We were on the top floor and had a view of Il Duomo from our bed. The balcony and the location made this hotel worth the money paid.
The room was not nice at all. The paint was peeling and only one light worked. The website said the room would have an attached bathroom. It had a shower head and curtain in the corner of the room, no toilet. That was down the hall. We could hear every conversation the neighbors had and the street noise woke us up every morning. Probably not a hotel suitable for a family with kids.
No TV, wifi, jug, washing machine in the apartments. Breakfast was just bread and jam.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! The place is very good for the price! Pretty clean too!
Not all the staff is helpful!
The breakfast -- rolls and jam and butter -- and the cappuccino from an automatic dispenser. Breakfast? Really? Both very poor. But worst of all is the nasty attitude of the breakfast "server" who seems to hate her job and everyone who stays at the hotel.
The location was excellent 2 minutes away from Duomo.
The bathroom measured 2.5 feet by 3.5 feet and in that cramped space - toilet, bidet sink and shower. So small that the shower sprayed directly onto toilet seat cover which had half its paint worn away. The plug hole of sink and drain of the toilet were both black and smelly. No air con so windows had to be left open - noise all night from street cleaners and refuse collectors
When I got to the hotel I found I wasn't staying in the hotel but in an apartment about 5 mins walk away - but it's quite difficult to find. They give you a map, but it's not easy. The spoertment was very old fashioned, but the sheets and towels were clean. The breakfast was awful. Coffee and tea out of a machine and a couple of rolls and jam, really pathetic and tasted horrid. The breakfast room was too small. The hallway and stairs in the hotel are dirty and it all looks very tired. I'm sure you can find budget hotels nicer than this one.
Great location, close to all the sights The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Eventhough, she was not in a position to sort out the gluten free breakfast option, she kindly put together a list of gluten free restaurants which was greatly appreciated.
Being woken up early every morning by the bells of the Duomo. I am coeliac and had advised in advance of my arrival that I would need some gluten free food for breakfast. There was no gluten free option, and the only thing on offer for breakfast was bread or cereal, no fruit. As a result, I was unable to avail of breakfast for the 4 days of my stay.
The filthy cigarettes in an old wine bottle left in the cupboard, the leaking toilet, no tv, the dirty stove and kitchenette, no wifi, no windows... Absolutely disgusting. And even after they did not seemed shocked by our complaints, they still charged us 50%. Very poor hospitality indeed. Do not book here.
Location is good
no wi-fi in room
Dirty in the common areas Noisy, even at night
Central location right between Cathedral and Piazza della Signoria. Easy walk to all main sights and great choice of bars, restaurants etc. Excellent value and the negative points are acceptable for such a cheap 2 star hotel.
Very tired décor and tatty bathroom which flooded every time I showered. No a/c so had to sleep with open windows and terrible noise from bin lorries and deliveries to hotel opposite from very early (04:00). Awful breakfast: poor machine coffee and watery juice plus two chewy rolls and jam. May have been "free", but that was it; better to go outside and pay for decent coffee!
The Hotel Constantini has a good location and friendly and helpful staff.
I booked previously The hotel Medici and I ended up being sent to another Hotel named Constantini. What it was a bit less comfortable then the other one that I knew previously. I felt unfairly treated by the hotel, as I didn't get what I expected.
The location and helpful staff
upstairs terrace view saves this place.
worst breakfast in Italy....weak wifi.....old furniture....so-so staff...last painted by giotto....
Old, not clean, smells really bad in a single room.
Room. 308 Toilet needs repair and housekeeping must notice it running every day and not report it to maintenance! Shower curtain way too long and causes a slip hazard . Nowhere to put soap shampoo in shower. Reception staff helpful and easant. Breakfast of dry/stale rolls could be improved . Location fantastic. Room good .
location and terrace were excellent
The breakfast was in a very good condition
The care taking of customer from the staff was excellent, and with a smile you can manage a lot. The family Medici was great , so was it at the top of the hotel Medici with a fantastic view over the city of Florence .
I have too leave too early do to a wedding in Vignamaggio !
good location, and clean, and kind.
airconditioner works not very well...!
Location, location, location! Everything within easy walking distance. View from the roof terrace was brilliant. Overall, apart from the noise, it was convenient and provided good value for money.
The noise was appalling! As there was no air-conditioning (the fan was totally inadequate) it was a choice of catching what breeze there was through the open window and not being able to sleep due to the noise. Or minimising the noise by shutting the window and not getting much sleep because of the heat!
The view from the terrace was FANTASTIC! The hotel is only one or two streets away from the Duomo, so when you look out from the terrace it's right there! The room was clean, if a little cramped, and the bed comfortable. I was surprised to be given a double bed since I'd booked a single room, and actually having only a single bed would have allowed more room to move around. The bathroom was clean and functional, though a slightly longer shower curtain might have prevented the water going all over the floor when the shower was used. Not a big deal, though, if I was a little bit careful I could prevent too much water escaping. There is a designated wifi floor (the 1st above street level), where the wifi always worked. The staff were nice.
The breakfast was bread and jam/butter, without even cornflakes on offer. There was also a coffee machine and juice from concentrate, neither of which appealed to me much. The staff serving breakfast was very nice though.
Great location. Fantastic view from the terrace.
Very unfriendly staff (room service, reception). The wifi works only on the first floor. Briekfast could be better. with the same amount of money you can find something really better. The shower was awful. Its hard to take a shower.
Well located hotel. Great view from the terrace on the top floor.
We got a room in the second building, which is about 150 meters from the hotel.
The location is just great! Step away from the best "must-see" points of Florence. Beautiful terrace with breathtaking view of Duomo.
Internet works only on the 1st floor. Poor breakfast. Staff is always not nice with the guests (in italian there is a good word to describe "sono sempre incazzati"). Once, when I was calling from the reception to my business partner and was currently talking with him, 2 guys from the staff were badly swearing to each other (got no idea what happened). Well, I was totally embarassed in front of my partner on the line who perfectly could hear everything. There could be at least a bit of respect to the guest staying in front of the reception. All the rest is ok.
