Friendly and efficient staff, pretty (and typical) Venetian room, nice courtyard for a quiet drink, perfect location, comfortable sitting room.Note: can't really rate services and facilities because you don't expect swimming pools etc. in any Venice hotels (except 5 star and Lido). Hard bed and dreadful pillows, unexciting breakfast (by today's standards), unacceptable queue for coffee machine at breakfast (why not coffee and tea pots brought to table?), loose electrical wall sockets (they were told). Note: tricky to recommend the Fenice as everyone's tastes and requirements are different. Any complaints or compliments I might have at any hotel are always given during my stay. |

Venice is expensive and this hotel is not comparing it to others in the area. The room was clean. No screen on window, so bugs would come in and the restaurant smells came up so you can't have fresh air. Minimal amenities. Have to bring your luggage up stairs with no one to assist. |

service was good, staff was dedicated I found the internet system quite weird: firstly, the wifi only works in the lounge, not in the room. secondly, the passwords last a maximum of two hours only and then you have to ask for another one. additionally, a board at the reception says you'd have to pay for it, so you always fear they will charge you.... the juices at the breakfast were awful, the worst I've ever tried |

It was traditional style and full of charm. The position was good for St. Marks square and sightseeing. The air conditioning was not very good. |

I love the rooms and the staff are fantastic, considrate and friendly. I left my bag in the breakfast room one morning and it was immediatly returned intact. Having the newspapers available, Italian and the herald tribune was a nice touch. The breakfast could include eggs as I am not a fan of meats in the morning. |

Great to have music at breakfastWhat a find!!!! loved the room, opened the windows it was a "Merchant Ivory" film moment!! canal, wee bridge, Gondiliers etc.....and so very in the heart of it all - Fantastic Staff! Easy to locate, quiet, friendly.Loves all the art in hotel. Great to have music in the Dining room at breakfast, but if staying a week, "Sting" gets a bit repetitive!!! The area to the right outside to the bridge is untidy, as it is featured in guides as hidden Venice, which spoils this. |

The location near the opera house is interesting and helped in locating the hotel. The walk is nearly the same from either side of San Marcos where the vaporetto stops. It is central to that part of Venice. The staff is welcoming. The room was warm in the day time with an unusual warm spell for the time of the year. We left the window opened the first night and mosquitoes came into the room. |

The situation is very convenient, very central and near every exciting place in Venice, though the hotel is in a very quiet place. The staff is nice and helpful. The outside terraces are charming. The rooms are neat and clean. Prices are attractive. Some single rooms are really tiny, with small beds. The breakfast buffet is nothing great, rather minimum standard. |

It is very central, I have stayed on previous occasions. The breakfast is fairly basic...After all we are in Italy and expect better coffee... Ooops sorry, didn't scroll down....coffee was poor and croissants and bread pretty bland... |

The central yet quiet location. The plants at the hotel in the window boxes, the court yard and trees n pots at the front. We would have prefered the house keeping staff to adhere to the displayed "Do not disturb" sign. |

The breakfast was alright and there's plenty of space and tables on the ground floor for meetings or having some drinks. The so-called free Internet connection is only good for 15 minutes per day. The single room was small and dark. Even though there's an elevator, it only goes from the 1st to the 3rd floor--I stayed in the 4th floor and so still had to drag my luggage through many stairs (ground to 1st and then 3rd to 4th). |

Hotel Sant'Elena gives you the chance to explore Venice from a peaceful, green area just a 10-minute water-bus ride from Saint Mark's square. Relax in this former convent's well-kept gardens. |
Set directly on the canal bank this elegant hotel features comfortable guest rooms, a traditional restaurant, and a panoramic roof terrace. Walk to St. Mark’s Square in 5 minutes. |
Hotel Rialto has one of the best views of Rialto Bridge in Venice. It is set right next to the Grand Canal and provides beautifully decorated rooms and suites. |
Full of elegant Venetian charm, the Al Codega is a welcoming hotel set back from the main streets in a quiet courtyard located between Rialto and Saint Mark's Square. |
