Set in the Medieval quarter of Assisi, Hotel Giotto is just 650 ft from the Basilica of Saint Francis. It offers an elegant restaurant with spa center and panoramic views out over Spoleto and Perugia....
Score from 225 reviews Very good
Hotel Minerva is near the Basilica of St. Francis and the main historic and religious monuments in Assisi. All rooms offer a private bathroom, a TV, and a panoramic view of the Umbrian Valley.
Score from 327 reviews Excellent
Hotel Fontebella, features a classic, renaissance style throughout the establishment. The establishment enjoys an exquisite view of a beautiful Umbrian valley.
Score from 243 reviews Very good
Built in the style of a 19th-century Umbrian residence, this new 4-star hotel is immersed within the lush greenery of its own private park, complete with olive groves, tall trees and a swimming pool.
Score from 504 reviews Excellent
This hotel was in a great location - a 5-10 minute walk (uphill but not too steep) from the car park, which was reasonably priced (€12 for 24 hrs), and yet right in the heart of the town. It was full of character, and the owners clearly love art - our room was called Puccini, and had opera-related pictures on the wall. Our room had fantastic views of the rooftops and of the wonderful Umbrian landscape. The bathroom was lovely - although while we were there, we had no hot water. The morning receptionist we reported it to couldn't speak English, so we didn't know whether this was a temporary problem or something more ongoing. The afternoon receptionist, however, spoke excellent English, and gave us superb recommendations about what to see and where to eat. Definitely a great choice!
Good value for the price Easy to find our way Staff helpful Breakfast was good - breads, fruits, yogurt and juice (an Italian breakfast)
Wifi was weak in room but good in common area
Good, quiet location Friendly, helpful staff Great Views from our upstairs room
Air-conditioning not working Could not use wifi in room. Had to go to reception
Not a lot
I booked a suite expecting a little more comfort and luxury at 298 euros for 2 nights. I asked why the air con wasent working told dont have any! although there was a large air con unit on the roof outside out room, also the give away units in our room! The breakfast was very poor, perhaps based upon the former monks liking! Parked in the underground park outside the main gates, our host requested we gave her our ticket and in return we were given another ticket which will only cost us 16 euro against the normal price of 22euro. When I tried this ticket it was refused so I had to pay again!!! (is this another tourist trap?) So should I recommend this hotel NO.
breakfast is too simple.
everything was excellent
beautiful building with friendly staff; great view from our room. Nice bathroom with good shower.
room very small (hardly could move about); very hard beds; first time we have had a breakfast served with no bread (!), just sweet 'cornetti', thus scanty breakfast.
Very personalized service by the owner/manager, nicely appointed.
Great location, comfortable room. The outside patio overlooks a beautiful view.
The room was advertised as air-conditioned, but there is no air-conditioning. The television is old and tempermental. Because we left before 8 a.m., we were not able to get any breakfast, not even coffee.
Location is very good, at a short walk distance from both San Francesco and the Palazzo del Comune. Close to all amenities in Assisi. The building is a very nice and typical Assisi old house. The room (Puccini), although a bit small, has got all what you need, bathroom comfortable and clean. The owner is a very nice lady. And so is the staff.
Too short stay.
The staff were incredible and full of great suggestions and support. The location was perfectly central to everything that we desired to see. The property was immaculate and beautiful and simply a gorgeous place to stay and the price was very reasonable. Was pleasantly surprised with the full espresso bar with novelty drinks to enjoy every morning. Will definitely stay again :)
Beds could have been a bit more comfortable. Breakfast had no protein.
I liked the beautiful vista from my room and my long chats with Gabby the proprietor
Traveling solo with luggage it was problematic finding the property uding public transport I suggest if solo you should condider a taxi from the train or bus stop
Location was good. Room was clean and comfortable.
Wi Fi wouldn't work. Breakfast could have had more options.
Loved the cleanliness of the hotel as well as convenient location.
WiFi only available in reception area.
The staffs are really easygoing, the breakfast was good, the location is near to the main church, you can easily walk to the entire city departuring from the hotel. There is a good restaurant called pane e vino.... its only a recomendation if you wanna know.
Nothing at all.
Excellent location, walking distance to all major sights. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and we had many enjoyable talks with them. Great room, good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the JFI Hermitage and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the accommodations were comfortable. On our next trip, we will definitely return to this hotel.
Staff was friendly and kind, provide quality breakfast, command very nice view etc.
Nice clean little hotel.
The room was cold, as most houses in Italy during winter time. The owner definitely had an attitude of CCL.
We loved the owner and her eagerness to help us in where to eat and what to see. She was very friendly and sweet enough to recognize our anniversary! Her right hand gal was also wonderful and made our morning breakfasts delightful!
That our time here ended!
Location friendliness good value good bathroom water etc., unlike many hotels in Italy in old buildings
