We did not like anything about hotel Nella. It was dirty and tacky. The owners do not take pride in their hotel or property. Our stay was awful. The septic backed up and the stench was in our room. They had dirty plastic flowers for decoration in the hotel and any flowers around the property were dead. In the evening we needed assistance and the person available did not speak one word of English! I would never recommend this hotel. Did not like anything!!!

Great location near the station, very helpful staff and the best breakfast we have had in Italy. We also liked how they emailed us before we left Australia and ask what drinks we wanted in our mini bar,a great touch. The only thing I would like to see improve is that the drinks in the fridge were warm they needto make the fridge colder. We would stay there again in a heartbeat

Nice hotel up in the hills above the city. We arrived late morning in a hurry to get to the ferrys to go to Cinque Terre. The staff was very helpful with directions, maps and schedules to the ferry and even a map for free parking in La Spezia by the ferrys. They stored our luggage as our room was not yet ready. Nice quiet country hotel with a nice restaurant and outdoor patio areas.

It was a good stopping point near Cinque Terre before getting a place down there. It offered a decent breakfast and wifi, though not a very strong signal. They had a fenced storage area for our car. The room (double) we had was quite small and we noticed the others were similar. Some upgraded rooms may have been larger. To me, it was not a "destination" location, but a reasonable priced nights stay near Cinque Terre.

It was ok for our purpose as a base from which to explore the Cinque Terre. A little awkward to get luggage to room. Units at headboard made it difficult to sit in bed and read.

This hotel is very remotely located high up a twisting mountain road. Surroundings are pleasant. Do not rely on your gps to find this place before you get to La Spezia. The shower head was broken and unusable.

Very kind staff - especially when late checking in - no problem: if you need a snack ask for some ham and cheese and you'll be served. If you'd like to have some wine - ask for a glass or a bottle in the near restaurant (or if it's not too late - just at the hotel restaurant). For romantic natures - it is the best place we've ever been to!!!!!!)) Magnifying smell of pines, basilic and other spices!! Freshnes of sea and deep sign of pine tree forest!!!! Exeptional stay for romantic couples!!! La Specia speaks for itself!!! Perfecto!!!!

Good location, out of La Spezia so peaceful, but local restaurants nearby and close enough to get to La Spezia within 15-20 minutes in the car. Clean hotel, helpful staff.

Clean and friendly with an excellent cuisine and excellent service despite only one serving staff for dinner. Many of the residents had dinner at the Nella. Air Conditioning worked very well and was very welcome as the weather was very warm at 34 deg. The room was quite small, but for one night stopover was OK. Bathroom again was small but clean, functional and a good shower.

It's a lovely quiet place. You won't expect to have luxury rooms there, but you can have a comfortable stay. The guy in the reception is really nice and helpful. The room is not very big, but comfortable and convenience. Breakfast is great, and I love their coffee. Maybe the only problem is the safe box in my room, it's an old one and no body knows how to make it work :) If there is something I do not like, it must be the location and public transportation system. Buses in Italy can hardly appear at the right time, and the bus system in La Spezia is very confusing...But it is not Nella's fault. It may be easier for travellers to find the hotel if there is some land marks or signs on Via Genova.

The staff is really nice and helpful. They were actually the only people in the hole town to whom I could speak in english. They were always willing to help, even tough I arrived later than expected. It's a bit far away from the city. Although it's not a problem if you're a plannig to go by car or rent one or even if you have the bus schedule before you go there.

The family/owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The accommodations are clean and modern. Nella is located in a quiet area with ample free parking. Every meal in the restaurant was excellent. We were impressed on our first night and decided to return for our other two nights and still wanted to try other items. There was also a good variety of breakfast food. We had some difficulty finding Nell becaue there had been a road washout which caused our gps to lead us to a closed road. It is important to know that Nella is located on the old Road from La Spezia to Genova. The best route passes under the railway track near the La Spezia station and eventually goes through a 2.4 km tunnel.
