This hotel was excellent value for money. I was really impressed on arriving - the staff were very welcoming, the room was simply and stylish furnished with comfy, huge beds, modern bathrooms and wood furnishings. The breakfast simple - as expected for a two-star - and filling. Perfect location and very easy to get to from the train station. Would highly recommend the Medici. Thank you lovely Medici staff! Look you stay at a city centre hotel to be centrally located so there will be a bit of street noise (not the hotel's fault guys!) and don't anyone complain about the Dumo bells - you'll paying to be centrally located (hello!) next to this gorgeous Renaisance building. This is a two-star plus - oh and to counter some draft complaints on this site - the breakfast rolls are delightfully fresh and tasty. If anyone wants a bigger breakfast and air-con go to the Hilton and pay through the noise and don't critize the delightful Medici. Nuff said!

Location is good, in the center of the city. Very close to major attractions, monuments, museums. A lot of good reastaurants, shops around. Sometimes its unbearable because of the bells of churchs around. Moreover, you will always hear sound of water somewhere because of thin walls. Breakfast is consist of jam, butter and bread along with coffe or tea ; no cheese, ham etc.

Good location at the center of the city. The toilette is shared and only one on the floor. The rooms need a renovation and better cleaning. It's a little noisy. Breakfast was also poor.

The hotel was in a fantastic location - a street away from the Duomo. We were only a few minutes walk from Termini station - and easy walking distance from all the key sights. The room was comfortable and you could buy water, beer etc from the reception desk at very reasonable places. The roof terrace was lovely, with a view of the Duomo and tables and chairs for guests to use. The hotel had a slightly run down feel. The shower leaked badly (had to use all the towels to mop up the floor after every shower) and the lights were really dim which I thought was romantic until my boyfriend tripped over in the half-light and ruined the atmosphere with a few words! The breakfast was very basic just rolls and jam and weak coffee - I'd recommend skipping it and eating at the gorgeous pastry shop downstairs.

The hotel's location is perfect. It was very cold in the room: max 15 °C The wind blew through the closed window. There were unpleasant smells in the hotel especially in the staircase.

The location is good, right next to the Duomo. Our room had a view of the Duomo out of two large french doors. Fantastic. The room was large with high ceiling. The bathroom was nice with a bidet and shower, although the shower did not have a soap dish. There was a desk and big closet, good for two people. The staff were all nice and spoke good English. Great value. We have been to Florence many times at several other hotels and will now stay here next time we return. Sparse breakfast with weak coffee. No internet.

Just the location, in the centre of the city There is unbearable smell inside the hotel, the toilet of our room was awful the shower curtain was a little bit dirty and there was nothing inside the toilet to separate the shower from the other space. There was full of mildew in the toilet and in the whole hotel. The blankets seemed to be very tight and old.The carpets are disgusting and full of dirt and the towels look more like sheet than towels. The breakfast was very poor, including only bread, jam and coffee with not so fresh bread. Actually, the hotel needs urgently cleaning and painting because hygiene is in overall in question.

The location, in the center of Florence; the price is one of the best of Florence. The bedroom was allright. There's no wifi nor television; The hot water had no pressure in the 4th floor, and so the shower had little water. The bathroom is also small. The coffee was cold!

The hotel was central - easy walking to any of the major tourist attractions and restaurants. Perfect Location. You can hear people in the street but thats a price to pay when you are in such a prime location.

Location. Price. Car park service is crap. Expensive, and they take your car away (and take there time picking it up and dropping it off) so you go without access to your car until you leave.

Location is perfect! Terassa on the 6 floor is great! Bathroom is small and a little bit uncomfortable. The room should be perfect for a spring/summer. In december it`s quite cold, the window didn`t close properly.

The location and the views from the 6th floor. I have stayed at this hotel many times however I feel that they are letting it go down. The reception neds a major coat of paint. The shower curtain was not attached all the way. The bedroom needed painting. The carpets were filthy and needed to be replaced or shampooed. It is a shame as the location is fabulous and even being a 2 or 3 star, it should be taken care of. I also have a problem. When we arrived in Milan by air, we went to the train station to get to Florence only to find a strike. I had booked 4 nights at Hotel Medici but was unable to get there because of the train strike. I called and said that we couldn't get there that night would arrive the next morning which we did. We deposited our baggage and left for a tour. When we went to pay, I asked about a discount for the first night as it really wasn't our fault and it surely wasn't theirs however they refused to do anything. What would be the correct solution? I am now out a night in Milan and a night in Florence.

Booked into the hotel only to be told I was in a apartment six streets away, so plodded back thro the streets to find a shared residential block, the room was ok, but the boiler in in the main bedroom, firing up every few mins, which I turned off in the end as kept me awake, with obvious cold effects when I woke up, the bathroom is a triangle shape and when sat on the toilet end up burning knees on radiator. Next morning have to go back six streets to have my breakfast and to check out, the breakfast if I can call it that was two stale bread tools, frozen butter and a jam/marmalade chucked onto table by a very grumpy member of staff. I work with traveling public nd I no how they wear you down, but this as by far the worse customer service I've had in a long time. I realise I paid a good price for the accommodation but will not want to go back to this hotel again. And I've stayed some rare locations before .

The hotel offers a splendid view from the terrace at the top floor. It is in a very central position and the price was reasonably good. The stairs were not really clean.

The rooftop balcony with the view of the Duomo was the main reason I booked this hotel--and it was a lovely view. However, it is adjacent to rooms on the 6th floor and I felt distinctly unwelcome on the room. So That wasn't so good. The location was very central in Florence and I did like that. The balcony was advertised as though it was for everyone--and maybe it was. However, it felt like I was walking on the balconies of the people renting the rooms on the 6th floor. I only went there once and left rather quickly because of this. Also the room was not that clean. The baths were not very good.

Friendly, helpful staff for the most part. . Close to major places of interest. Not having a toilet in my room was a major headache, especially since I got a nasty case of foodpoisoning and had to spend the night trotting back and forth from my room down the hall to the one toilet on the floor. Also they advertised that they served breakfast, but all there was to eat was bread which I cannot eat because of gluten intolerence. When I asked if they could please boil me two eggs since I can't eat the bread. Their attitude was that if I couldnt eat their free breakfast, tough. They felt no obligation to do more.

Location. Ideally situated. Close to all the tourist attractions in the city. Within walking distance of all the main attractions and also to the station. Room spacious and bathroom very spacious with excellent shower. On arrival we learned that we were booked into the annex which was some distance from the hotel and we struggled with our luggage. Also breakfast was poor in comparrison with the other accomodation we stayed in Italy in this price range.
