Run by the same family since 1854, Hotel Roma e Rocca Cavour is one of the oldest hotels in Turin. Surrounded by lush gardens, it is across from to Porta Nuova Train Station.
Score from 1344 reviews Very good
Very nice hotel. Good location very helpful staff
No air con so we had to have the window open and even though we were on the 9th floor it sounded like the trams and people talking were on the balcony. There are rooms at the rear I think they would be quieter.
Nice breakfast and courteous, helpful staff.
Couldn't get wifi in the bedroom.
The people, food, comfort.
The fact I had to leave...
General attention to detail of the staff.
No ramp access to hotel for baby stroller / wheelchair. Very small elevators, again not for normal people but f
nice and clean
The whole place and location. The friendly staff.
Staff weren't really friendly and unhelpful. Although the man serving breakfast was really nice
The reception area is very modern, loved the decorations and furniture. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was a solid 3 stars- modern furniture, white sheets, clean and modern bathroom. Really enjoyed the hotel room. Breakfast was also very good, although they could have included plain yogurt and more fruit. Loved the decor of the breakfast room, too.
Include more fruit variety at breakfast. Otherwise, hotel was perfect.
comfortable bed balcony nicely equipped
rather thin walls between rooms
I liked the friendliness of the whole staff who anticipated my needs. I liked the beauty and the rationality of the room, which made me feel at home. I had at hand everything I needed. I liked the design of the hotel.
Hospitality of the staff was the best, location was very near to the station. They speak english well and made it feel as in home
Paintings about women, it gives a bad impression about the hotel on the first look.
Design: blue walls, bright bed clothes... Bright green light from signboard "lancaster" in our room all the night
very good breakfast
I must have dropped my diamond ring in the room sometime. When i entered the room ring was standing on the desk where i can see easily. It feels so safe and I appreciate house keeping lady's work!
No wifi in the room.
Breakfast was good. Close to the electric bus station and close to train.
It was not close to the center of town but not too bad a walk.
friendly staff very comfortable room
poor breakfast distance from centre of Turin
An efficiently run hotel that is a comfortable walk, mostly under covered foot paths, from Turino Porte Nova station. Very easy to find. Breakfast was excellent.
Comfortable bed, very helpful and friendly staff and good value.
Poor air conditioning in my room.
Good bad and view from the room
Wi-Fi was declared but not exist
Architecture of Turin
Absence of Wi-Fi during 7 days of my visit in contradiction with the hotel advertisement and staff reluctance to correct the situation. I would never recommend Lancaster to my colleagues and friends.
Price, staff, food, design, clearness, comfort (except noise)
Noise of trams (and neighbours also).
1. Extremly friendly personal 2. The breakfast and the person who is serving and making the breakfast, you can ask him to make for example omlet and he wiil do it for you personaly (and very good) and cofee is also as good as it should be in Italy :-)
1. destination to city centre 2. sometimes something was not working properly: light, shower, etc.... but you can call the personal and they will fix it.
The hotel staff was excellent, we had a health emergency and they helped us immensely. We could not be more content with our choice of accomodation. Value for money for sure. The room was spacious, with stylish furniture. The hotel products (bath etc.) were of excellent quality. The breakfast made our day. Fresh coffee made at the spot, not pre-made like in other hotels.
Nothing, we were lucky to to be there.
Immaculately clean and staff was welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast. I would stay here again without hesitation. It's a bit further from the train station than I had realized, but you can take a tram practically to the doorstep of the hotel for 1.5 or 2.5 euros (costs extra if you buy ticket on the train). Turn left off the train platform and you will see the #4 tram. Take the tram traveling to your left, in the same direction as outbound trains from the train station.
The Internet didn't reach my room on the sixth floor, and judging from my descent on the stairs, it doesn't extend far from the lobby and the downstairs breakfast room. But wifi access is free and password protected, which made me happy. One other thing: before I knew about the tram route, I walked back to the hotel alone one night, and one stretch of the street between the train station and the hotel made me uneasy, and I'm usually not especially easy to intimidate. I think the area was probably a bit more deserted than usual because it was August. Take the tram late at night and you will avoid the situation. All in all, I would happily stay here again.
