Surrounded by its peaceful green garden in Siena, Hotel Garden is a 15-minute walk from Porta Camollia, the ancient city gate.
Score from 1159 reviews Very good
Had feeling of youth hostel with crowds of noisy students.
They seem tobe updating it roomby room. We had an older room, with a bit of a mildew problem. still, it was otherwise comfortable.
I was travelling with my mother, who became ill. The staff was lovely and accomodating. Great location, free parking really helped..
Poor Wi-Fi coverage
Next to city's escalators to reach easily the city center on feet. Perfect for travellers reaching the city by car
Of course the rooms are dated but commensurate with price.
Fair price. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Typical mid level hotel with favorable price-feature tradeoffs.
It really is in need of a little modernising. Though not too much, as there is an old world charm to the ancient interior.
Inconsistent wifi, some of the wait staff very stiff, reserved - came across as unfriendly, bored with the guests
Very centrally located, ease of getting around, coldness to train and airport inconsistent wifi,
Hotel needs some updating to properly reflect the status or grading. Great, helpful staff but the hotel does need some work. Good breakfast. Room was small - ask for room off the road - but adequate, clean enough and did the job.
Location, location, location!
Although not up top in the town is steps from the series of 5 escalators that take you up top. Natural light into room and bathroom . Windows open for fresh air. Large comfortable bath in large bathroom.
The room did get a little stuffy - unfortunately opening the window for air meant we got all the noise from the main street which went quite late into the night. The walls were a little thin from our room so we could hear a lot of loud talking at night and in the morning - was bearable from our room though since we were at the end of a long hallway on the second level. The website claims that the Wi-Fi "works in all areas" but it did not work in our room and have read a few other reviews claiming the same thing - not a big deal since we weren't there to sit on the internet anyway. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant on our first night and it wasn't very good - food was not cooked all the way through, suggest eating elsewhere.
We are a group of students so the hotel was fairly affordable for us and we enjoyed staying there. We stayed in room 30 and it was absolutely huge with a load of space and a nice ensuite. The beds were large and okay to sleep on - no complaints. The breakfast included was reasonable; it was mostly cakes and sandwiches. The location is FANTASTIC and right across from a set of escalators that take you to the main area of Siena. Staff were helpful and polite as well.
Staff didn't seem very interested to help. First morning at breakfast we were completely ignored. Then we realised they were intent on organising the breakfast room for a wedding so guests were a bit of a nuisance! Toaster was ridiculously slow. On our last morning the receptionist was very nice and helpful (the wedding was finished!).
Away from any noise
The sleeping/resting: very noisy and very poor bed
The location: very easy to get to Sienna downtown by foot
Tiny towels. Small rooms, Poor lighting.
Location, breakfast, nice courtyard, freindly staff, great valet parking
Needed redecorating and bringing up to date. Very little parking on opposite side of road.
The staff were very pleasant and very helpful
Proximity to center. Windows not very sound tight, but room was away from the street. All in all clean and quiet. Nice stuff.
Old furniture, no wifi reception in room even after we complained.
Location - very close to the escalators to the city. Parking and ataff arw good.
They didn't have an iron!
Friendly, helpful staff Rooms well cleaned daily No noise Just a short escalator up to the centre of Siena - 5/10 minutes walk
Could not pick up WiFi in my room.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic to be so close to the old town.
No Wi-Fi in my room but available outside it and in the lobby. Shower was full width of bathroom, about 1.5m but only about 0.45m front to back so too small. I couldn't find an English TV channel.
Good position for escalator to City Handy parking. reasonable breakfast.
The staff, the location and the atmosphere are excellent. I have been before and will come again!! The escalator which takes you directly into Siena is very conveniently located across the road. The view of the Tuscan landscape from our window was breathtaking and the gardens is a great asset to enjoy in good weather.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, hotel ideally situated. Great free parking available
I can't think of anything to say here
Very friendly staff who spoke a bit of English The breakfast was very good Having a car park near the hotel
- walls were paper thin - twin beds were two different sizes - rooms were dark - wi-fi was very slow
- Excellent location if you have a car - free parking
Hotel dirty, dark, directly on main road. Breakfast worst quality ever. Time to pull the hotel down!
The Hotel is very old and is needed renovation
Moira is very nice and helpfull woman with her smile
It was very close, and we could live the car for some time after leaving the hotel
