This charming, family-run hotel, which dates back to 1800, has been offering warm hospitality in the heart of the historic center of Florence for 40 years.

Dirty in the common areas Noisy, even at night
Central location right between Cathedral and Piazza della Signoria. Easy walk to all main sights and great choice of bars, restaurants etc. Excellent value and the negative points are acceptable for such a cheap 2 star hotel.
Very tired décor and tatty bathroom which flooded every time I showered. No a/c so had to sleep with open windows and terrible noise from bin lorries and deliveries to hotel opposite from very early (04:00). Awful breakfast: poor machine coffee and watery juice plus two chewy rolls and jam. May have been "free", but that was it; better to go outside and pay for decent coffee!
The location and helpful staff
Old, not clean, smells really bad in a single room.
Room. 308 Toilet needs repair and housekeeping must notice it running every day and not report it to maintenance! Shower curtain way too long and causes a slip hazard . Nowhere to put soap shampoo in shower. Reception staff helpful and easant. Breakfast of dry/stale rolls could be improved . Location fantastic. Room good .
location and terrace were excellent
The breakfast was in a very good condition
The care taking of customer from the staff was excellent, and with a smile you can manage a lot. The family Medici was great , so was it at the top of the hotel Medici with a fantastic view over the city of Florence .
I have too leave too early do to a wedding in Vignamaggio !
good location, and clean, and kind.
airconditioner works not very well...!
Location, location, location! Everything within easy walking distance. View from the roof terrace was brilliant. Overall, apart from the noise, it was convenient and provided good value for money.
The noise was appalling! As there was no air-conditioning (the fan was totally inadequate) it was a choice of catching what breeze there was through the open window and not being able to sleep due to the noise. Or minimising the noise by shutting the window and not getting much sleep because of the heat!
The view from the terrace was FANTASTIC! The hotel is only one or two streets away from the Duomo, so when you look out from the terrace it's right there! The room was clean, if a little cramped, and the bed comfortable. I was surprised to be given a double bed since I'd booked a single room, and actually having only a single bed would have allowed more room to move around. The bathroom was clean and functional, though a slightly longer shower curtain might have prevented the water going all over the floor when the shower was used. Not a big deal, though, if I was a little bit careful I could prevent too much water escaping. There is a designated wifi floor (the 1st above street level), where the wifi always worked. The staff were nice.
The breakfast was bread and jam/butter, without even cornflakes on offer. There was also a coffee machine and juice from concentrate, neither of which appealed to me much. The staff serving breakfast was very nice though.
Great location. Fantastic view from the terrace.
Very unfriendly staff (room service, reception). The wifi works only on the first floor. Briekfast could be better. with the same amount of money you can find something really better. The shower was awful. Its hard to take a shower.
Well located hotel. Great view from the terrace on the top floor.
We got a room in the second building, which is about 150 meters from the hotel.
The location is just great! Step away from the best "must-see" points of Florence. Beautiful terrace with breathtaking view of Duomo.
Internet works only on the 1st floor. Poor breakfast. Staff is always not nice with the guests (in italian there is a good word to describe "sono sempre incazzati"). Once, when I was calling from the reception to my business partner and was currently talking with him, 2 guys from the staff were badly swearing to each other (got no idea what happened). Well, I was totally embarassed in front of my partner on the line who perfectly could hear everything. There could be at least a bit of respect to the guest staying in front of the reception. All the rest is ok.
Roof top and views
Location and views from the terrace.
Very noisy! Right next to loading dock- no sleep after 4am. Flooded bathroom every time you shower. Staff weren't very friendly
Location was great!
Really noisy as it is in the heart of the city.
The view from the 6th floor terrace cannot be beat! We enjoyed drinks on the terrace both evenings.
No cold water, it was lukewarm...the elevator took forever, but overall great value for the money in a city as popular as Florence.
I used Hotel Medici twice and will never go back ever again. Both times I had a terrible experience. Once I was in a room in the Hotel itself and the second time in an apartment they gave me ten minutes away from the Hotel. Disgustingly dirty. Staff not friendly and arrogant both times. Breakfast is a basket of stale bread. The only positivi thing is the location but again, that area has plenty of other Hotels, equally well located, better priced at times too but definitely clean and nice. Do not book it.
Location is excellent
Room was dirty and all furnitures in room was broken or dirty
The location is fantastic - right next to Duomo santa maria di fiore
That i booked hotel medici but was placed in a sister hotel - hotel Constatini. The breakfast was terrible
Great view from the terrace, bring your own bottle and enjoy the view, especially at sunset. Right in the centre of Firenze.
People use the terrace to go smoking. Cigarette buds and empty cans on the floor. Put up a sign to ask guests to take back their trash?
The staff and the location are very good
The noise (the isolation is poor).
EVERYTHING! The staff, location and roof terrace!! The fact that there was no air conditioning and Internet access was acceptable because in my opinion if you need these "essentials" you have missed the point of visiting the "The Capital of the Renaissance"!! BOOK the Hotel and find an Internet Point with air conditioning !! At €1 an hour with this Hotel you can certainly afford it.
The fact they were fully booked and I was unable to extend my stay!! This comment is tongue in cheek !! If you do not understand it, Google it ! Staff very helpful and found me alternative accommodation, it was a real pleasure. THANK YOU X
