Very good,
Score from 190 reviews
“The hotel reminded me of a Graham Greene novel. It was slightly (and I mean ever so slightly) jaded spendor. It felt like the home of great nobility of latter day. The staff spoke good english and were very friendly. I was late for breakfast one day and was treated to a selection of items from the kitchen without any problem. I will certainly be back.”

Very friendly, English speaking staff. Excellent food at the restaurant, which we would highly recommend to dine in. Roberto, the owner, created very welcoming atmosphere at the hotel.

All staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Furthermore, the restaurant is excellent and absolutely fair priced. Although the rooms are simple, they offer everything you need and were clean.

The Corona is a very nice hotel in a beautiful area. Our stay was made even better by the friendliness and helpfulness of Roberto and his staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

We spent 4 days at Hotel Ristorante Corona and appreciated the attention of the staff and the stunning scenery of the surrounding area. Lucca was the main reason for staying, and we enjoyed being away from the crowds that gather there. The mountain views were spectacular as were the small towns in the area.

Fabulous charming hotel. Stayed in riverside room, did not experience any traffic noise on this side. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Staff extremely helpful and cheerful which makes a very refreshing change! Delicious food served in restaurant -the best vegetarian meals I've ever had! Would definitely return to this hotel due to lovely location, excellent customer service and great value for money. Only minor fault is rooms need a little attention, for example cracked tiles in bathroom.

This hotel was very good value for money and the room had a lovely view of the lake. The staff were lovely and breakfast was wonderful. We opted to eat in the restuarant in the evening which was amazing! Top class meal (its in the michelin guide). The pool at the other hotel is about 20 minute walk away, we had bikes but without it would be quite far.

Extremely attentive and friendly staff. Requested a room upgrade as I walked in and couldn't even finish the sentence, the key was in my hand to a nice, good size room on the river side. Comfortable bed, clean room/bathroom. Nice breakfast and although the selection is limited, dinner was great. Roberto, the owner was extremely helpful, he went out of his way to make my stay very pleasant. Recommended a beautiful route for my morning run I would have never found on my own. If you want to stay in Bagni di Lucca, that's the place!

The hotel has a nice atmosphere (nothing of a plastic kitsh) and a great restaurant area, overlooking river Lima and the mountains (delicious breakfasts are served on a balkony there!). Great location for trekking and visiting mountain medieval villages (very picturesque!) as well as Lukka, Barga, etc. The room was rather small. It wouldn't be bad to renovate the hotel building, mainly from outside (our room and bathroom was very ok)

The Location - The Wonderful Scenery - The perfume scented air - The friendly people. Very noisy. The room was spacious but the beds were hard. There was no air conditioning (which we knew before booking) but there wasn't even a simple fan (ceiling or table) to help keep the room cooler. As a result, the window had to be left open and then of course, the noise of the river, the ducks and birds and the church bells (every 30 minutes) kept us awake most of the night. I, and my Family have used the sister Hotel (The Regina) in Bagni di Lucca and it was much quieter and has a pool. Because the Corona Restuarant had a good rating, we decided to book a table for 6 on our last evening but were disappointed in several areas. 2 of ther party wanted steak which we requested to be cooked medium to well but they arrived almost completely raw and quite cold. The food was served on cold plates and although bread was placed on the table, no side plates were supplied and butter had to be requested. We paid €25 per person and although that is not particularly expensive, we all felt disappointed by comparison to other (less expensive) restuarants in the area. For the reasons mentioned, I would not recommend this Hotel although the staff were friendly, but would recommend the Regina (same owner) just a short distance away.

Wonderful food; the best meal we had in 10 days of excellent eating across France and Italy. Lovely dining room with riverside terrace. The helpful and friendly staff especially the proprietor/chef, who even changed a wheel for us! Our room was large and comfortable and well worth the extra charge for a river view. A perfect overnight stay and we can't wait to return for a longer stay.

We've really enjoyed the location of the hotel, as Bagni di Lucca is a forgotten pearl of Northern-Tuscany. The staff was really friendly and have made everything to make our stay enjoyable. The street-view rooms are quite small and a little noisy, though the windows close very well. The walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbour's TV.

The standard room we had reserved was claustrophobic, so we paid the 12 euro supplement and got a superior, which was quite nice, overlooking the (almost dry) river. Friendly staff. Owner made marmalade-must try. Nice terrasse overlooking (dried) river for breakfast. Very agreeable restaurant, reasonably priced. The hotel is a somewhat out of the way if you are oriented towards visiting Lucca (25km / 25 min from Lucca). Breakfast is small, even for italian standards. No extra blankets in room and no heating in the one night we stayed, so it was a bit colder than we would have wanted. But it was not a real problem.
