The lumpy pillows
Best reception team during my stay in Italy.good breakfast, excellent accmodition experience. Good location, just take no.17 bus and tell the driver VALLI station at train station, then you could find this hotel.actually everything.one of the guy who will even drive us to San Giminano.thanks anyway although he was not available at the moment.
This hotel in a small, elegant palazzo is delightful. It is in a peaceful spot, overlooking the beautiful Tuscan countryside. It is close to town, with frequent bus services. We had a lovely room with beautiful views. The proprietors are extremely helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our time here.
The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and with a warm smile. The room was large and comfortable with a view out to the wonderful Tuscan countryside. While we were very happy to be away from the centre and there are buses and taxis readily available and cheap, the walk into and out of the centre is a fairly lengthy one if you are also walking extensively around the city.
Nothing really but watch out for the very narrow gateway into the property if arriving by car!
From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble . Jacko greeted us like old friends. Our room was charming overlooking the Tuscan hills and breakfast on the terrace each morning was to die for
This property lived up to its ratings. Giacomo and Lorenzo were so very helpful and the setting is just gorgeous. Easy walk or bus into city center and evening wine reception gave chance to meet other guests. Good noise isolation between rooms and comfortable reception area and outdoor seating options to relax.
Wi-fi is a bit slow but it is a network limitation, not an internal wireless one. But, it worked. There was nothing else to even note as a negative. This is a great choice for Siena!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Very secure parking
Breakfast a bit basic for the quality of the hotel.
This was a lovely family hotel. The staff were warm and friendly. The room had a gorgeous view and was quiet large. It was a short walk to the town of Siena, perfect location. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it. A real taste of Tuscany!
We arrived in the afternoon to a lovely small hotel with a fabulous piazza looking over the countryside...it was like being in a painting. The Manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. We loved staying here and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Location - easy walking distance to Sienna. Breakfast was one of the best among our two week stay throughout Italy. Especially, enjoying it outside on the beautiful Veranda.
Our room was small, but they do have larger rooms. Depending on budget and availability book larger room.
Very Friendly - nothing too much trouble Comfortable rooms Lovely period building in garden setting Wine on the terrace overlooking Siena and the countryside
Gate entrance for cars very narrow but fine if go through slowly
Unique beautiful place, be abel to view the valley and Siena downtown. So romantic and confortable house, quite delicious breakfast. Very friendly host...
We had been to Siena two years ago and stayed at Hotel Palazzo di Valli after reading reviews. Have you ever returned to an experience again because you loved it so much and it was nothing like the first time? Well, this did not happen with Hotel Palazzo di Valli...it lived up to our expectations and more! Our hosts, Lorenzo and Giacomo, warmly greeted us every morning and night making our stay so pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are clean and decorated with a Tuscan flair. The view from the hotel is breath-taking and we ate our breakfast outside as we marveled in the beauty of the countryside. The location is perfect for a stroll to the city-center. We had rented a car to take little side trips throughout Tuscany using Siena as our base. Hotel Palazzo di Valli has plenty of parking unlike other hotels in Siena, so it made our Tuscan jaunts easier. If we ever get the chance to come to Siena again, there will be no doubt where we will hang our hats...in OUR Tuscan Villa...Hotel Palazzo di Valli!
The breakfast spread was delightful and the croissants were delicious. There is the option to ask for eggs, but each time I ask for some, whether scrambled or hard boiled, I was told it would be ten minutes because other guest had put in their order before mine. When the eggs were being made others had to wait to get their coffee, cappuccino, or espressos. Why not put eggs out on the breakfast buffet, so guest could help themselves?

We loved our stay at the Hotel Palazzo de Valli. It was the first stop on our honeymoon and was the perfect introduction to Tuscany. The hotel is a nice 10 minute walk from the Siena city gates (and about 20 minutes from the center). With all the delicious food, we were grateful for the walk! The owner and his staff are absolutely lovely. He had wonderful suggestions of restaurants...and a cooking class at a local farm that was one of the absolute highlights of our trip (Fattoria Le Pietre Vive di Montaperti). Views from the hotel are fantastic. The room was comfortable, with historic details like the original frescos on the ceiling. We would definitely stay here again.
Friendly and helpful staff who made us feel welcome. We arrived early and were checked in immediately plus on the day of checkout we had no problem leaving our bags for a few hours. Beautiful location just outside city walls overlooking Tuscan hills. Room was spacious and clean. We loved spending time seated outside during breakfast and when enjoying some evening wine
It will take 20 minutes to walk into the centre of Siena but if you don't feel like walking the hotel gives lots of information about buses and taxis in the area.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Villa was in a great location with fantastic views of the hills, close to town. Breakfast was delicious
There was nothing I didn't like.
I loved everything. Staff was wonderful and location superb. Even better than I had hoped. Restaurant across the street was outstanding.
If weather cooperates, you can eat your breakfast outside, nice way to start the day. We also enjoyed our evening drinks under the stars. Easy, quick bus ride into Siena. Nice to return to hotel to get away from hustle and bustle. Very good restaurant within walking distance.
Wifi was spotty.
Great Tuscany views. Great value and can highly recommend.
Great Tuscan views. Serenity. Obliging hosts. Great service. Good social vibe during terrace "happy hour".
Not being able to stay longer.
Loved our room! The views over the olive tree groves, the walled city and to the town of Sienna just stunning! The room was large and comfortable. This was a mansion converted to a hotel with only 13 rooms. You felt like it was your own home. The terrace was huge and you could relax with breakfast or with your wine and appies in the afternoon or evening. Wonder through the olive trees and lemon trees. Yummy pear trees, grape vines, roses and florals. We lived and felt like queen bees! The staff, Eugene, Sofiane, were both so wonderful to my friend Joanne and myself, very helpful and personable. Sofiane took us out for an afternoon of sightseeing we loved and appreciated his company. Eugene made us laugh and happy as he fed us in the morning and attened to us in afternoons and evenings with wine, cold beers and appie plates which were delicious. They both made our week so much fun. We loved them both. The Managers, Lorenzo and Jackamo made sure we had everything we needed everyday. They also we so very pleasant and personable making sure we got to where we wanted to go sightseeing. We got around with ease and confidence and they always gave us good direction and advice. The woman who kept our room in great order and shape was so very efficient we only caught glimpses of her as she worked. We never got to meet her but so very appreciated her. We ended up going to a great restaurant 4 times just outside of the gates to the hotel. The owner Stefano was so good to us! You must go. It was Lorenzo's recommendation and we were very happy we went! Needless to say Cher and Joanne would go back to Hotel Palazzo di Valli if ever we get another chance to visit. We felt so welcomed and now consider them all as our friends from Siena. Cher Ricci & Joanne Griffin Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Everything! Staff was lovely, and helpful with directions and suggestions.
Pillows were hard and wifi connection bad.
My wife and I (we are in our 60s, but very active and experienced travelers) stayed at the Hotel Palazzo di Villi in Siena for 2 nights in early September 2014 – our 3rd stop on our 2-week Italy vacation. We were initially attracted to this property because of (1) its very central location; (2) ratings on various sites that emphasized the convenient location, the quiet neighborhood especially at night, and the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms; and (3) free parking. Our experience exceeded expectations in all respects! Our room was very nice, the beds were fine, everything spotless clean, and the bathroom was very modern. Breakfast was excellent – traditional European fare, except no eggs. In the evening, we would sit outside on the patio and have wine (€3,50 per glass) and take in the beautiful countryside and listen to the church bells. The staff were all extremely nice and helpful. One can walk into old Siena from the hotel; however, we chose to take Bus 51 that runs every 15 minutes, picks up just outside the gate of the driveway up to the hotel, costs only €1,00 per person per ride, and deposits you right in the heart of Siena. There is only one restaurant within reasonable walking distance of the hotel – Trattoria Fori Porta. It’s right outside the gate – a 3 minute walk from the hotel. However, it was outstanding and reasonable priced, so there is no reason to go anywhere else (we ate there both nights). And, if you are tired of the usual pizza and pasta fare – we were – the chicken, duck, veal and other menu items (don’t miss the eggplant casserole) are not to be missed.
