The bed in our room, although big, was hard and springs were sticking out of the mattress. Wi-Fi was way too expensive, and the free connection available for restaurant guests was poor quality. It was hot in the room and we're not sure the air-con was working (we tried to turn it on but it was still hot and stuffy). TV offered just 1 or 2 English speaking channels (including BBC which had very poor quality of signal) but then again, we didn't come to Florence to watch TV. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was very tasty but the waiters were so busy that they were frequently forgetting to serve us and we had to ask twice to get a menu or wine. For all the Michelin forks that the restaurant is so proud of - we'd expect better than that. All in all it was not bad and we enjoyed our stay - but with this price and the references of the hotel, we would expect not to have such issues.
The staff was very nice and helpful. This - and the super convenient location of the hotel - was the biggest advantage. It was just round the corner from the railway station and close to the historic centre. The hotel looked very elegant - with cosy sofas and armchairs. We had a nicely decorated room, clean bathroom with lots of fluffy towels, tasty breakfast, big TV with abundance of Italian TV channels. Comfortable pillows, mini bar, a long list of services offered by the hotel. Check out till 12 so we had plenty of time in the morning.

Temperature in the room was very high. It's always 28 degree even though we set the AC to 23 degree... the room feels like a sauna... Free wifi, but you need to type in log in details after every time your phone goes to sleep, as it doesn't allow auto log in.
Jacuzzi in the lovely little garden was excellent for taking away the tiredness of a whole day walking. Staffs were really friendly and helpful. We had to leave before the breakfast time to catch an early train, the gentleman in reception packed some breakfast for us to enjoy on the train. 5min walk to the train station, very convenient location.

The bathroom smelled like a sewer drain. We kept the door closed all night so we didn't have to smell it and spent as little time as necessary showering etc. We didn't mention it to the staff, but I would think the hotel maids would have reported it.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, particularly the front desk and bartender. Breakfast was complimentary with the room and included the usual items: yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, juices, coffee, teas. Since we're not big breakfast eaters it was good for us.

Breakfast was poor considering it was 4 star hotel. Not any green (tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce) and cold cut too peculiar.
Room was renovated and spacious. We even had our own backyard. Staff was very helpful.

No free WiFi, but we´re not in Florence to browse the internet, so...

We liked the room, although it was tiny. Lack of foreign channels on TV for the evenings in the room. It was pretty noisy when we were there as there was some kind of refurbishment going on. You can also hear everything from the corridor, walking and talking people, housekeeping, porters, ringing phones, slammed doors and late conversations.
Good location, helpful staff, pretty good breakfast.

The breakfast was very limited and the display of food was bad. They dont refill the finished items back
Once we arrived, they upgraded our room to superior :). Nice spacious room. Clean hotel

Terrible bed, worst I ever tried sleeping in. WiFi was off and on. The toilet sounded like an earthquake when the persons in the room above me flushed.

We were given a room with two double beds and a different view, which was not what we booked (we booked a room with one double bed and city view). When we checked in, they asked us not to use the second bed because we only booked one bed. It left me feeling uncomfortable that linens are maybe not changed between guests if a bed looks unused. The location is very close to many sights, but there are a lot of dodgy characters that hang outside the building.
The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great and in a very beautiful room.

The decor in the hotel room is oh so 1970-80s. Whilst I love the hisotry of the builidng being an old covenvent I can see the effort and commitment to bring the premises past into the present guests needs on the ground floor but seriously the soft furnishings - artwork, bedspread and curtains in hotel rooms just makes the space feel like a three star motel not a four star hotel. But worst of all its so easy to fix and upgade it. these simple changes would give the place the wow factor.
the meetings rooms and patio on the ground floor was a fantastic meeting spaces. Especially in the cold of winter no one wants to be limitted to just thier hotel room. The location I could not have asked for better simply 200metres from world heritage listed sites amazing to be able to stroll the florence knowing that your hotel is at the centre of everything and a short walking distance from central train station. The bathroom was a great size especially the bath tub one of the best I have seen in Europe. Also the nativity tribute on the ground floor more than 20 nativity displays with fountains, lighting and automated action. Also a video tribute to christimas from all around the world. I have never seen it done like that before. I give the hotel full credit for considering its guests and the festive season and bringing us in close proximity to the amazing craft talents of the local community.
