Bettoja Hotel Relais Certosa Firenze  

For people with a car, this is a great facility. We loved the hotel because it was beautiful and in a serene location. The surrounding is gorgeous! It was so relaxing to walk around in their sprawling garden area with fantastic views and awesome fresh air. If you are looking for peace and beauty, this place is for you. We took so many pictures in their garden! About the hotel itself, the accommodations were adequate and the staff were pleasant. The coffee in the breakfast area was not so great but when we bought one from the front office in the afternoon it was DELICIOUS...hmmmm (???). The location is not at all convenient if you plan on walking to Florence city so we drove there. However, luckily we decided to stop at a mission along the way and ended up walking to the Piazza Michelangelo. There was plenty of free street parking in front of the mission so we lucked out. Right next to the Piazza Michelangelo is a flight of stairs that will take you into the city. The experience was awesome. It was tiresome to walk the steps back up at the end of the day but the challenge was memorable too :) There is a gelataria located right next to the top of the stairs so it is a prize at the end of the feat ;)

Like I wrote above, the location is not too convenient but the ambience makes up for this. I guess it is the price you pay for the serene beauty.

We stayed at the hotel four years ago and loved the location and the staff, so we decided to stay there again. It was all that we remembered from our first stay,the quite location,the charm of the countryside and most importantly the friendly staff. Before we learned that the hotel was sold an the staff of many years was to be replaced, we planned on a return visit. I would hope the new owners will reconsider hiring back the staff, or we will not return.

Seulement 2 chambres de l'hôtel étaient rénovées. Nous avons loué une suite. Salle de bains et ameublement vieux et pas soigné
