The locación is very good 10 to 15 min walk from the train station, the breakfast was ok, not bad. This is the most over paid hotel I've ever stayed at! The a/c system has not worked for a while and the rooms need a paint job. Walls are dirty, humidity stains all over, the bathtubs are disgusting with dirt along the edges and hairs. The hotel staff was unhelpful, told us that the a/c problem was of ALL the hotels in Venice, not true. The place is in need of a urgent renovation for 200 plus euros a night. Only one hour of free wifi per stay after that 2 euro for additional hours. All of the other hotels we stayed in Italy the wifi was completely free. And the signal did not reach our room! The photos on the web site are deceiving to say the lest!

On the one hand, the location is really a big advantage: you can easily walk to any sights of the town. Even when the staff recommend you to take a waterbus to reach some of the sights, don't hesitate to go there on foot. The locals really overestimate distances. On the other hand, its location may be a disadvantage at night. Our room faced the noisy street, so we had to sleep with closed windows. It was rather hot, so we would have preferred a bit of fresh air.

Our room was small but comfortable with 2 small balconies, safe did not work and hairdryer had little power. Breakfast was fine and hotel offered good value. Our friends room next to ours was 'tired' and in need of a make over, we would usually have requested another room but did not do so due to our late arrival.

It was situated on a main "thoroughfare" next to a bridge over a canal. It was about 15-20 minutes pleasant walk from Rialto, and about 25-30 minutes from St Mark's Square. It took us 6-7 minutes to walk from Guglie bridge, where we arrived from the airport by Alilaguna waterbus (orange line). The room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, so I would advise taking a travel kettle and supplies.

We liked the location as it was central to the things we wanted to visit. As it was our second visit we decided that the Hotel La Forcola ticked all our boxes. We had nothing to complain about otherwise we would not have used the La Forcola again, as we were there in March 2011 for a long week-end.

The staff were very friendly & helpful. The hotel was clean. Shower\bathroom I could not figure this out as the shower was in the same compartment as the toilet and bidet so I ended covering the toilet in water which did not drain away properly. Breakfast I am not a lover of sweet things so my breakfast consisted of 2 bread rolls and nothing more. These are just my personal points everything else about the hotel I could not complain about

This is a great buy. No one can expect better in Venice for that price. People have criticized the breakfast, but believe me, in more expensive hotels it is the same. This is how breakfast is in Italy. Great geographical situation, walking distance to everything and close to the calm streets and canals of Canareggio for those who are not first timers in Venice. The coffee could be better. The air conditioning is noisy. You can turn the latter off when your room is cooled and good coffee, you can get it anywhere on the street.

The best part of the hotel is its location, close to the train station, on the main street and easy access to Vaporato and other tourist hangouts. Walking distance to Rialto Bridge and other activities. We arrived very early in the morning by train and were disappointed that the hotel was locked. After a bit of banging we got in. The breakfast was very basic, for similar room rates we had much better breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and made the stay pleasant and easy. Nothing was a problem. They changed my room without question. It had lovely views over the canal from the bedroom windows. The rooms needed a little bit of love and attention but were generally very clean and acceptable.
