not secure and also it was very noisy with noise from traffic & the port. Breakfast was not great for us Australians as it was mostly sweat breads but we survived.

The hotel which is a 3 star hotel is in an excellent location on the Marina Piccolo, well positioned for enjoying all that the Amalfe Cost has to offer, only a minute walk to the ferries for visiting the islands and other ports of interest. The walk to the centre is a short but a very step one however every 15 minutes up to 2230 one can take a bus which only cost €1, the same bus for the same price also takes you to the main railway station which is very convenient as not only can you catch trains to Naples but also buses to other areas on the cost, most important it is also the terminal for the coach to and from Naples airport costing €10 each way. The room was a sea view one that I highly recommend, not only is the view across the bay a pleasant one but the hassle and bustle adds to the sprit of Italian life, by 2030 the area is relatively quite and there is a choice of 2 or 3 restaurants in the immediate area however the hotel also has an excellent fish restaurant. The bathrooms are small and the shower will be uncomfortable for large people. The management and staff where helpful and could communicate well in English. I was on BB, which was sufficient as I do recommend you make the most of the evening and visit the many opportunities in Sorrento, if not for a meal then for a coffee and a pastry and of course joining the locals for a gelato and the famous passeggiata, the ritual evening walk

The hotel at times caters for groups which effects the breakfast as the choice is less unless you arrive before the groups do.

The people were kind and helpful! The food was good and the rooms were clean and had all we needed.

Pas de chauffage possible dans la chambre. Chambre humide.

Nous beaucoup apprèciè que le patron nous reçoive en parlant Français nous trouve de suite une excursion du Vésuve et de pompéi et s'occupe de la réservation. Par ailleurs la recommandation du restaurant avec une remise spéciale El Faro , a été très bien de bonne qualité et le personnel très pro et parlant Français.

La seule fausse note concerne l'excursion ou la guide Fracesca ne nous a fait aucun commentaire en Français et surtout à Pompéi nous a fait rentré dans la ville par une autre entrée que l'entré principale par laquelle nous sommes sorties ! Nous nous sommes appercus qu'il avait la possibilité de louer des audio guides en Français. Ceci aurraient rendu la visite pour nous et des canadiens beaucoup plus interressant, elle savait que l'on avait demandé des audio guides elle aurait pu nous l'indiquer!!

La ubicacion del hotel es el punto fuerte, esta en pleno Puerto, las vistas del mar son buenisimas y es un buen punto de partida para alguna salida hacia Amalfi, Capri, etc.

El hotel no ofrece servicio de wii fii libre; te lo cobran 5 euros la hora, una estafa a mi entender, ya que en b&b de menor categoria, o iincluso en Hostels, el servicio de internet es gratis. Por otro lado, las camas ya son muy viejas, deberian cambirle los cochenos, las almohadas y laropa de cama en general, incluyendo las toallas.

Faltaba mantenimiento enlas habitaciones. Desayuno muy básico.

Excelente atencion del personal y muy limpio.

No me pareció bien que te carguen 5 euros por solo una hora de acceso a internet y el "jardin" era solo un balcon con vista al edificio contiguo
