Hotel Balestri faces the Arno River in central Florence. Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery are a quarter mile away. It features a roof terrace with lovely city views.
Score from 30 reviews Excellent

Offering refined accommodations just 440 yards from Santa Maria Novella train station, the Grand Hotel Adriatico is in central Florence, a 10-minute walk from Florence’s Duomo.
Score from 1345 reviews Very good
Set on a side street just behind the cathedral, Hotel De Lanzi is near the shops and main monuments of the historic center of Florence. The simply furnished rooms have private bathrooms.
Score from 730 reviews Very good
A/C was off and it was hot in the room. Breakfast was poor and we were charged for drinking water.
Position of the hotel. Views of the Arno and Bridges. Easy access to the heart of Florence. Hotel room large and reflected the hotel's character. Good breakfast and free wine in the evening - nice touch!
Bathroom, although large needs updating. Chipped bath repaired with filler. Fixed shower head made it difficult for tall people!! Smell of smoke in reception
If you want to keep with you, even in the hotel, the atmosphere of Florence, that is the place. Well located by the Arno riverfront, it is a very charming place. I was quite a demanding guest and I can say that the staff was very helpful and kind. There is a small garden in the rear of the building thus, it is like as we are in a small villa. The breakfast is very nice and you can be surprised by fresh flowers everywhere.
May be it needs a small investment in accessibility.
Nice location on the river. The is very helpful and rooms are well maintained, comfortable and clean. A quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and a short walk to the city center.
strong smell of cigarette smoke in lobby and stairway.
the atmosphere, the happy hour, the breakfasts, our room with a lovely view overlooking the gardens, the staff--it was the perfect hotel in the perfect place
bathrooms could use some remodeling but ours was a great size
- beautiful traditional building - very helpful staff - view from the balcony on the river side - amazing restaurants just across the river
- only if the bathroom can be renovated... I'm small to med size body frame but the bathtub was way too narrow to take shower comfortably.
Having parking available right at the location. We found the room both comfortable and spacious. The breakfast filling and good!
That we had to leave. (On to our next stop).
Good position close to the river. Easy to access. Good breakfast.
Quiet room not available without extra charge. Traffic noise kept me awake. One staff member did not seem to care about my complaint. Shower was cold at night. Thankfully hot in the morning.
Free drink on arrival Location
Breakfast very light for a 4 star hotel No Tv signal in the room Very bad again for a 4 star hotel
Car parking even though it is hard to find- very nice secure parking. Also liked the desk staff, very helpful
no in-room tea/coffee making facilities- this was a big negative for meas I am a 3-cups-before-I get-going-in-the-morning person. Perhaps they have water problems? I can see no reason to not have it.
Everything rated excellent and I will definately stay there again if in Florence. The room was luxurious with ornate furnishings balcony Window and chandelier! The staff were very professional as well as helpful and kind. I was asked if I was happy with the room when the assistant tookl my bag's upstairs.
Nothing. This was favorite place to stay overnight.
Friendly helpful staff who took time to inform us about Florence, arranged for a Polizi clearance when we accidentally drove into a car free zone when trying to find the hotel; free carpark at back of hotel; lovely spacious rooms overlooking the river and bridges & pleasant vistas beyond; charming old-fashioned comfortable sitting areas; generous breakfast including cooked options included in accommodation price; large luxury bathroom; walking distance to all major attractions; lovely garden at back for alfresco dining or reading; a great choice for a comfortable family-friendly hotel in superb location, with a touch of old fashioned glamour and luxury.
I know it's Italy, and it's different now in Australia, but someone at reception was smoking in the afternoon, so the hotel entrance was pervaded by the smell of cigarette smoke from about 2pm (depending who was on reception). This permeated upstairs through the public areas. Again, the staff were so nice and friendly, it was not a personal complaint - just a comment. And it was not perpetual.
Lovely big room with high ceilings and antiques. Big marble bathroom.
A bit of a walk to the sights
Friendly staff Good location Comfy bed Great view from bedroom terrace
Breakfast was not great No tea and coffee in room Dining room although clean would really benefit from a makeover
Room with a balcony has excellent view for Anor river
Breakfast could be better.
I loved the view from my balcony, the decor, the front desk service and the ambience of the hotel.
The shower was a little too narrow.
Grand old hotel, a little warn, but all the better for it. Just a little away from the main city area, which is good. Away from the daytime crowds. However, was an easy walk to central city - 5 minutes. Many more "local" restaurants in the area. The staff were very friendly, very helpful. Spoke English well - very handy for us mono-linguistic travellers. Parking for a car- fantastic. Drinks and nibbles in the evening. There is a gym a couple of blocks away that gives a discount to guests of the hotel.
No tea or coffee making facility in the rooms
The hotel staff was helpful and warm. The rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable. The garden on the hotel is lovely and relaxing. The service was outstanding
The location was excellent not far from all the sights & good restaurants nearby !
Need to stay in rooms on the third floor for real peace and quiet WE had Room 20 - Lovely & views over the Arno!
Small boutique hotel with friendly and helpful staff.Rooms are comfortable, but bathroom definitely needs to be renovated, only overhead shower with bath .Rooms are spacious and clean with fridge .no tea and coffee facilities..Free snacks, red ,white sparkling wine in the afternoon are a nice touch.Free parking closed car space in the backyard invaluable in crowded Florence. The Hotel is close to all important sites 15-20 min.walk.Breakfast is quite nice ,you can have it in the small garden,if the weather permits.Ask for the room with balcony overlooking Arno river. It's nice to sit there in the evening with the glass of wine.
Bathroom definitely needs to be renovated, only overhead shower with bath tube.
Located in an exclusive area, two blocks away from Westin & St Regis. Walking distance to Uffizi Gallery and other main attractions in Florence. Room is big enough and has magnificent view. We were upgraded to family room facing the river which very pleasant. Internet café, groceries and restaurant is a walking distance. Beautiful Garden at the back near the car park.
No tea and coffee facilities in the room and slippers.
Parking is free. Very friendly staff. They didn't charge minibar consumption by courtesy. Loved the architecture. If you like old buildings than you should not mind the shortcomings that come with!
Everything! It's a lovely place, with great staff and a convenient location.
The hotel was very pretty and well situated . The staff were helpful and friendly .Small but comfortable . Traditional Italuan hotel with a good breakfast .
Unique styled bedroom with lots of character and a balcony. Lovely roof garden and also an actual garden to sit out in, with the complimentary prosecco available in the reception rooms downstairs each evening. Great location looking out on the river, less than 10minutes walk from the train station and likewise to the main sights.
