Only a 5-minute walk from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella Train Station, Hotel Azzi is in the San Lorenzo district, close to the cathedral and Fortezza da Basso convention center.
Score from 984 reviews Very good
To experience Florence at its best, you must live it as a true Florentine. Staying in a luxurious apartment in a Renaissance building is surely going to make the difference.
Score from 457 reviews Wonderful
Very nice people and great breakfast. Good location.
Front desk staff very friendly and helpful at all times.
Location was OK - 10 minutes walk to centre of Firenze. Not much more!
Everything else! The noise! No Wi-Fi! Breakfast - cramped, no windows, poor quality, rude staff serving breakfast. Rooms - poor quality beds, uncomfortable. Needs new furniture, etc. No other facilities such as Tea and Coffee making. Bathroom was dirty and cramped. NO air conditioning believe it or not - apparently out of season so they switch it off! Avoid this hotel as expensive for what is at best, a poor B&B - spend your money elsewhere and if intent on staying here, take some ear lugs for the road noise that goes on ALL night!
Location and view. Very polite and helpfull lady receptionist.
No tea or coffee facility in room. No shuttle service to town or station. Breakfast very plain and repetitive. No lounge chair in room to relax on.
The buffet breakfast was very good and the foyer was elegant. Also it was across from the river and was picturesque.
However it was a very noisy location and the hallways and our room was quite dated and dingy. Wifi was only available in the lobby.
It is far from the center of Florence. You will have to pay what you will save just to go and come to the hotel. With a wonderful view, but the single rooms were at the back yard, as if i was punished for being single..!! The shutters were not safe at night. The walls fabric is very fragile that I can hear the talk of those who are around me. Wifi was not that strong in all the common areas ie. the dinning room.
Very bad hotel ,
The bad smell in the hotel it is not possible to sleep
The smell of the room, The ugly bathroom
The hotel is very old no renovation i don't know how it is 4 stars hotel
I am 6'4" tall and had to sleep in a single bed with my feet hanging out. It said there would be a satellite tv. There was no tv. It stunk of drains and the room could not be locked from the inside for security. I arrived at 10 am and there was nowhere to park. It took me 30 minutes to find spot some 800 yards away. I left at 5am but did not get any discount. It was filthy and horrible. I cancelled the second night booked and stayed elsewhere.
Owner Marco friendly
Noisy room Bad breakfast Over priced Not a four star
Location was good and the receptionist was very helpful
The A/C made a lot of noise. They had issues with water. Fortunately they understood our situation and gave us a late check out
Location in City was excellent. Staff was friendly. Good value for money.
Shower had no cabin, just a shower curtain which was dreadful because that resulted in a constantly wet floor. Breakfast was good although breakfast room was too small to accommodate all guests, there were sometimes queues which made me feel rushed and uncomfortable at breakfast.
location was decent, walking distance from the main attractions
Our A/C was making a loud, blaring noise which I noticed as soon as we checked in. I requested the hotel staff to change our rooms or fix the A/C, he assured me that this will be done when we return at night. Also, I had requested a queen bed (common sense, we are a couple) Instead, we got two single beds stacked together. I even stressed on the fact that we had just done a long road trip of 6 hours, and were very tired and needed to sleep properly for our full day tour of Florence the next day. When we came back, the A/C was still the same. At that point there was a new gentleman working, who I explained the situation to again and in a very rude, condescending tone he flat out told me 'I'm sorry but I can't do anything about it.' I found that so hard to believe, that he couldn't even change our room or atleast humor me and pretend to do something about it. I requested him to check again and he gave me the same response, and this time he raised his voice. Since he was being so boisterous, my husband intervened and tried to diffuse the situation and said we had already spoken to the manager earlier in the day and asked him to check for new room. His only solution to the problem was “Sleep without an A/C, people always do” and moreover “Go to another hotel.” He was beyond rude, disrespectful and spoke to us as if we were living for free!!! Forget talking to customers, you don’t talk to people like that! By the way, this was 1 AM at night and my husband and I were exhausted. By then we gave up and retired to our room in hopes to talk to a more reasonable person in the morning. We had a full day tour booked and needless to say, we were sleepy and groggy in the morning. We spoke to the manager in the morning and expressed our frustration, she sympathized since clearly no one deserves to be spoken like that. She assured us our room will be changed or our A/C will be fixed. We returned to the same room and the same A/C.
Staff provide very useful information for our traveler, thanks !
Friendly and extremely helpful staff.
Staff are vert helpful
The hotel is close to Ponte Vecchio but the price is too high for the old rooms and poor service they provide
This is a 2 stars hotel charging as if it was 4 stars! The rooms are old and have no frigobar, the beds are small, the WiFi signal is weak and beaks off from time to time, the breakfast is quite poor, and it is common to find nobody in the reception
The hotel was nicely located and they changed me to better room after 1st night. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Room was cleaned well every day.
It was guite expensive comparing to level. This hotel needs rennovations.Lack of internet connection in the room and Wifi in the lobby did not always work.
The location is almost perfect, it is directly on the bank of Arno, and you can reach walking the majority of the main points of interest of Firenze. We arrived by car. The public parking possibilities are terrible. The valet parking offered by the hotel is a great solution, though I found it a bit expensive. But it worked well. The breakfast is fair. We had a very nice romantic balcony with beautiful view at the city. The air-condition in the room was useful. The staff was great and helpful. The price seemed reasonable in Firenze.
The hotel seemed to be a bit worn-out. The lift and the corridors on the floors were very narrow and due to the lack of ventilation they were hot. The wi-fi was available in the lobby only. For the valet parking we had to pay in cash. I think this hotel, though it is very nice, is not really a 4* hotel in international terms.
The staff (wasnt able to get their names) especially the day or morning staff were really exemplary in terms of customer service. Very helpful in providing tips and other information about Florence. The one in charge of the front desk during the mornings/day (we stayed May 19- 23) even helped me talked to the tour operator to have us picked up from hotel. Rooms are spacious and the view from our window whihc is actually a park, tennis court and I can also see a church steeple is quite charming. Room design and feel espcially the bathroom is quite old but very clean and lends a special charm. Location is next to Arno river so a bit of walk to the historical attraction around the area. But note that walking around Florence historical area is actually a very pleasant and part of the whole unique experience. Overall, really comfortable and pleasant
Pillows quite flat. Bathroom quite old design and style (the sink drips).
Dirty rooms with no internet, very bad breakfast
Great room for the family. Excellent location
The beds were not the most comfortable I have slept on.
The friendlyness of the staff, they could not do enough for us, even complaining on our behalf when we were overcharged a taxi fare from a rogue taxi driver. Brilliant 9 night stay, would definitely recommend.
Large bedroom. Near to centre. Balcony overlooking the river. Decent breakfast. Staff were very helpful.
Hotel is old and tired. Typical of a city centre hotel I suppose. Bedroom was clean but bathroom needs new shower doors and grouting. Just a little bit more effort would make a big difference. But I suppose with so many visitors it's not necessary to do that bit more because there will always be fresh visitors arriving. Pity.
