great breakfast, excellent location, clean, friendly
The location is fantastic; we arrived at night by Alilaguna ferry getting dropped off near the hospital. We walked for around 15mins in the dark - which was a bit daunting at first - along all the tight streets following the map on my phone. We were shortly greeted by a narrow street lit up with fantastic Christmas lights, which led straight to the hotel. The hotel is a short walk from all major sightseeing attractions which is great and the staff were really friendly.
I can't think of much, but if I'm being very picky, the mattress wasn't as comfy as I'd hoped after being on my feet all day. Other than that I can't really complain!
View of canal and gondolas going by Helpful front desk
Beds not that comfortable
it is difficult to find a modern hotel in Venice, as all the buildings are pretty old. This hotel is the same, but they have managed to arrange it nicely, so it is very cozy and clean. The staff is very nice and very helpful, breakfast is good and the location is great (very close to beautiful Piazza San Marco). I can totally recommend this hotel!
good break fast
The hotel is in a great location, close to everything. Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast. The room was small but perfect for the two of us.
It was very good place to stay close to everything
It was a really nice and cozy hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was nicely equipped. The breakfast was good. We had no problems at all, we would stay there again. Yes there are steps, but the staff helped us with the luggage, so it was no problem. There are steps everywhere in Venice, so you have to get used to it.
Great central location with easy access from 3 of the water bus stops. Helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
Nil, can't fault it. Would definitely stay again.
Very good location, hotel very clean and cute.Staff helpful. I am happy.
It's very near to St. Mark's square, room is clean and spacious, wifi is great too. Breakfast was good and served until 10.30 which is a good option.
The bathroom had a certain smell, although it was perfectly clean, it must have been due to the canal, it's quite common in Venice.
good location, helpful staff, the hotel was not a luxury but good enough accommodation for an ordinary travel
room was smaller than it was supposed to be (said 25 m2, was about 12-15 m2), quite packed for 3 people
The hotel has a great location and easy walk to all the sites of Venice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had the family room on the top floor which had plenty of space for our two kids. In addition it had a small balcony with fantastic views of the canal below. My children loved to watch the gondolas pass by throughout the day. I hope we can return one day to Venice and we would definitely sat in this hotel again.
A few flights of stairs to carry luggage up, no elevator
The staff was helpful and friendly. The room with the view was definitely worth the splurge.
I guess, unavoidable in Venice, but lots of stairs, even to the lobby.
Great location close to main attractions,my room was basic but clean & comfortable.Staff were very friendly and only to happy to help with local knowledge, I must say thank you to Christopher sharing his great local knowledge & providing with great information to enable me to get off the tourist trail & seeing Venice for its true character & charm.
The location is perfect, right in the city center, near all the main touristic points. The room is small, but quite comfortable and clean.
- Breakfast - Location - Family room
- Light smell in bathroom, but I suppose it's a characteristic of Venice
Hotel location great to get around to the main attractions of the city and many water taxi stops. The staff were friendly/helpful. Being from the US, we understand many European hotel rooms to be smaller and older. However, we still appreciate a clean, safe, comfortable place to stay - Hotel Mercurio did just that. We would stay here again.
The hotel does not have an elevator, but we knew that and it wasn't a problem for our family. Also, the breakfast was simple, but for small children who are picky eaters, it worked out just fine for us.
The staff was very open, friendly and actively helpful. The location is convenient and the romance of the experience is undeniable. Hotel provided free porter to carry our heavy luggage to St. Marks square when the streets were all flooded and we needed to catch a ferry to the mainland. Breakfast was good and plentiful with a helpful attendant.
Venice is sinking, high-tide means walking through ankle-deep water even in the middle of the streets far from the canals.
Good location, nice staff.
Don't fall for the online photos of the rooms, the superior rooms are tiny not the ones advertised on the photos.
Our view over the canal and being entertained by song and music drifting past on Gondolas!
Very helpful staff, excellent breakfast.
The place was what you expect of a three stars in Italy and is really good value for your money in consideration for the great location and the fact that Venice is very expensive. The hotel was clean. The staff was very helpful and insisted on giving us aid. The wireless was very good. The room size was good (other reviews thought it was small).
The hotel needs renovation. The breakfast did not have any vegetables. There was no free map given to us in check in (every other hotel we stayed in in Italy provided a complementary one). Lastly, I feel the room lacked air circulation and I was a bit sick so suffered from uncomfortabilty when attempting to sleep.
