Lovely, friendly staff and despite practising key Italian phrases parrot fashion, we need not have worried as they all spoke enough English for us not to worry at all. The free car park on site was a God send as it is a very busy place and the short drive across the draw bridge through the pedestrianised streets was no problem for patient drivers despite warnings from other travellers- just check in with the police at the draw bridge, follow the one way signs and bide by the two/three sets of simple traffic lights (don't forget to turn your engine off when on red so you don't choke the pedestrians). The views from the bedrooms are fabulous, the swimming pool and facilties great for relaxing and the hotel itself in a quiet spot a very short stroll away from the busy shops and restaurants with no through traffic. Room service was very excellent. Our rooms were spacious and spotless; bed was very comfprtable. By the way, we had a free upgrade on arrival to their best suites. They spoilt us! Whilst we loved the hotel and would be happy to stay again, it is up a very short incline with steps up to the reception so perhaps those who have mobility problems might prefer a hotel that is not. I must admit, I did not check whether it had a ramp or not.

The staff at Hotel Olivi were exceptional. The complimentary tea and biscuits served at 5pm was a wonderful treat when sunbathing by the pool. Staff would come round at night and offer complimentary sweets as a little 'good night' with regards, which was also a great touch. The breakfast buffet had a vast array of choice, even including a large selection of products for those with a wheat and gluten intolerance. Perfect location, the Roman ruins was only a 5 minute walk away, with the thermal baths and spa a stones throw from the hotel.

Hotel Olivi was wonderful. Perfect walking distance from the old district of Sirmione, while being quiet and having the resort amenities of a swimming pool and lovely garden. The staff was very accommodating and personable. They gave us excellent restaurant recommendations in addition to having a very good restaurant of there own. We would definitely return if we were going back to the area. There was nothing not to like about the Hotel Olivi. However, drivers should be aware that though the Hotel has plenty of free parking, getting to the Hotel, requires the permission of the police to get through the restricted driving area of the town. The Hotel will Have given your name to the police at the castle gate area, and you show your reservations to them and they let you through, once through you have to make your way through many pedestrans. If you were planning to go In and out of town often, it might be best to pick a place outside of the restricted driving area.

Extremely heplful and welcoming staff. Excellent food. Realised that we were newlyweds and left us a free bottle of Prosseco in our room. Only critiscism was around the coffee making facilities in our room - not easily accessible for someone who does not like wobbly stairs and no milk available (not even long life). However, a small point and doesn't affect our wonderful memories of the hotel. My only other little comment is not so much to do with the hotel but also to do with info from Booking .com. It would have been useful to know in advance from one or other party about the limited access times to drive to the hotel in the old town - we drove directly from Lake Como owing to torrential rain and arrived 2 minutes before the town was closed to cars for 3 or 4 hours. Would not have been happy if I had arrived 5 mins later.

Good quiet place, near the lake and local sightseeing, enough parking slots, well organizes system of passing to the hotel located at the peninsula with limited acess for cars (the names of the guests are given to the police in advance). Good local and gourmet restaurants in walking distance. Driving to/from the hotel in the downtown is very difficult due to crowds of tourists (it takes half an hour at least to pass it)

Everything about Hotel Olivi was perfect; location is magical, the double room was ideal restarant and staff 5 star. Would recommend it to all. Only one issue: we had a separate single room for our son and it was a bit like a rabbit warren. Very small.

Overall quite a nice hotel. Breakfast quite good. Good location for the lake and the 'old town' of Simione. Pool area lovely. Parking OK (once you get thru). Reduced price for out-of-season was OK...not sure I'd like to have paid the 'full' price though. Access to the hotel is tortuous through the mini streets of Simione. Hotel should warn about that...especially as access thru the town is prohibited during the day at weekends. Could be a nightmare then to get bags thru to the hotel....you may have to wait till 7 pm to get clearance but outside parking is not easy either. Rooms nicely finished but somewhat spartan.

The hotel was set in well laid out gardens with views over lake Garda. The restaurant and communial areas are comfortable and clean. The staff were helpful. Our roonm did not have a lake view but it was large and comfortable. The breakfasts were adequate and you can sit on the veranda while eating it this was nice. The lift was inadequate as we were on the 3rd floor, this meant that we had to walk up 66 stairs regularly, this could be a problem for someone who is not fit.

We loved our stay at Hotel Olivi. The staff were remarkably helpful and kind. The pool was so relaxing and having a little poolside restaurant added to the ease of our stay. We were delighted that at 5pm they rang a bell and had a little "tea time" in that little area, with complementary tea, coffee and cookies. The food at the other outdoor terrace restaurant was superb, with a huge selection of vegetables and salads. This selection of prepared vegetables and/or fresh salad items was to accompany every meal and it was a superb example of "mediterranean diet", the healthiest diet on the planet! And the view, at the end of the tiny peninsula of Sirmione on Lake Garda is not to be missed! Let's not forget the archeological site of a huge Roman villa about 5 minutes walking! But mostly, it was the staff who made it so special in the end. We hope to go back there next year if at all possible, although it is not exactly around the corner from us, unfortunately as we live in California. Go if you can! We loved the whole thing.

Locatin as it was close to all the town attractions and restaurants. We used it as a base and toured round the lake and the surrounding cities during the day. I was dissapointed even when I knew that Hotel accepted pets, but did not expect to see the resident german shepard dog bellonging to the owners roaming in the restaurant and the pool area at all hours this put me off.

The pool-area is great, you get a fresh towel every day. The breakfast is really very good and varied, we ate outside every morning. Everything is in good shape, even a bit stylish. The room and the shower where very small. The hotel is expensive for what you get. But I'am afraid this is typical for all hotels in this region.
