Hotel Porta Palio  

Hotel staff was very courteous and gave us some very helpful tips in getting around the city of Verona and Lake Garda. Breakfast and the breakfast room setting were very nice. My wife and I actually were there to attend an opera in the Verona Arena and the shuttle service worked great after a day of walking the city. We had lunch at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant decoration theme was very interesting and the food was good. The room was very clean. Easy to find and easy access from the street. The underground garage was a definite plus for a safe parking.

Our overall experience was very good. The room had a few minor setup oversights to include not having a "do not disturb" sign for the door and the TV remote control was broke. There are no peep holes on the room doors so you can not see who is on the other side before opening the door. Our room only had a relatively small shower and could be a challenge for full figure person to use (just a consideration for some).

The location isn't exactly in the center of Verona, but it is within a walking distance. 15 minutes walking and you're there.The breakfast was also somehow limited and with not much quality.

Very helpful staff. The breakfast was great, with quality ingredients. Free WiFi in all the hotel areas. Nice restaurant on the ground floor. Location is OK, if you don't mind a 20 min walk to the city center, which is no problem at all! And the value for money great! If i happen in Verona again, would gladly go back to this hotel.

We liked this hotel . breakfast, it was excellent the beast breakfast off all 6 hotels that we was staing in italy! The bathroom and the room was nice . hotel staff was good as well!

Well the location is not very good and the price was very high becouse thear was some horse exibition ...

Convenient location with parking to walk to the sights. Good breakfasgt with reasonable price.

Bathroom light turns off after a certain minutes. Water stream (open suage?) back of the hotel is smelly.

The location was great, breakfast was great, lots of variety.

The receptionist was horrible the 3 times we had to deal her, I am sure she has not heard of customer service. The parking included is on the street, if you are really lucky out the front but their is not much chance of that, if you want to use their parking it is an additional cost. The room was ridiculously small and you can hear everything that happens in every room on the floor.

We stayed only 2 nights. It is about 15 mins walk from train station on main road. It takes about 20 minutes (deceptively slightly uphill) to get to Arena. We walked to Teatro Roman on our first day, leaving hotel at 8.45am, having visited all the sights we wanted (which was a lot), we got back to hotel at 5.30pm. If you want sights on your doorstep this is not your hotel. If you are happy to walk, look at the other side to an Italian city then this is fine. It was cheap, rooms comfortable and clean, breakfast was excellent - one of the best plus a kettle in reception for free tea and coffee! The air conditioning could have been better but it worked!. I would suggest you get an even numbered room as these look over the back rather than the main road which would be busy. Also if sightseeing, purchase the Verona card - it is worthwhile and saves you a lot of money.

Nice Staff Relatively good localization (15 min from centro storico), however in order to reach the center on foot you must walk thru noisy streets Free parking on site, we always had a parking spot Pizzeria

Claustrophobically small room, dark, sad decoration of the room Poor breakfast, worst coffee in Italy I recommend it only for short stays (max 2 days) and only for them who don’t expect any comfort more than bed and basic bathroom tv only in Italian

Nice staff, clean room, good breakfast. Paid, but stable wi-fi in the room. Strongly recommend for visit to Verona city trip.

The hotel is situated outside historical center, but not far. It takes 20 min aprox. To go on foot. Is it advantage or disadvantage - depends on personal opinion. For us, it wasn't problem. There is free parking near hotel, it's small enough. If you can't stay there (we were able) - it's possible to use paid hotel underground parking.
