Opened in 1308, the Albergo Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. It is set right behind St. Mark's Square, and features elegant rooms and a private pier.
Score from 1728 reviews Very good
Antico Panada dates back to 1889. It is in 2 historic buildings, 100 ft from Saint Mark's Square. The air-conditioned rooms feature refined furniture, and Murano lamps.
Score from 2983 reviews Good
Just a 5-minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, Centauro Hotel is in a 16th century building, 1500 ft from St. Mark's Square. All elegant rooms have satellite TV and a private bathroom.
Score from 836 reviews Very good
Only 1000 ft from the famous St Mark’s Square in Venice, 3-star Hotel Anastasia features nicely furnished rooms with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. La Fenice Theatre is a 5 minute walk away.
Score from 763 reviews Very good
Hard to find initially No WiFi in the room Staff carried our bags to the room from reception but from street to reception is a flight of steps
Breakfast was great Room very clean
2 minutes from piazza San marco. I had a single room at the 3 floor. It was good size, quite and extremely clean. Nice breakfast with plenty of choice.
No elevator but this is Venice.
1-Staff. 2-Canal view. 3-Location.
Poor breakfast choices uncomfortable bed
good room sizes nice location
Had to carry luggage up 3 flight of stairs. Breakfast could have more choice of cereals and fruits. May be something like boiled eggs.
Location is great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The friendly staff, great location and very good breakfast!
Very small, very small shower, double bed made out of two single mattresses
no lift...but knew that going in. Once you get the luggage situated....all things were great
character, staff that went out of their way to help and nice view of the canal for a reasonable cost.
* Single bed appeared to be pretty narrow *The room itself is not spacious, but I guess that's normal for Venice * My biggest concern is that loud neighbors could be heard rather clearly, as well as neigbours from level above on heels :) That would prevent me from recommending this hotel for an extended stay, though otherwise I think it's very decent for the price (I paid EUR 90/night)
* Location is great - very close to San Marco's and vaporetto and Alilaguna stops, fairly close to Accademia and to Rialto too * Good quality Wi-Fi * Helpful members of staff * Decent, though continental-like only, breakfast
Room is small. bath room is bad, Water is everywhere after shower.
Location is ok.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location. Lovely and clean. Great breakfast. very Happy.
Some smell in the toilet
Friendly staff, nice room but there was some smell in the toilet, good location ( 10 mins from San Marco).
We paid for comfort double but the room was still very small and the air conditioning blew out hot air. Breakfast was limited and it mentions a restaurant and room service available but no sign of any evening meals or menus. No welcome pack with any information at all. This hotel is more of a guest house, comfortable but very basic.
The hotel is in a great location, really close to all the main sights and nice restaurants. The staff are friendly but quite quiet and helpful.
Room facing on to the street a tad noisy.
Convenient location, friendly staff and good value for money.
- hotel needs more maintenance - expansive room - narrow breakfast room with poor service; like most of the hotels they should provide more healhy food for people with some health conditions
- good location; close to st marc's - guy at the reception was amazing and so helpful; helped us with luggage as there s no elevator, gave us full info about the city and gave us the map with explanations ( he was better than in tourist office)
This might be 3 star in Venice, but anywhere else it would struggle to get 2! If you have 3 star expectations, you'll need to pay more in Venice.
Right in heart of San Marco, quick walk to Rialto or San Marco water bus. Great breakfast, and helpful staff.
Overpriced for a triple room No kettle in the room, didnt get one when we asked for it either Terrible wifi that doesnt even load a homepage Staff werent particularly helpful Breakfast below average, hardly any vegetarian option
I think the location is the only good thing about this place
Breads and Croissants at breakfast are tasteless and same flavor, actually no flavor - the only disappointment.
Good geographical location, staff is friendly and helpful, no complaints
Too many stairs, no elevator
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The location was excellent. Right on top of all the sites.
The shower area is only enough for standing width and not enough to bend and pick up the soup if drop. Mattress is old and sagging. Wifi is not reliable, need to login everytime.
Near to Rialto and St. Mark square. Staff is friendly and accommodating .
Room is like a small cell in prison. No complementary water. Can't fine tuning air con/ heating. Breakfast very cheap. I will never never go there again. no photo of the cell room in booking.com .so...
it's near San Marco and La Fenice
breakfast with eggs would have been great but compared to other hotels this was bliss
helpful staff, good free breakfast, clean right at top of San Marco - purrfect !
very helpful and friendly staff and great location
